Replacement of motherboard questions

I havd a pavilion Model # p6130y Prod # ny464aa-aba and basically, I've been having the issue where when the computer was trying to sleep, he would go to a black screen and hang there until I did a hard reboot. I found that it was a problem of bios fixed with the update. When I had updated lost power during the update, so I found myself with a update failure. I tried to Flash with no results, then I took the computer to the local store and they couldn't get the bios to take and gave it back to me. So now im thinking it would be cheaper for me, simply enter a new motherboad. I have a few questions that someone could probably help me with.

1. I believe that when I do this the I will need a new license for windows is that correct.

2. do I need to look for a specific sheet? I know that I have ddr2, form factor micro atx and a processor am2 +.

3. basically to get an example would be something like this work of motherboard asus www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131595

Thanks for your time.

The oldest HP PC used power but sightly different motherboard connector there are adapters for this situation.  The USB connectors should be pretty standard.

Buying a new enclosure, power supply and motherboard is.

    Hi all

I just replaced the motherboard on my system (phone http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/M2N68-LA-Narra-2-Replacement/td-p/3711774) and now I get this error when starting: Fan failure system, PC service to avoid any damage. I thought it was the CPU fan but he was running and after some research, I realized that he could talk a case fan.

As a side note, the motherboard, I had was a little different and missing 2 connections that seem to be the front mic/headphone and USB ports.

Now, the case's fan then what really is the problem? Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you

    -Panos

The rev3.02 of M2N68 - THE Committee a case fan rear 3 poles. See here.

The CPU fan is a 4 pin cable and attaches to the appropriate header to 4 pins on the motherboard. See the representative schema above.

As for you, another question, the front USB port attaches to a USB connector on the card.

  • Replace a motherboard T430

Hello. I replaced the motherboard of my code with the last HM 00 303 04Y1406 FRU T430.
Everything ok, works perfectly, but I can't change the number stored in the type of machine "qqqq? with my 2351
With Lenovo disk maintenance, I entered all the data and the type of series, but with system update can not download drivers because the machine type is not recognized.
Is there another program to update the type of machine?

Well, since nobody has been able to help and in the Italian proverb says "who acts as if she for 3 ', convinced that, sooner or later, I found the solution, I was crying, I SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
I brought my PC to the Service for 3 days and I contacted a second technician I solved the problem because there was for both the motherboard to replace!
Start by saying that the EEPROM stores a string and are ready to be crushed. No question. And there is not a good, to remove it and then rewrite it.
It is therefore for the type of machine.
During the update of the BIOS, at some point the program asks if you want to update the Bios or machine type.
With the second option, when you see the number dialed by the first 4 characters blackened (not to be seized), in the box on the side, or who typed in, press the space bar to clear the contents.
Proceed to the upgrade of the series and follow the instructions on the screen.
During the restart, again, choose "update series", and in this way, you will see the type of car that you previously entered in the bios.
Renewed the usual 3 alphanumeric characters and follow what you are responsible for the video. Once this bios to remove the update of phase CD and reboot the PC.
LENOVO CENTER's SOLUTIONS will appear in the type of machine and here for warranty registration information and at this point it will work also program update drivers.
Said today is simple, but there are technicians of Lenovo is arrived!

  • How to re-enable Windows 7 after replacing the motherboard.

I managed to replace the motherboard in an Acer Aspire v3 and all is well (or almost).

Only problem is that Windows 7 requires now that I'm using an illegal copy of Windows.

I know that the reason is that the version of Windows OEM is selected with the original motherboard.

I talked to both supports of Microsoft and Acer support several times but neither can or reactivates my windows. Is it really to do I have to pay for a new product key as a consequence of a repair?

    Hello

That said, that the next question is if I can solve the problem by buying a new product key?

Yes, look at this response from Microsoft.

    Hello

I have some questions to ask:

    1. is it possible to replace the motherboard in this laptop with motherboard with better graphics card? If there is could you write a serial number and model.

    2. my motherboard is broken - beyond repair and I need a new, same motherboard that the original is not found. Is it possible to order directly form maker? If there is, I would ask for contact and some tips.

