See Express vs VCS Control series & Expressway

Hello

I am little bit confused what is the difference between the Expressway series and legacy VCS-C/E.

If I deploy series Expressway (X8.6) running on the virtual machine as traversal server for ARM, can I use that as same as VCS - C and VCS - E, the installation program.

By running the MRA, can I also used these local SIP/h.323 recording servers of the endpoints of SX and Jabber Video (Movi)? Can I need separate license to achieve?

On the two highways are the licenses ordered. Are these already for what I want to achieve, or this is just for the deployment of the ARM?

So I need instances of additional and separate VCS to support records the of the SIP/h.323 endpoints. And need additional licenses for the latter as Non-parcours/course would issue licenses, commissioning, FindMe.

OK, that all of these are specific to the series of VCS, while the freeway series does not have the provisioning and FindMe, it also has a system of license different call where it is a type of single license unlike licenses non-parcours course you have with VCS.  The

TMS I 'LIC-TMS-PE-25' to activate the user commissioning for Movi so I want to use.

You must use the VCS-control/Highway if you want to use video telepresence Jabber (aka Movi).

Series Expressway (centre/periphery) are therefore only for ARM with CUCM deployment?

Yes, Expressway series was created to provide courses of firewall and external recording to CUCM via Mobile and remote access capability.  It can also provide comments of Jabber, but MRA and Jabber comments cannot be run on the same server.  On another note, the series of VCS can take all the series Expressway, because the latter is simply a subset of the functionality of VCS.

  • Keep the highway-VCS-control or switch to Expressway-C/E?

We currently have CUCM 9.1 2, VCS-control (virtual) 8.6 and 8.6 VCS-Expressway (Physics) in our environment. Endpoints are a mixup of SIP and SCCP, Jabber customers phones and EX90 4. Everything had been originally been setup with our EX90 to register for VCS and the pair of VCS to just be there for the EX90 to use (they were quite nice sitting here doing nothing with the little utility that we see in our EX90s).

A few weeks ago, I dug in our configuration to better use our infrastructure and do some things that were never done during the initial implementation of our system of phone two years ago. I have installation MRA on the pair of VCS to allow to our Jabber endpoints to record without VPN, update the EX90 with keys now free option for PR, DD, etc., saved the EX90s to CUCM instead of VCS and update the firmware on the pair of VCS and EX90.

Final update nagging I confusion keep me on is that I should get licenses to convert our VCS-control and highway Highway-C and E or keep as-is. It seems that C/E are the wave of the future with Cisco wanting to check directly to CUCM, so I feel like it's the 'right' thing to do here...

-Without registering on VCS more, I'm better convert Expressway-C/E?

-Did I miss all the features/functionality leaving them alone?

-My 5 traversal licenses will become licenses RMS once converted? (I saw mixed reviews on this and prefer not to spend the extra $750 / piece on them if I can convert my existing licenses).

    Thank you!

    Pete

Not really sure on the migration options to license, but right now that VCS can do everything that expressway can do, and more.  RMS licenses are less expensive than the traversal licenses, so if you plan to expand, it might be cheaper in the future.  Other than that, I don't see no reason to abandon the feature.

  • VCS-control Mobile Remote Access and 7800/8800, DX, MX security profiles

    All,

    First thanks for your help.

I am in the process of implementing a new pair of VCS - C/E and want to configure it to use remote devices on arm I have read the documentation and just have a few questions before ordering my new SSL for the VCS - C certificate.

We chose to use the devices DX70, DX80, DX650, 8851,8841, use of the ARM. According to the documentation, I am to create a new security profile for each device and name them as full domain names

    DX650.subdomain.mydomain.com

    DX80.subdomain.mydomain.com

    DX70.subdomain.mydomain.com

    8851.subdomain.mydomain.com

    OK, here are my questions...

    1. subdomain.mydomain.com - is the name of my VCS Expressway. For example: vcsexpressway.mybusiness.com? so the entire FQDN

    DX650.vcsexpressway.mybusiness.com?

2 when I create profiles course should I create one for each model? 8851, 8841, DX80...? Or can I just create one for the series? 8800, 7800?

    Thanks for your help!

    1. it is recommended to include the business control domain VCS in the security profile name phone on CUCM. If your VCS control FULL domain name is vcscontrol.mybusiness.com then you can use DX650.vcscontrol.mybusiness.com in the safety profile of the phone. These names must be present in the list of other names are the subject of the control of the VCS server certificate.

    2. you can create separate security phone profiles for each model.

  • Profile C40 with VCS Starter Pack Expressway system

    Hello guys,.

Customer not want options like Firewall and the Conference (MCU 5300) crossing.

But as this is a small script (there around 2 profile C40 + 2 SX20 10 video Jabber), I found that it will be interesting using VCS Starter Pack Expressway. He's no more than 50 records or 25 route calls as shown in the data sheet 'support '.

I took a look at the topis here and also some documents and say that C40/SX20 are not supported for the supply, but since the SIP/h.323 support, calls should work perfectly.

