• Duration of slide within the slide display

  Hi guys,.

  I want to show the time of Durian slide within the slide as any text captions or forms. It has been shown in the background of the part of the menu. Display inside the slide. Is it possible to display the duration of the slide in captivate 8.

  

  They are fairly easy to get into HTML5 and SWF with a widget.

  The following code inserted in the Head section of the HTML5 index.html will countdown to the duration of the slide and reset with each slide. It fills a myTime variable user in a text caption.

• Replay button slide to the action series

  I am a beginner in Captivate find confusing and not as intuitive, so I need your help!

  I use 9 Captivate for a tour of the software. On the slide, a user clicks on a section highlighted (squares that are defined as buttons that can perform an Action advanced to hide the current and the next area). However, there is no way to 'reset' of the slide where the user must walk through the series of clicks. Even if you go to the next slide and then go back, it still shows the last action. Basically, clicking on Replay should bring them to action box 1.

  I know there is the way to go with the advanced Actions, I just can't figure out how. And I would do not also customize individually for each slide. Help!

  Seems that you could come to Captivate after using the Storyline articulate or a similar application where there is an option to have a slide to restore the original installation.

  Captivate of interactivity is strictly based on events.  So everything that happens has to be triggered by an event.

  In your slide with objects that have been displayed or hidden due to measures taken by the learner, you need to use another event any to trigger an action that puts everything back.  To do this is to use the event on slide enter and have this trigger a standard or a conditional Action that sets the State displayed or hidden all the relevant slide objects.  If you run this action whenever you enter the slide, then it will always look the same.

  And YES, you should not set this for each slide.

• How to reset the default settings for the adjustment brush presets. for example, dodge, burn, etc. ?

  Is there a way to reset the brush setting to factory settings? If I put a PIN on a photo using "burn", for example, it has a default value of negative exposure which is supposed to be there, and then I can change this value to get the effect I want on photography. If I want to then go back to the factory setting and put another pin on a different part of the picture and can't remember what the correct value has been set at the factory, how can I reset it?

  Select the brush and click twice on the effect of the speech. Or you can double-click any pointer cursor to reset an individual slider.

• Reset button works once

  If this has been posted previously, I apologize; but I searched and could not find.

  Using Captivate 5, I create a custom quiz question is not using the tools of quiz because my client love not (don't get started me).  It's a simple question with two text input boxes to enter the letter corresponding to the correct definition.  Although we check accuracy, there is no real rating or retention of partition. They must get it right to move, however.  Since there is really no way to clear a field of text entry I can find, I use stocks advanced with a button try again to move to the next slide.  This next slide is a dummy that simply returns to the previous slide, so reset the whole slide including TEB.

  Here's the problem: it works only once.  Will they be wrong and then click Retry, it works perfectly.  But then if they insist on being wrong again, and then click Retry, it does not work.

  Someone has an idea of what I should check here?

  Update: even went to the extent of the call to Adobe, who said they cannot help me because this is the version 5 and not 6.  Finally create a workaround solution.  Left a dummy next button in there that do not break and no programming at all, has extended the duration of the slide and programmed the onExit action to access the following content slide (slide 42).  So programmed my send code to add has to continue at the end of the correct branch to keep the timeline to play.  Result being that if you get what is good, you get the correct feedback and the slide is sitting there for 10 seconds and then moves. I tested and it works always.  I am convinced there is a problem in the basic coding that makes the problem happens with the buttons.

• Help - start a slide from the beginning

  Hi all.  I am a newish user and cannot find this answer...

  I created a slide with a few buttons and feedback according to what the button is pressed (not a slide of questionnaire, just do it from scratch).  If the user clicks the wrong button, it is said, "go back to the last slide for review, and then try again.»  After checks and comes back, he gets the feedback instead of the buttons.  I wanted to 'reset' of the slide at the beginning so he can try again.

