  VMware Fusion 6.0.2 doesn't boot to the top of any virtual machine. Suite error messages may appear (German translation of error messages):

  * / dev/vmmon is not found, no such file or directory

  monitor the initialization failed

  * internal error

  / dev/vmmon does not exist as com.vmware.kext.vmx86 could not load, see below for excerpt of syslog.

  Already rebooted, repaired file system rights and manually uninstalled and reinstalled VMware Fusion 6. Follow the instructions in KB 1003484 (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1003484). Question persists.

  My hardware: MacBook Pro early 2011, model 8.2. OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

  Any ideas?

  Just discovered, that certain VirtualBox kernel extension which interfere with VMware Fusion.

  After you have uninstalled them via http://www.virtualbox.org/svn/vbox/trunk/src/VBox/Installer/darwin/DiskImage/VirtualBox_Uninstall.tool, VMware Fusion 6 now works.

  Remove all the drivers that you have installed previously, registry clean, restart.   Every time * (day) when I turn on PC, got the average of 25-30 errors *(event viewer), sometimes even more, if something randomly crash or install something more "complicated" then usual * (games).

  BTW, Using MSE - do not need something special because I already know how to do to protect myself and using the only safe sites.

  For example - day: 15/10/2013 * (almost all of them - the errors are at the same time ofc...).

  Errors: 16 - Source: Service Control Manager * (with random MSG that "service could start due..." or "timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds)" ect. ")

  Errors: 9 - Source: Research * ("cannot be initialized" or "problem with the indexer: the catalog is corrupted") ect. ect.

  Errors: 1 - Source: DistributedCOM * (on average 1 per day, usual).

  Errors: 1 - Source: ESENT * (also 1 per day on average, usual).

  Errors: 2 - Source: Kernel Event Tracing - ID 3 and 2 * (these 2 mistakes are usually on my usual pc - as I eat daily or breathe, all just in time).

  Errors of Wells 'ONLY' 29 HAHA. This is a 'HABITUAL' - usual day when I bot my PC won't even count the mistakes of games or other app that sometimes "ALSO" random crash or something, cause that will be to sad-.-.

  Q: I'm trying to solve this problem?

  I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

  Method 1: Base Windows XP search indexing troubleshooting

  a. confirm that you are connected to Windows with an account that has administrator privileges. The account doesn't have to be named 'Administrator', but can not be a normal user account.

  b. click on the "Start" button, then click on 'control panel '. Double-click "Administrative Tools". If you don't see this icon, click the "Switch to Classic view" link on the left side of the window.

  c. double-click "Services." Double-click on "Indexing Service" in the window that opens. If the value displayed next to "Startup Type" to "Manual" or "Disabled", click the menu drop-down and select 'Automatic' and then click on the button 'Start '. Click on 'OK '. This should solve the problem with the index; do not continue through the steps below, except if the problem persists. If the Indexing Service is already enabled, close the 'Services' and minimize the window 'administrative tools '.

  d. click on the "Start" button and then click on 'my computer '. Right-click on your hard drive, then click 'properties '.

  e. ensure a check in the box "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast searching of files". If the box is not checked, place a control inside and click on 'OK '. Note that it will take some time to apply this change to all files on the disc. If the box is not checked, the audit, it should solve the problem. If you continue to experience a problem with the search index, continue to Section 2.

  Method 2: Rebuild the Windows XP Search Index

  c. remove the control from the box "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching". Click on 'OK '.

  d. Select the radio button "apply changes α C:\, subfolders and files" and click "OK". Windows will exclude all files and folders on the disk being indexed. Be patient, as this process generally takes a lot of time to complete. If you receive an error, it's because indexing research cannot be enabled or disabled for some protected system files. Click "Ignore all" when prompted.

  e. Repeat steps b - d during the replacement of the check in the box "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk". Once more, be patient while you wait for this course ends. If you or another user accidentally excluded any files or folders on the hard drive being indexed, they will once more be indexed when this process is complete.
