Replication product Id after Sysprep cloning

Hello

I have to configure 30 identical systems with Windows 7 Enterprise edition for my lab. I decided to install a machine, install all required software in windows and clone audit mode by using Sysprep with an answer file. For the activation part my University uses KMS. The cloning was completed successfully by using sysprep and imagex. The image has been applied to another machine, it started and activated with KMS.

The problem I face is that both machines have the same product id, but Machine customer issued by the KMS service (CMID) IDs are unique. Is there a work around to eliminate duplication product Id?

I have used sysprep/generalize/shutdown /unattend:answerfile.xml /oobe in the mode of verification to generalize the installation.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN

    Hi Sai,

I appreciate the efforts that you put to publish the query on this forum.

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums as it is related to cloning. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the TechNet Windows 7 Installation, Setup, and deployment forum.

  • Install Windows 10 Pro lowered home (with no product key) after expenses.

Received my Lenovo ThinkPad 11th yesterday and after much research, I decided to do a clean install. It came with WIndows 10 Pro and I checked the settings (that I created my Windows account at the same time) and he said that it has been activated using Windows. According to the instructions of Microsoft (and various YouTube videos, I've looked), once a machine is activated, it would automatically update the product key, so no need to find.

That is the problem. I had installed 10 Windows on a USB key and the installation went well, or so I thought. I checked the settings after installing different programs that I would use as he said that I need activate Windows. Well, checking settings, he lowered me 10 Windows Home and of course the the product key in the system (if it's still there) that is the error I get is not valid.

Of course, it is not a product key on the bottom of the computer and there is nothing in the box. How can I get my product key back so that I can install Pro back?

Using ProduKey, I get two different keys. One for the new Home edition and the other for the OEM Bios. I guess that I need reintsall (new) and use the key in BIOS Yes?

So guess what? He's back for Pro and it is activated!

I think what happened is that I downloaded the single language version and that's what he screwed up. I just redownloaded windows 10 (first on the menu drop-down) and he installed Pro and activated.

Creating new media doesn't let you choose, he will choose for you based on your product key from the system.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Lose T530 AC (logins) + PM (Power Manager) icons after Sysprep

    Lenovo T530 (Windows 7, x 64 SP1) Sysprep OOTB generalized

After the Sysprep, the system loses the icons on the dial-up connections (Version 5.85) and Power Manager (Version 6.32) in the taskbar. I can get back them, if I do a right click on the taskbar and choose the AC and the PM manually.

Is there a possibility that the symbols retained after the sysprep?

Probably because the tools are not added to the taskbar in user 'by default'. Added tools to the taskbar in Audit mode?

Although sysprep will not keep certain parameters. You may need to use 'unattended.xml' to set up scripts to add these tools to the task bar.

Just one more question: what is the PM tool appears in its factory condition?

My computer has a virus and so I had to format and reinstall windows XP.  I'm at the point where I have to enter the product key, but it won't accept it. I tried to change the B of 8 etc, but nothing helped. Can you help me?

    Hello

    1. are you using a CD provided by the manufacturer of the computer, or you use a retail XP CD?
2 is the key that you are using a sticker on the computer or the one included with a purchase XP?
    3. What is the exact error you get when you enter the product key?

If you use the key of a sticker on the computer, you need to be sure to use an OEM provided the CD to reinstall.
The key to the sticker on a computer that says "OEM" will not be able to activate on a Setup from a retail CD.

  • Request a product key after 3 years. Product included with Dell original keys do not work.

Over the past two days, Windows started asking me to validate my product code.  This, despite the fact that I had the same OS since May 2007.  I do not know what prompted the change, but I have two codes of product on the CD provided by Dell.  One is for the OS, the other is for Microsoft Office professional 2007.  The only other CD received with the system is Dell XPS drivers and resources.  No Microsoft Product Code is acceptable for this verification process.

Which MAY have been prompted by installing a new motherboard - the previous Dell motherboard had to be replaced due to several bad capacitors.  However, not sure how this affects the o/s installed previously.  The computer works in a manner consistent with the change of the motherboard for about 2 weeks now.  The new motherboard is a 2.67 image system and RAM has been improved at the same time to 4 GB.   I thought I would include these changes even if they seem not related to the evolution of the o/s.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the replies, I will examine in detail a little later.