  Hi Meg,

  You will need a tip action that will be triggered at the entrance to this slide to do this reset. As you explain it, probably a standard action could achieve this goal: hide legend with the feedback text, display the buttons. I guess you want to never go on the slide with the reactions of visible and invisible buttons? I could post a screenshot of the action, but please let me know what version of CP you use. This work around is possible since version 4 on.

• Restart the Widget slide

  Hi all

  Thanks for the research.

  I was just curious if there was a way to create a widget that would just reread the current slide.  Essentially, at the end of each slide, I want to give the user the possibility to go to the next slide, go back a slide or restart the current slide.

  Now, I know theoretically they could just go back and then forward, but I would prefer that streamline for users and just a reset if possible slide button.

  I have a little research around this forum and google and has been surprised to not really get what it is.

  Also, as an aside, anyone else experienced problems in the strange place widgets on slide masters?  I tried to put a button 'Next' on a master slide, then link all the slides to the slide, but when I do captions on a timeline in a random slide slide one break and the button is not always functional.  I find that I could do the functional key in ensuring that this is the 'top', but that still doesn't explain why it would stop a slide in halfway with no user interaction.

  It's a widget in AS3, so it does not work in Adobe Captivate 4 AS3 projects and, of course, Adobe® Captivate® 5.

• JAWS and Cp 7.01.237 - not best friends?

  The construction of a requirement of 508 who uses IE and JAWS 14 on a Windows 7 computer using the version of Captivate 7.01.237. I'm going to say before we made 508 accessible pdfs who received notes very high mobility and reduced groups of users, but are not considered other than "accessory" accessibility by the tester of Government (don't know why)

  Running in this laundry list under test on the cloud of SCORM and by applying JAWS:

  1. JAWS reads the script variable in a text instead of the output box (example bed: "$$cpInfoCurrentSlide$ $ $$rdinfoSlideCount$ $ ' instead of '1 of 2' and reads" $$ cpInfoProjectName$ $cpInfoDescription$ $"rather than"Lesson1 - JAWS is bad")
  2. If a button with three States (selected, reversal and unselected) JAWS reads that three buttons and two have name, role and state information.
  3. JAWS will not read boxes of your comments on any of the question slide, period.
  4. If you define an action to disclose information once the user makes a choice by selecting a menu item or button, any change that results on the page is not necessarily read immediately after the selection.
  5. Opening a table of contents of the PlayBar is easy, closing it is almost impossible to JAWS
  6. A COT overlay creates an expand/collapse button as a tab on the corner of the table of contents who cannot receive an accessibility label.
  7. Immediate access to a table of contents decreases the effectiveness of JAWS. The development and the flow is lost and cannot be reset - all the slides to start at the of the table of contents and JAWS reads "end flash" - is the only way to start to until the beginning of the slide, press the up arrow key repeatedly.
  8. Opening a document or a linked swf is an act of barbed wire - if you close it and JAWS is not centered on the open project, it is difficult to return to the project, and still less to return where you stopped.
  9. With the help of a glossary widget works, but it is difficult at best to get out and close it without running through each active letter and the title and content bars, which is aging rapidly.
  10. Smart shape buttons is not accessible without the help of shortcut keys.

  PLEASE NOTE: If you are lucky enough to have a 508 testing service that reads the law in a way that allows you to create JAWS (or other screen reader) the .pdf accessible to meet the requirements of the Act, no further information following should be a problem, since users with low vision will have access to your content in the document. However, my experience has been that there is no agreement on the question of whether the pdf document meets the requirements of Section 508 (e.g., a Department, I worked for did not PDF to use at all, another Department considered a 'nice supplement' - after initially being particularly enthusiastic about their use as the main alternative.)

