  * Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.
  * Install the Service Pack 1 of Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1)
  * Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)
  * If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.
  * Try to close the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.
  * To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

  If it still does not work, then get an ASP to fix it.

  I installed Windows 7 Home premium in my laptop (windows Vista there) and since I can't use my webcam.

  It does not appear in Device Manager and I have install and uninstall the drivers of many times but whenever I see the message that says that the camera is either disconnected or destroyed and restart the computer or the camera.

  I have the Satellite A300 too with two hard drives inside. Second I ve installed Win7 32 bit and the webcam works perfectly so I m just really wondering what the problem may be.

  This is my first post! I just bought a whole new race of Toshiba Satellite U400 Vista Home Premium and I cannot get the wifi to work with my router (which works very well with a Toshiba Quosmio, philips, Nokia N85 phone and iPod laptop).

  I can't understand how get the audio works with built in chicony webcam when in a chat program or any program for that matter. I can record audio and reading later, but this isn't what I want to do. It's probably just something stupid that miss me... but any help would sure be appreciated... I tried with Windows Live and Yahoo messenger, and so far all I can do is wave to people LOL. I was never able to get it to work... any ideas?

  Today I bought a Logitech Quickcam for notebooks in case the problem is with the construction in camera. I don't want to install it unless absolutely necessary and think I would need to uninstall the Chicony to make it work... someone can point me in the right direction?

  I just want to be able to talk to my grandchildren...

  The webcam is already installed. Central webcam is software and is also already installed.   I use Windows Vista

  There are about 2 months in the beginning of the laptop problem, it restarts itself automatically before enter in windows (while in the windows loading screen, no blue screen, screen just suddenly darkens and restarts itself), but it will get finally in windows successfully after a few loops

  but about 3 weeks ago, it just keeps looping and never get into windows, good news, it is that it can capture mode safe without problem

  I've done everything I can to try and save, as play with msconfig, drivers, removing the Rams etc, but not luck

  so, I save everything in safe mode and decided to restore the machine factory, but the problem is that when I boot up the computer by pressing 0 and enters the recovery screen, reboot loop will happen!

  any idea? or y at - it another way to restore to factory without touching the windows installed in my laptop? is it a hardware problem or software?

  I thought about the creation of recovery disks but my cd drive is not working properly, and I don't want to take the risk of buying an external cd drive not knowing not if the problem can be solved...

  You must install the Chicony webcam software. The A300-22F seems belongs to the PSAGCE series, but you can try to install the webcam software that has been released for other A300 series.
