Reset the library in Windows Media Center on Vista Ultimate

Any way to reset Media Center, so it restores the library of images, video and audio?  I need to start all over again because it won't let me control my own destiny.

Media Center has found all kinds of stuff on my readers that I don't want to appear in its menus.  No, it's not _, but I can't see how this could be a real problem.  Is finding all sorts of photos of various I don't want not shown.  I wouldn't have to revamp my hard drive in an attempt to hide the stuff of Media Center.  That's all just crazy!  Media Player 11 is much better behaved.

Once Media Center detects something it got him to it!  At least it seems that way to me.

It would be a great improvement if Media Center show you a list of files that it finds and then gives you the ability to remove or add to this list.  MS apparently he dumbed down so that you can do.  Then after that it's must rescan and update everything.  Media Center development team please talk to the development of Media Player 11 team and see how they do.

Apparently, it cannot detect that I moved my Public folder to another drive.  He is always looking for C:/users/Public and won't give up his research there.  I empied on all my music, video, photos, etc. under my user so it won't find anything be it next time around.  Now, I just need to find a way to reset the library from scratch.  It would be a nice option to have on task!

Another option would be to score a registration file in Media Player/Media Center with a power button set with a right click on the folder.  Carbonite for that because he's back in line ups and it couldn't be simpler!

This is really an excellent product to be almost useless for me.

BajaPaul,

Windows Media Center takes advantage of your information to the Windows Media Player library. We will need to edit your library here.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

Add or remove watched your library folders:

Open Windows Media Player, click on the library tab and choose the type of media (video, music, photos, recorded TV) then press F3 on your keyboard to open the Add to library window, press Advanced Options, make your selections for your library folder (by selecting Add, Remove, ignore or Enable), click on OK.

Now, let's remove existing content unwanted from your library:

Press on the library tab, choose the type of media (video, music, photos, recorded TV). Now select library in the left panel, displays, select file. You can now right click on the folder you want, and then select delete, to the notification area select delete from library only, press on OK. Alternatively, you can right-click on any multimedia file and follow the steps above to remove.

Note: Pictures and video in Windows Media Center libraries automatically monitor your current user photos and video records. Any multimedia content added to these folders will be automatically analyzed in your Media Center, which includes the folder Public under C:/Users, place only the content you want to add them.

  • Audio stuttering then crash by watching the video with Windows Media center

I'm having a problem with Windows Media Center which seems to have left me speechless. Whenever I have try and watch live TV or recorded using Media Center program, he starts to play to repeat the first second of audio for about 6 seconds and then stops playing gives me an video error and won't let watch me something else. I have a Setup Xbox 360 as an Extender and having no problem whatsoever. The strange thing is that, if I open the program saved directly from Explorer windows with media center, it will play well. If I stop and try and then click RESUME He stutters and gives me this video error.
It used to work fine until I started to play with the audio settings from 5.1 to 7.1 audio in the windows configuration settings. I changed the settings in-game your 7.1 speakers. Actually I tried to switch back, but when I try to 'Test' the speakers it gives a sound like it is stuttering and I still get the video error when I try to play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may need to reset if necessary WMC.

    Run the Setup again.

Open WMC > tasks > settings > General > installation Windows Media Center > rerun the installation

    Does that help?

If the above does not help then try to reset WMC: -.

Open Control Panel > uninstall a program > turn Windows features on or off > scroll multimedia features > uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > follow the instructions on the screen > Reboot > open again to turn Windows features on or off in the control panel > scroll multimedia features > check the box against Windows Media Center.

    Now reconfigure WMC again.

You can also go for a System Restore-select any restore point when it did not have this problem.

  • Lose the metadata between Rpping and recently added to the library in Windows Media Player 11

    Hello

I am running XP Pro SP3 with Windows Media Player 11.  When I copy a cd, I am able to see all metadata for the album, wallets, etc...  After extraction of the CD, when I go to the library and look in the library recently added, the album metadata disappears and I have to do an Album Info find all over again.   Is there a setting I need to use to keep the library metadata of the tear of the album?

    Thank you!

I suggest that you try to reset the library, by following the instructions for WMP 11 on XP at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

    Who help me?

  • Restore the computer with windows media center, but I am asked for a second disk. I don't have this drive.

I had a big problem with my computer. It came with windows xp professional installed and it has windows media center. I wanted to restore my computer to its original state. I put in the first disc of the Media Center and it worked very well. He told me to delete disk1 when he did and install service pack 1 disc. There is no such disk included. AM I also supposed to have a disk of windows xp professional too, cause I don't have. Need help restoring my computer. Right now I can't really do anything with it. (Use another computer to write it).

  • Error "Invalid Application" - failed to launch at the launch of Windows Media Center.

Original title: Windows Media Center Edition:

Current operating system: Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP2, latest MS Silverlight installed

Freshly installed, all updates up to SP2, whenever I have open Windows Media Center, and then select Internet TV (TV + movies) I get an error stating:

    «INVALID APPLICATION - unable to launch «»

Nothing opens and I see all the icons TV.  I then click on the OK button and the app closes back to TV + movies (TV recorded - by default).  I can click on Play DVD, no problem.  I can click on the Netflix plugin (once again no problem).  The question seems to exist ONLY when I select 'Internet TV'.  I don't have a TV Tuner card in the machine, as well as setting up is not an option.

Note: I am a COMPUTER technician for over 20 years and have researched the matter only of trying many fixes that don't work not including:

    • sfc/scannow (does report no error)
    • CHKDSK (no corruption of reports)
    • reinstalled MS silverlight
    • Installed the Netflix option
    • Parameters, make sure all the General internet settings are selected correctly
    • Disabling the firewall/AV
    • Change Windows MCE receiver opening Service of the Local Service Network Service logon

Except to call Microsoft and forking over $99 - nobody knows what is the cause?

    Additional information:

After starting Windows Media Center, and then selecting TV + movies, under the heading Internet TV a bit dimmed it says "BETA".  Not sure if this has something to do with it.  Also on my laptop which has Windows 7, the Windows Media Center interface is different and seems to work without problems.  What gives?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!
