• Monitoring of dynamic content

  Hello

  How can I determine how many people were sent to each version of dynamic content?  SO, if I build a piece of the DC with a default rule, rule 1, rule 2 and then send it to my segment, how do I determine who/how many people in my area received by default, vs how many received rule 1, and how much the rule 2.  I was not able to find this data anywhere.

  I have been able to track clicks using query strings, but this does not help with "submitted" or other metrics such as open note and click rate.  I also have the custom parser building license, so if this is useful, please let me know.

  I think the Visual report clicks does not work with dynamic content.

  But in E9, there is an option to search for what Jessica is trying, it is called: ventilation content-driven activity by E-mail (in the report Console).

  This shows how many people have been sent to each version of dynamic content in an email.

  It is not good to learn that this option does not exist in the E10.

• Priority of the rules with dynamic content

  Does anyone know how the rules have priority in dynamic content?

  For example, I have three rules: content, content for designers and content developers default. If a person is designer and developer, I want to send them the content developer.

  Any ideas?

  -If anyone knows how to add names to the rules too, would be great. They are currently all record as "rule 1" "rule 2"... ".

  The engine follows a short-circuit evaluation. It begins with rule 1, then goes to rule 2, etc.. The first rule is a football match is used. If no rule is met, then the default value is provided.

  I agree, it would be nice if the rules have been appointed. Please create it if it is not already there in the exchange of ideas!

• Dynamic content... question is size?

  Hi all! We are in the Middle, combining three regional emails in a global email. By doing this, we will have content targeted toward the region of the recipient. I am considering dynamic content to be a good choice compared to all of the content in an email; global, APAC, Europe and Americas. I have a great concern around the spacing. For example, let's say that the content of the Americas is 500 characters, but APAC and Europe are 800 characters. Does this mean it will be an extra space in the e-mail of the Americas?

  In addition, our global service providers may wish to receive all content. Does this mean that contacts in the region would have a ton of white space as the email will be constructed including all 3 dynamic content areas?

  I searched this existing jobs, but impossible to locate. If someone has bookmarked or could contribute again, I would be very happy! Help, please!

  If you don't mind using the HTML editor rather than the WYSIWYG editor, you can pull dynamic content in the code (drag and drop as usual), but the content area will adjust a piece of dynamic content - or collapse completely if the rule is null. To vary the size of the content parts, this can be very effective. You'll just want to test it to make sure that no adjustment heights in your email code which would then affect the design.

• RoboHelp 2015 Dynamic Content Filter problem

  I implemented the new dynamic content filtering feature in a set of merged help projects. The output is reactive HTML5.

  Our scenario is so super user connects to the user interface and lance help, they get all the help content, but when another user logs in, they will see everything except what I've marked as SuperUser_Only.

  I initially tested the output and filtering by displaying the icon filter and checked the filter behaved how I expected. I was disappointed with the option "Select default" is not how I expected, but it wasn't a deal breaker.

  Since we want to deploy the filter with the URL and not users to see the filter option, I got the URLS (thanks William van Weelden) and with those basic tests were performed. Basic tests I mean I have to copy/paste a URL in the browser and supported on INPUT, see the results, then copy and paste another URL in the browser and press ENTER and see the results. It worked a couple of times and I have tried the feature work and said our development team that would work.

  However, after a few more copy/pastes the content has not changed, but if I press F5 to refresh, it would then display the appropriate content. So sometimes I had to close the browser completely and reopen and then paste it again, and it would display the appropriate content. But now the filter stopped working at all. I have a total control of the server and are not all of the changes. I tried both Chrome and IE and cleared the browser cache and nothing makes the work of filtering now.

  Here are two URLS I tested with, with Xs for the IP address of the server. We have context-sensitive help and here's to a screen which the subject is named FOOD.htm.

  Exactly. If you select about to a group, it will be only non-certains other items in the same group. The choice simple/multi selection is given for a single group.

  Hope that clears the issue with "Select by default" as well.

• Make a Table of the dynamic contents for a document with a liquid layout... Help!

  * Running LiveCycle ES4 and use of the 'action' to code generator *.