    I'd appreciate any help ^^

You have listed two different models, of which one is an AMD processor and the other is Intel. I will assume that you have the Intel model. Otherwise after return to clarify and we can do it for a model of AMD. Even if you have a processor AMD motherboard described below would be better, but you will have to get a motherboard and processor, of course.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Your manual

    Your listing:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=c03635483

You have an i7-3630QM and nVidia GT650M video.

The jury will have a faster processor; up to an Intel Quad Core i7-3840QM but it is no better than the 650 M video, you already have. In other words, you have the top of the motherboard brand for this model, and no better motherboard will fit in the chassis.

    You have this motherboard:

To be used on computer models equipped with an Intel quad core NVIDIAR GeForceR 650 graphical subsystem of M with 2 GB memory discreet and operating system Windows 8 Standard 682040-501

I have some difficulty to check, but here he is waiting in HP Partsurfer upward:

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=682040-501

You can contact HP from this link, but I think it's maybe out of stock at HP.

This seller has for $130, which is a pretty fair price:

    http://www.notebookparts.com/HP-envy-dv7-7200-dv7-7300-Intel-motherboard-682040-501/

I have bought from notebookparts.com and it is a reputable site.

  • Windows will not start after replacing the motherboard

To begin, I must say that I am pretty clueless when it comes to computer skills.

To summarize, I sent my CPU to a repair shop when my computer has stopped working. I removed my hard drive before starting the repairs because it contains confidential data.  They have narrowed the cause to a faulty motherboard and replaced by a new dissimilar.
At the store, the guy had a vista 64 bit recovery disc so I have it home and tried to fix it. He said it will be a breeze and relatively bug free. As part of the Startup Repair, I tried to drive the Startup Repair, and tests were all successful except one. An error of diagnosis readings
"Unspecified system configuration changes may have caused the problem.
Repair action: repair and checking the integrity of system files
    Result: failed. Error code 0 x 490
    time taken = 720023 ms
Everything I've done has led to a brief blue screen to the Windows loading screen and then it restarts itself.
I also tried to restore to the previous two points, but it has also led to the square - a brief blue screen after the loading screen and restarts on its own windows. I'm not ready to reinstall vista and I can't afford to do it too, because I don't have enough disk space to perform another installation. Nor am I willing to reformat one of my two disks.
If you need additional information on the specifications of the material that must be provided, ask me.
IM at my end intelligence now, and I really hope to solve this problem.
    Thank you.
    Bryan M

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you have to completely reinstall the operating system after replacing the motherboard with a different motherboard.

"Startup Repair" is exactly that: a start NOT a repair system repairs

What has happened, it is the operating system on your hard disk contains the drivers for the old motherboard and does not and you can't change drivers in doing what you do.

The only way to solve this problem is to reinstall Vista.

You wipe the hard drive and restart and make sure that the repair shop gave you the disc to install the new drivers of motherboard after you reinstall vista or download on the website of the manufacturer of the motherboard.

And here a question for you to consider, too.

If you bought a copy of Vista retail yourself, you can use the method above to a new installation and then install the new disk motherboard drivers.

But, if your computer is a trademark of purchased manufacturer, HP, Toshiba, etc., you can not change the motherboard that the license of Vista OEM is stuck at motherboard the origin of the manufacturer that it has been installed on and now you canceled your Vista license.

    See you soon.

  • Impossible to reinstall Vista after replacing the motherboard

I have replace my mobo last week.  I still have the same hard disk, cpu and RAM.  After starting my computer to the top, she would not accept vista for some reason any (I don't remember why) he did without BSOD for half a second, and then restart.  I find out one of my RAM sticks, lock was not engaged.  I fixed that, but it did not work.  I tried the system repair and recovery system, but they do not work.  I tried to reinstall vista with my recovery disks.  I reformatted the hard drive and complete the installation.  When the computer reboots, it said I had a system configuration error and I had to contact my computer manufacturer.  Of course HP could not help me because I have replaced the motherboard. I'm able to run my conputer because I installed ubuntu later. Everything works. My question is, when I have windows 7, I have to but the commercial version or do the upgrade?

You will need a full retail version of Windows 7 or you could just buy a license for Windows 7 system builder OEM.

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all the hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard- that's why you could not reinstall Windows Vista on the new motherboard, because his attached to the motherboard that initially provided with HP and Vista recovery disk system are supposed to work only with him.

