Required product key

My daughter had Windows XP and we have upgraded to Windows 7, its hard disk, and then became corrupted and we have installed Windows again, but after 30 days, he continues to ask for a product key.  Help!

The Windows 7 product key is located inside the plastic box (a corner is rounded) on the side of the acknowledgement of the Board insert.

So if you buy a Windows 7 upgrade version, you need to activate by phone.

(Note: you "can" be necessary to re - install XP if you have an 'Upgrade' of Windows 7 version)

  • Satellite L300 - product key Windows 7 required

Hello. I bought my Toshiba Satellite L300 in 2011 and it came with windows vista preinstalled. Some time later, we learned that Toshiba gave a free upgrade to windows 7. I got the install disks and install windows7. I had zero problems with my machine since and have been a very happy customer - until very recently.

I emptied my trash recently and for some reason, there were a few critics files in there, so now, my machine does not start. I don't know how they got there because they were in the trash administrator and I always use a subordinate user account - for security reasons.

Long story short, I tried to start my computer using the windows 7 installation disc which worked perfectly until I had to enter the product key. Unfortunately, the product key on the label of my laptop is for windows vista so I thought that it is not valid. I wonder if I can recover my product key of windows 7 from anywhere? Toshiba would have a record of what they could send me? I was informed by microsoft that I get from Toshiba.

To complicate things, I bought the laptop in Ireland, but now lives in South Korea, so I can't at home get the product key.

I have the Toshiba DVD upgrade, the product key would be there?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Toshiba does not provide a unique product for the Windows system keys.
Toshiba offers own recovery disks / averages in order to recover the laptop back to factory settings.

Windows system which is part of the image of Toshiba is already enabled and does not require the additional serial key.

  • I have a WIndows 7 Ultimate operating system failure and required a drive for a clean install. I have the product key, but Microsoft offers no English option.

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate active computer that was swarming (STRONGLY) of malware/virus/junk files/adware...

I think I have cleaned out, but want to do a clean to be sure install, but I have no partition recovery (may be erased by a virus?) and no recovery dick.

I went to the Microsoft website and entered my product key.  He has been recognized as Windows 7 Ultimate, but when I had to choose a language, English was not available.

Any solution, or should I continue to use the computer and all hope is clean?

EDIT - I installed the windows 10 (using an ISO image) on Windows 7.  I do not enter the product key when asked (the program said I could jump at this stage of the installation).  Installation went well.

I then checked to activate Windows 10 - it activated without any difficulty.

I will now try a clean install...

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

I have recived portable computer of the Government with windows pre installed 7professional but now I want to format and reinstal it I require the startup disk and product key (my OS is authentic)

If it's a copy of volume license installed, you will need to contact your employer to find the product key and get the installation files.

If it is preinstalled at the factory with Windows 7 Professional, then use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

  • Update Windows 8 pro 8.1 pro - product key/activation required?

I have a dell latitude E5530 it came preinstalled and active with windows 8 pro. I get guests to update to 8.1 and indeed when I go to store the link is available. However, I want to know if I need the product key for this upgrade? Will I need to reactivate after upgrade? If so how can I get the current installation product key? The upgrade will also default 8.1pro?

Thanks for your help, I know that these issues are pretty basic but I can't seem to find the answers in the son and I saw the charges based on complaints from upgrade so I'm trying to be careful.

The product key for the 8.0, you already is built into the system (it was on stickers on the laptops, but now it is embedded in the BIOS of the motherboard).

The 8.1 update is a service pack, so it won't change your product key or activation, and no new key is required.  It's just a set of updates.

  • Equium A60 - required OneNote product key

    Hi all

I recently changed the HDD on my Equium A60, because the original was defective.
I reinstalled the operating system and software, that it was delivered with the help of my DVD which is a copy kindly provided by Toshiba that I lost the original and additional recovery software CD.

I'm trying to use Office OneNote, but as I click on the icon and start the pc to install the suite of programs I wonder for its 25-character product key that should be on the sticker on the back of the CD case or on the certificate of authenticity.
The base of the laptop has the C of the A in windows XP and nothing else.

Is there a way I can retrieve the product key or demand one without having to pay the price of the product?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi budy

It is a delicate situation because the OneNote key has been placed on the sticker on the Toshiba Recovery CD which you have lost :(

I think that there is nothing to my friend because this key is unique and I think you will have to pay to get the other keys :(
In any case, perhaps you can ask the Toshiba ASP in your country if there is a way to get this key as well as the new CD of Toshiba \recovery.

If all goes well, they can help

  • Product key required - had to do a reinstall

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 who would nt boot in windows / safe mode or anything like that - nothing could fix.

I had to wipe the hard drive and do a reinstall BUT my product key was used and the train to say that I only have 9 days left.

Is there a way I can get information on the original OEM key that came on the phone?

If you have installed the operating system using the Microsoft installation disc this key will not help you. This license/product key belongs to original recovery image, that you got with your laptop and it is not a universal key that you can use with each installation of the OS.

When you use the Microsoft installation disk and you do not have valid license key, you can buy online and activate pre-installed operating system.

  • Product key required for Windows XP Service Pack 2 download.

I had to back up my data and reinstall Windows, yesterday. I downloaded Windows XP Service Pack 2 installation network for IT professional and developers using Dell's Support Package. Everything seemed to be working fine until I opened a Word 2002 document and asked for a product key. I ran Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and product key turns out to be xxxxx-xxxxx-GD6GR-K6DP3-4C8MT. What can I do?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a test free version comes preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you reinstalled Windows)?

  • After installation of SP2 my machine requires the reauthorization and revalidation. Does not accept the product key.

I put my machine running windows update last night, he installed SP2 from one day to the next. This morning I met with my usual logon screen. On logging into Vista asked for new authorization, I entered my product key on the back of the windows folder, and it has refused to accept it. I tried to use the phone and he wouldn't give me any group entry by phone number, automatic validation no longer works.

I built this machine myself about 12 months ago and its worked perfectly until now, I bought windows at a reputable dealer and he was completely valid and working ok until this update! Any help would be greatly accepted!

  • A full recovery requires manual entry of the product key Microsoft?

I was wondering if the HP System Recovery automatically included the Windows product key, or if it should be manually inserted after recovery?

The reason why I ask is because I can no longer view, read, or even make the code 25-digit number on the certificate of Authenticity on the bottom of the laptop, as it was literally brought to use.

If it isn't, can then someone tell me how I can get a new one, without having to purchase Windows 7 all over again?  Microsoft says that if one is come pre-installed OS, then the manufacturer must be contacted.

    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I use my valid product key XP Pro SP2 with my drive OEM XP Pro SP3 and still meet the requirements of Microsoft Genuine?

I had to wipe my hard drive due to a battle lost by a virus. My installation of XP Pro SP2 disk disappeared, so I used my XP Pro SP3 OEM disc to install Windows. When I used my valid product key XP Pro SP2 I was shocked to receive an invalid product key. I always ran Microsoft Genuine product and would like to know how to reach a genine advantage accreditation with my present prediciment. Any help would be appreciated and we thank you in advance.

    Hi KevinDitner,

I'm afraid, but you can't do that. Your product key Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) should be used only for the laptop which came with it.

You can get the CD of Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (SP2) by contacting the Support team customer Microsoft.