No, in answer to your question - the new motherboard is not made by Dell.  Dell had a problem a few years with the defective capacitors - although there are a few motherboards of Dell stock, there is no interest to replace an original motherboard with bad capacitors, with a new Board of Directors with the same problems.  Dell has replaced bad motherboards a couple of years, but mine had not blown at the time, and I'm not "excluded".

In addition, the replacement with Dell motherboard is $400 + US dollars for a dual core (and comes with the same potential problem of capacitor), while I was able to get a new card with a quad core locally for about $250.  Is not supposed for several points of view to do otherwise, I think.

The system doesn't seem to work with a few minor quirks, what are the consequences of inaction?  I can't afford to raise more money on this problem, as I am a student full time and cannot afford to replace the operating system...

Provided by the Dell original OS keycode will OPERATE ONLY with a card mother Dell. You can buy a new key code which, by chance, usually comes with the installation media.

You may have saved money on the Exchange and got yourself a better computer, but still you have to pay $400 after buying a new operating system. Look on the bright side, for $400, you have a more powerful computer. Consider making Windows 7.

  • Do I need a product key after that I will be upgrading my Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 7 Home Premium using Windows Anytime Upgrade?

I am running Windows 7 Home Basic Edition on Dell Inspiron 660 s and want to update my version of Windows to Windows 7 Home Premium and then to Windows 7 Ultimate using Windows Anytime Upgrade.I'm confused that when I will enter the Windows Anytime Upgrade key, do I need to enter after my Windows product key updated?
Another question which gives me a voltage, it is that I lose all my data on the hard drive, after that I will be upgrading my Windows?
    Looking forward to your response.

There is no Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 7 Ultimate Anytime Upgrade package.

You have either buy an upgrade level or full version Windows 7 Ultimate retail package and use the product key as well as the Express in Windows 7 Home Edition Upgrade Wizard basic upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.

If you use the upgrade wizard level Express with a touch of detail, your personal files, settings and installed applications will be kept.

  • I have to enter the product key after refresh?

    Original title: PC Refresh

I think the update of my PC, but I bought without a key ring, came loaded with Windows 8.

From what I read he said I don't need, but looking at the instructions it says the following:

Once finished, I'll have to go to the store and reinstall Windows. I'll screw them if asking 25 digit number at this stage.

Anyone has any experience on this operation?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum. I will definitely help you with this.

When you use Refresh , Windows starts over with a new installation of the operating system. The main difference is that the update process automatically cancels your data, Windows settings and Metro applications, then their return puts to where they belong once windows is reinstalled. Discount will not ask you the product key. Only in reset.

You can view it for update:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-PC

Note: Apps that you have installed Web sites and DVD will be removed. The applications provided with your PC and applications that you have installed in the Windows store will be resettled. Windows puts a list of apps removed on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

You can read this for more information:

Hope this information is useful. Thanks for posting for further assistance, we'll be happy to help you.

  • You need to enter the key of product again after you reset/refresh your pc?

Hello, I was wondering if you have re - enter product key windows 8 after reset or update the operating system

For both refresh and reset scenarios, If no information store state or activation activation is available, or if the activation store is unreadable, the activation status will not be preserved. The user must activate again once the operation is complete.

So, I would say, it depends on how much Windows 8 has been corrupted that force you to use either refresh or reset to 1st place.

If I have a chance I'll try to refresh and see what happens because I have an Image return and even if the discount asks me to activate I will just restore the image.

  • How recover the 8 original windows product key after I accidentally changed?

    Hello guys,.

Something really bad happened to my laptop and I can't seem to solve the problem. Therefore, I am writing this problem here in order to get the help of you smart guys. Last week one of my friends borrowed my laptop for 3 days while I worked. When he came back to me, he said that he has accidentally changed the product key of my windows and it could not get it back. I tried to work on it since then. Finally, I decide that I need help after the future store (where I bought the laptop) fail to come with a solution for the future. I know there are a lot of guys here are really smart and pro on computer problems, so maybe you can help me with this problem. It's a laptop ASUS K75DE of model with windows 8 preinstalled inside. I just want to know if there is a way for me to get the original product key from windows, which is preinstalled in the laptop.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys.

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

Your only option is to restore the computer to its original factory condition.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