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • Want to 800-060: reactivation after replacing the motherboard

I bought a HP Envy 800-060 with Windows 8 pre - install Amazon in July of 2013. It was an incredible computer since that time, and when the free update of Windows 8 for Windows 10, I did immediately released. Recently, however, the motherboard has failed on the computer. It would not stay same POSITION, and after much troubleshooting, I finally decided to replace the motherboard. Now that the computer is running again, I guess that the motherboard change was sufficient for the operating system to think that it is no longer enabled. I was never provided with a key of Activation of OS (Win8 has been pre-installed), and Microsoft has suggested that I contact HP to find the original key. I've looked everywhere on the chassis and inside the tower for a valid Windows activation key, nothing helps. I tried to find a phone number to call for support, but my product is outside the guarantee. I don't need advice or troubleshooting tips (so I don't pay the $59.99), all I need is my activation key valid Windows based on my serial number of the product. Anyone know the best way to achieve HP with this problem and have it is resolved?

    Thanks in advance!

The unfortunate, is that your original product key has been incorporated in the firmware original by HP motherboard UEFI when the PC was built.  There is no way to recover this key now.

HP retains no record of keys to individualized product corresponding to individual computers, so they won't be able to provide you with the original key - and they are under no obligation to provide you with a SECOND key, that you didn't do the replacement of HP hardware.

With the product now being out of warranty, it's really call HP or not you upload support - and the experience I have had with older equipment-, they do that, there's just no way around IDs.

HP customer support is really the only way you have to get support.  If they don't help you for free, because your PC is out of warranty, there is nothing we can do about it on this forum.

I am trying to replace the motherboard on a L750-16 X. I think that I need this A000080670 card, which is available. Under the RAM slots the sticker says A0000806709B141422W. I'm not sure of what the average figures and additional letters and I was wondering if anyone knew if it is compatible.

I don't know where you want to get the new motherboard, but if you want to buy it by some authorized service they should now what they offer.

I don't know if anyone here has the same machine and can help you with this. What you can try is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help.

    My motherboard part non - KSWAA LA - 4983P Rev 1.0, 2009-08-04, K000084300.

    I was offered a replacement of THE KSWAA - 4983P Rev 1.0, 2009-08-04, K000092510.

Is the K00... number important or is it just a serial number / lot number.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Concerning
    Chris

Googling K000084300 you will find information on the optical disk drive, but using the number K000092510 result is news on motherboard for Satellite L500.

I ve Exchange motherboard only once and I have identified the right one based on the part number of the laptop (PSLxxx).
I don't know where did you want to buy this new motherboard but the store should have information about compatibility.

Anyway, AFAIK this K000..., number will be used for ordering parts.

  • Qosmio F10: RAM upgrade issue after replacing the motherboard

In 2006, when my F10 - 128 fell down as a fault of the video card, Toshiba has replaced the motherboard (865 PM) of my F10 by a new one with the video card installed in Go 6600.
When I came back, I noticed that the same RAM modules have been installed (2 x 512 MB DDR 333 Mhz) as I previous had on the old motherboard.

Then, I assumed that I could easily upgrade to DDR2 RAM, I realized that this type of RAM supported by the new motherboard installed (915 PM?). But the modules DDR2 Ram (Kingston 1 GB SODIMM (KVR533D2S4 - 1 G) 533 MHz) that I ordered is simply not in the storage media... The notch in the module is placed differently that the modules of RAM DDR.

If the jury has been replaced by a newer version, with the video card Go 6600 (PCIexpress), how is, I have a Council that can not support DDR2?

Here, I am really confused. Someone at - it advice please?

    > If the jury has been replaced by a newer version, with the video card Go 6600 (PCIexpress), how is, I have a Council that can not support DDR2?
I think the jury is still supported DDR2 memory modules, but the allocation of the memory pins could be different.

You should contact the ASP in your country and ask for the compatible modules.

    Hello

    > Recently the support from Toshiba has replaced my motherboard
In my opinion, you should get in touch with the guys from service again once who replaced / fixed on your laptop.
The laptop should work properly once the service has replaced a faulty part. If it s not the case, you guys should check once again!

I put t know what card WLan do you currently use, but AFAIK the original build in WiFi card was Intel and this wireless network adapter supports BT as well.

So I think you should ask the guys once again unites what s wrong with you