  FYI - heard of Adobe and I wanted to share with other designers of 508-disputes - '[sexy]' = Adobe

  [Sexy]: objects are read by JAWS based on the Z index in the timeline. Say for example, you want a legend of text shown at the click of a button of course you place text caption upward in the index-Z next to the button. ()So, set up your reading order from the bottom of the timeline to the top... or maybe not - I'm still working with it)

• Slideshow AutoPlay value does not work after loading a pdf file

  Hello

  While developing our application, we encountered a problem whereby on a page of the article, we've added a slideshow feature set to autoplay to display different images and also we have created a button link to a PDF file that we added in the application to allow users to get more information about the images in the slide show.

  We noticed that the slide show is playing, and when we launched the pdf file and close it again, the slide show stops playing. It is not reset. The slide show stops just to the image on when we launch the pdf.

  All solutions?

  That is how they operate. Slideshow to pause when you open a browser in app. There is no setting to change/configure this behavior.

• Slide menu resets when re-visited-9 Captivate

  I'm fairly new to Captivate and so far have been really impressed.

  The only problem I had is that I created a module to a 4 elements. The user chooses what chapter they want to do, and then at the end of this chapter they come back on the menu in order to select the chapter they wish to fill then. I created action so that when the user returns to the menu, the chapter they finished appears occult on so that they can see their progress.

  The problem I have is that, while it shows the most recent complete chapter that blanked out, others given to not be eclipsed. It's as if the blade is re-loading and the States of the object are reset.

  Is it possible to stop what is happening?

  Yes, the States of the object will be reset.  You talk like you can come from a background of scenario where this problem is controlled by a different method.

  In Captivate, if you want the slide menu to look a certain way according to the sections that have been opened then you will need to use variables and conditional Actions Advanced.

• Reset when returning to him slide

  I have a Captivate 8 with a slide that has an image and audio file. But also that there are two buttons - each button stop the hand slide audio to play a separate audio. (this is a safety course, so the main audio explains the alarms, then the buttons to play samples of these two types of alarm). He used a tip action to show the items grouped on screen, one of them is the separate audio file.

  It's that everything works fine until I go back to the slide by clicking Next, then the previous button.

  You will need to use the event to enter the slide to trigger another action advanced/shared that resets everything in its original state. For the most part, that means hide objects that are proved by action, deactivation/activation of the interactive objects that have been enabled/disabled, stopping audio objects (if you used those to read the separate audio clip) or use the command shutdown triggered audio system if you started the audio clip with 'Play '. You don't specify how you played audio clips.

  Students can trigger audio and make the images to display by clicking the items on my slides.  The problem is that these things are still displayed when the learner leaves the slide and back to him.

  Do not use the event to the output, please, it's not to be trusted. But, Yes, you will need a reset action on enter to the slide (much better). There is no way to "quick".

  Go to Quiz > Quiz preferences > success or failure > if lack of rank > allow the user and define attempts something higher to 1.

  You will see then the check box show the button resume.

  I have a few slides of simple content on which I have two sets of items stacked text and image. The first set is visible at the entrance. The user clicks a button continue on the slide to display the second set. A "back" button appears allowing the user to return to the first series.

  What I'm trying to understand is how to reset the blade to its open position, when the user clicks Next, then leave the slide. I'm not under that with a playhead Captivate as the swf file is inserted into an LMS System.

  Yes, is there a variable that I create for the slide "on exit" to trigger a reset? I looked through the cmd he variables and do not see one that does this. And I tried to use just the same script that I associated with the Back button, but that didn't work.

  You must build a tip Action that HIDES all objects that are not supposed to be visible on the blade when it is launched and shows all objects that should be visible.  While AA must be performed on the entry of the slide from the slide in question.  This way, no matter where your user enters the blade of it will be put in place as it should.

  Drag and Drop Interaction works similar to another question slide if it is included in the Quiz. IE if you answer it correctly, or if your attempts are more then it wont allow to resume interaction drag / move with in the same scope of Quiz. But if you try several Quiz (Quiz preferences > Attemps), it allows to resume interaction in your next Quiz attempt.

  or if it is not included in the Quiz, it resets the interaction on each slide to enter.