No doubt: that the client will lose in terms of features or benefits without the support of this commissioning endpoints?

It would be a pain in the neck to enter the SX20 or C40 to VCS Starterpack expressway?

Olá Alan, respenderei em inglês para fica na don't base dados, mas design sao best respondidas send any video Business forum.

About your 3 points, depends on:

    (1) even if you deploy the TMS, endpoint will try to get the directory using HTTP/HTTPS connection. If the endpoints are outside / internet, it may be refused by security reasons.

    (2) you can always configure auth on the StarterPack VCS to auth against the local database. At the endpoints configured manually, you can enter the identification information.

    (3) you can configure the bandwidth on VC (subareas or pipes) configuration control or limit directly to each endpoint

The SX/MX/EX/C series can register the StarPack using a direct connection (h.323/SIP) or behind the FW/NAT using H.460.18/19 or assent. They can local Auth VCS DB. Be aware that the VCS S is usually installed in an external DMZ or directly with a public IP address. In this case, if you have 2 x SX to the internal network and the VCS at the DMZ (with NAT in the middle), all media will be hollow VCS, even if the two SX are on the same subnet.

PS: Be careful where to include the VCS. If you use NAT on the VCS, basic network license need double.

    It will be useful.

  • Problem restarting VCS control

This problem happened to me three times now, that when I restart the server loses the connection, to verify the settings through the console maintains network already had, but I cannot ping the default gateway.

    VCS has Ethernet 1 IP: 192.168.0.252 255.255.255.0

    Default GW: 192.168.0.251

Default address of 192.168.0.100 Ethernet 2 I'm NOT to the HELP of THIS INTERFACE don't IS NOT YET PHYSICALLY CONNECTED.

When I connect as root ping to the default gateway and tells me he makes 192.168.0.100 from the IP address of the Ethernet 1 and has been before restarting.

I've tried everything, even if the IP address with the wizard again, and the only thing that solved the problem is upgraded zero 3. Once it implemented new and it market.

I don't want to have to reboot each time delivery to zero level 3, how can I do? What is c?

Attached to the output with the ping command and exit with the xstatus of command so you can see that the configuration does not change, but the ping does not work.

You shouldn't have two nic on VCS control interfaces, this feature is designed to be used with VCS Expressway only. As I don't see that your ethernet 2 has the default IP address, I think that you don't need to use it, so I suggest to disable the secondary network on SCV control interface.

To disable the Ethernet 2 VCS control, simply remove the option "Double Network Interface" key.

  • Interoperability VCS control and Expressay - various versions

    Hi team,

We settled on a client control VCS about 6 months. The customer has decided to buy, after this period, VCS highway as well.

The version of VCS is x7.2 control and we are already in the version x8.2.1.

    My question is:

There is some incompatibility between the VCS control version x 7 and VCS Expressway in x 8 version?

    Best regards

VCS X7.2.x and X8.x backward compatibility were considered in depth since the published software X 8.  The following discussion is the latest X8.2 version that resolves the compatibility between versions X 7 and X 8 of the VCs.

  • TMS does not COR of VCS Control collect

    Hi all

Our TMS does not collect call Record of VCS control detail.

(Reports > call detail record > Gatekeeper and VCS)

He collected CDR properly until 2 August.

But it does not collect no COR from 3 August until today even if many calls are housed.

We have not changed configurations of MSDS and the VCS.

What should I check on TMS and VCS?

    Any advice is welcome

    Best regards

    Kotaro Hashimoto

As mentioned in Magnus, is a known issue with X7.2 for CDR.

    Symptom:

TMS will not to CDR data type 'Gatekeeper and VCS' and the journal-web - public.txt in TMS log file will contain entries that are similar to the:

---> Tandberg.TMS.SystemAPI.OakPine.InvalidStateException: expected to find, but on the other hand find.

at Tandberg.TMS.SystemAPI.OakPine.XMLFeedbackReader.AssumePositionedAtTag (XmlReader, String tag player)

at Tandberg.TMS.SystemAPI.OakPine.HttpFeedback.ProcessCallDisconnected (IXMLDoc txasDoc, RoutableSystem system)

-End of the exception stack trace internal-

    TMS Version 13.2.1

    Background:

Due to a change in the feedback XML VCS sends to TMS for events related to calls connection / disconnection, TMS is not able to correctly interpret the XML data provided by the VCS. For this reason, TMS is not capable of generating records CDR based on feedback data provided by the VCS.

    Workaround:

Currently, there is no workaround known workaround for this issue when executing software X7.2 on VCS. X7.1 and earlier versions of the VCs are not affected by this problem.

This will be fix with the next maintenance release, X7.2.1.

  • GW ISDN Cisco with VCS control

    Hi Experts,

I'm new with Cisco ISDN Gateway 3200, and I will integrate to the existing video network managed by VCS control with the endpoints and MCUS registered as SIP.