  I have a HUGE document (70 + pages) that needs a dynamic table of content that updates the user adds information that can push all the sections that follow to the new page numbers.  There are sections AND subsections under each article, but for this, lets keep things simple and just talk sections.  I had to face to find a way to do this for months and I need to have done this week. I already have the table of contents and click on each section heading, it sets the focus to the PDF for the first text field in this section.  (each section has a text field just after the title of section)

  
  

  To make it dynamic, I added 2 pieces for each section:

  (1) a field of visible text on the Table of contents page with the default page number that the article is on until the user enters information

  2) an invisible digital field placed just before the first text field in each section that of value is set on "property page number: current runtime" so he always holds the current page number

  
  

  Using the constructor Action, what I do is every time a textfield is changed, change the value of the table visible from the field content of this section to the value of the invisible digital field that is now the current page number.  There are 7 sections, so if the text of article 2 field is changed, then update the Table of contents to sections 3-7.

  This has never answered, but I understand on mine.  Figured since it had 66 times, I would like to share what I found.  It was actually an easy fix.

  I added a textfield (set to display the current page number of the page on which it is) at the beginning of each section that appears in the table of contents and set it to always stay with the first line of text in this section as well as the document grew, the page number, in that the section begins will remain correct.  Place to hide it.  In the "binding" tab, I put the name is the same name as the corresponding heading in the table of contents.

  Hope this helps someone who is in my place last year. =)

That's what I do to my bands site. Does anyone know how to achieve this? I'm a little bit known for such things and learning ony.   For dynamic content, you need to a hosted database and script server to extract data from the database and display it on the page.  It will take you a while to get from here to there!  Start with a good knowledge of HTML and CSS and then segue into it.

• Print dynamic content with printJob

  Recently, I developed an application to help who built the interface and support all the hand and under navigation elements, content pages and dynamically associated resources. It was to make it easy to provide research and printing features, as well as an interface scalability. So my impression feature creates a MovieClip print layout (well to margins of 8.5 x 11 and printer) and load the appropriate text content, associated with the page visible on the screen when you press the "print" key.
  
  I thought that the impression was ready to go, but what I've discovered, is that, once you print a page of the request for resources to help this page prints instead of any other page that you print from there on out.
  
  My "print" key calls a function that pulls all the appropriate dynamic data (page title, content of the page, the names of the resources, etc.) and formats it as HTML and adds it to my MovieClips print text field layout (docPrint._txt).
  
  That function then calls my function printJob which creates an empty sprite, adds my movieclip print layout of this sprite, resizes the text field of the MovieClip print layout to properly fit in the margins of the printer, and print the file.
  
  Anyone have any ideas why my dynamic content print as the same page every time? Note that if I trace my text field content to my MovieClip content change print layout each time, but the impression remains the same.

  I am answering my own post I found a solution, although I'm now on bald of pulling all my hair. Hope this helps even a soul randomly in the future as the printJob class seems to be one of the most difficult to get help with or find the information concerning online.

  My code dynamically creates the contents of the print page based on the content of the screen on which the user currently displays in my application. My print functions were always print the first page that was printed to any page in the application, the user was viewing.

  As I learned to do, I was declaring the variables for my items printed in the root of my actionScript (outside of all functions so they can be accessed in all of functions).

  I had two variables:
  var docPrint:document = new document(); A layout of MovieClip for my printing page located in the my library
  var printPage:Sprite = new Sprite(); The Sprite to keep my fine MovieClip to feel like a sprite is required

  I also had two functions:
  docContentsLoad(); Responsible for content in docPrint Movieclip and formatted
  printJob(); Print job created adjusted for settings of the printer docPrint and sent print

  It turns out the solution the simplest was combine my two functions in one printJob function and place my two variables (docPrint & printPage) at the beginning of the function. Printing now works fine everytime. Repeat over and over the pages.

  My assumption is that the only way to truly deliver the print document should delcare the variables in the called function to print the document so that they are redeclares every time.

  You can use javax.portlet.PortletPreferences to change the prefrence. See doc of java for more information. You must find the key in the portlet. This can be done if you open the portlet in the workshop. Then, the time of execution, you can set the value of this key

• OE6 in XP, compaction of the lost files all emails. Anyone else done this?

  Using Outlook Express 6 with Win XP I compacted files as requested. next time, I used email all old messages were gone and never seen again. I've never used 'compact the file"once again - it was a disaster. Anyone else done this?

  If you compact, you will always lose messages at any given time.
   
   
  Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

  Recovery methods:
   
  If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
   
  To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
   
  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
   
   
  In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
   
  
  Note: If you have new messages in the folder you are go restore, move them to a folder first created user, or they will be lost. They can be moved once the old posts have been restored.
   
  
  Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
   
   
  Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
   
   
  First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
   
  
  If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
   
   
  If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

  A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
   
  
  Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.
   
  
  Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently.