Here is an example of the existing video network numbering plan:

SIP URI endpoint: [email protected] / * /

MCU SIP URI: [email protected] / * /

    ISDN GW H323 alias: 54xxxxx

I came up with these questions:

    1. for us intergate ISDN GW on the video network, we must save as H323 on the right VCS?

    2. to call scenario as a point endpoint SIP or MCU calling to one ISDN endpoint via video, how the call flow? Make the registered endpoint/MCU SIP point as SIP on the VCS can dial directly on this endpoint ISDN? Or they will call first the H323 number of ISDN GW recorded on the VCS then routed to an auto attendant of the ISDN GW?

    3. How about ISDN endpoint SIP endpoint?

Please send me a sample of guide and the configuration of the ISDN GW and VCS about how we could improve the flow of calls work on the call scenarios mentioned.

    SIP---> ISDN

    ISDN---> SIP

Thank you very much for the help.

    Best regards

    Acevirgil

    Hello

    1. For us to intergate the ISDN GW on the video network, we need to register it as H323 on the VCS right?

Yes, it's true. This isn't the only method, but it is the most used and most easy way. I suggest you use it.

    2. For call scenario like from a SIP endpoint or MCU calling an ISDN endpoint via video, how's the call flow? Do the SIP endpoint/MCU registered as SIP on the VCS can dial directly on that ISDN endpoint? Or they will dial first the H323 number of the ISDN GW registered on the VCS then routed to an auto attendant of the ISDN GW?

In this case, you will need to ensure interoperability the call in VCS. No matter what SIP endpoint can dial numbers ISDN, and then VCS will route the call to the gateway h323 format, only the number with any ' @domain.com ' and the call will be interoperability. The flow would be something like this:

Point endpoint [sip] SIP----> - VCS [H323]---> Gateway ISDN

    3. How about from ISDN endpoint to SIP endpoint?

The same concept is applied. ISDN gateway sends the call in H323 for VCS and interwoks VCS the call and sending SIP endpoint. Something like this:

    SIP endpoint<-------[sip]--------- vcs=""><--------[H323]---------- gateway="">

With regard to incoming calls from gateway ISDN to VCS, there is one important thing to consider. You basically have to methods:

    • You can configure the ISDN gateway to route calls to the auto attendant, then users will be able to recompose the verse numbers of internal endpoint for the auto attendant
    • You can configure the ISDN gateway to use DID (Direct inward dialing), in this case, you create routes to the gateway which maps each ISDN number to an internal endpoint registered to the SCV

Both methods work fine, however, when using auto attendant, it is very important to implement a scheme of toll-free fraud prevention. Take a look at this thread:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/message/3971947#3971947

Regarding the guide, it is not a simple step by step explaining, but the Administrator's guide provides a good explanation on how to configure the dial plan in the gateway and how to enter the doors of VCS. Check out this guide:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/isdn_gw/admin_guide/isdn_gateway_printable_help_2-2.PDF

    I hope this helps.

  • Expression box to control opacity other layers

I do a model with several color schemes, and I would like to work back a little:

Generally when I make a model, I have a demo with multiple background layers in it and I'm going to use a Null value in my main computer with an appropriate amount of control of Expression boxes to control the opacity of the respective layers BG - pretty normal stuff.

The downside is that if I want to reuse this background layer in different compositions I have to duplicate and change the expression to match the location of the null whenever it moves.

I would like to work backwards (if possible) and apply an expression to the box itself which refers to a single BG precomp. This way I can copy the null value to my 20 different model comps, while expressions always reference a single demo, allowing just copy me the value null of one model to another without ever having to change expressions.

    Is this possible?

If I understand what you're asking, I don't think it will work because an expression affect anything except the property hosting the expression (the box itself, in your case).

  • VCS Cisco control / Core Expressway interoperability

    Hello

I have the fate of unmanageable endpoints on the internal network, functioning as a H323 IP address directly.
In fact, we had regular meetings as the auto numbering unmanageable endpoint by H323 IP address directly.
Unmanageable end points would not be registered in the VCS / CUCM.

    1. can I adjust the composition of Cisco driver auto & GST to endpoints VC not saved by its IP address (regular meeting VC > Auto call the IP address internal VC endpoints directly)?

    2. or should I deploy VCS / Expressway to consume the traversal lic. / RMS lic. from autodial URI translate be IP call? Can I just deploy the VCS - C / E motorway in order to reduce the lic. costs?

    You don't need a VCS-E for this.

Just go to the plan of numbering - Setup and call to unknown IP addresses as Direct. The alternative would be to create a subzone with a membership rule with the IP of your endpoint. Depends on if you want to only allow the call to this particular or to any endpoint IP on your network endpoint.

Radvision endpoints both Polycon use radvision H.323 stack, while Tandberg endpoints use a single H.323 stack.

H.323 endpoint outside the firewall/NAT must apply directly to the controller of H.460.18/19 border instead of a doorman. If you could provide file OCAP for your case, that will be useful.
