Restarting the player problem
Hi friends... I made a simple application which streams. WAV files on net... now recently m get this problem...
After streaming began and the song ends... If I call "player.start" again to restart the song streaming, it gives me the following exception...
MyApplication (125) the application does not. process is complete...
There is no reason apparent is that this is due... Some1 can you please throw some light on it...
and by the way, I took each exception when starting the player... including the parent "Exception"...
You can't take this one - this exception is thrown by the disaptcher, and that means that you the app has stopped maintenance of the queue of the event, which results in an overflow.
This means that something has "blocked" your thread main event.

My WMP said that I need to connect a burner and restart the player?
For long time now Ive been burning cd and just recently my WMP started getting a message saying I needed to connect a burner, and then restart the player. It goes the same for extraction, he said "A CD DRIVE IS NEEDED in order to RUN RIP". I don't know why he started to do this, he has never been a problem before. I have a laptop HP Pavilion with Vista Home Premium. Is there anything I can do to restore or solve my dilemma? Advice or answers would be useful.
Thank you

I can't burn my CD on Windows Media Player error "connect a burner and restart the player.
I have a bunch of files music m4a songs bought on iTunes that are on the Windows Media Player. I insert a blank CD, and he refuses to burn the songs. I put it in my laptop, go to the option burn and it says "connect a burner and restart the player ' and doesn't read that there is a CD in there, even if there is. Even if I put all the songs I want in it, it won't work. I need help.
No problem, at least it's a step forward that it is not only the media player.
At this point if the CD-ROM drive does not at all, it could be a couple of things.
- First of all, just make sure under the folders under the view tab Options, that the "hide empty drives" is not selected. It could make your CD-ROM writer hidden just because there is no data in there at the moment.
- The drive appears not could also be that it is disconnected, but it's not terribly likely.
- Check Device Manager to see if the CD drive is listed, and if she has any warnings associated with it. You can open the Device Manager by performing a search in the search box of the start menu. Locate the CD drive in the list, and then double-click it to view the status. He can say everything is fine, or can provide details on all issues. Also, while you're here, you can check an updated driver. But this brings me to the next point...
- If the driver he is already up to date, it is interesting to watch your your model computer manufacturer Web site see if they have a newer version. Sometimes Device Manager detects outdated drivers and uses, when the manufacturer's website has something more recent.

Hi Noralie,
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
It seems that you are facing problems while burning the disc using Windows Media Player. It would be great if you can answer the following questions:
1 have had any changes made on the computer before the show?
2. What is the full and exact error message?
3. what type of disc you are trying to burn?
To resolve this issue, follow these methods:
Method 1:
I suggest to see the link and try to run the Troubleshooter:
Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter

When I try to burn an audio CD with Windows Media Player, I get the message "connect a burner and restart the player.
I am able to burn audio CDs using ITunes, so I don't think that my CD/DVD burner is defective.
Thanks for your help. The "fix it" has not worked, but I checked the settings of my Nero 8, Nero Toolkit, Nero Burn Rights program, and he was the one who said "everyone has burn rights" or "nobody burn rights. When I changed the option to "everyone", everything started to work properly.

"Connect a burner and restart the player.
Message in Windows Media Player 11 with Windows XP SP3 on the laptop Toshiba A9.
I have burned CDs and DVDs with this drive (some months ago). It's my optical drive only.
Windows recognizes the drive writable [D drive properties shows the 'Registration' tab and 8 x write speed (CDR, CDRW)].
[I had to modify the player registry data for the 'Recording' tab to show (changed drive value from 3 to 2), as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316529]
Before and after editing the registry, said Microsoft Fix - It tool the "selected drive is not able to write ' (tool = Mats_Run.dvd.exe). A curious inconsistency with the previous paragraph?
The car driver is up-to-date according to an analysis by Driver Boost Pro.
I'm stuck now. Need help!
The player is 3 years old, but little used, especially for writing.
Step 1: Back up the registry, in order to back up the registry so that you can restore it if you have problems later, follow these steps:
- Click Startand then click run.
- In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Click to open the following folder:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD Burning\Drives
- On the file menu, click export.
- In the file name box, type backup of drives key, note the location where you save the file and then clickSave.
Note If you have any problems later, you can restore this registry subkey by double-clicking the backup of drives Key.reg file that you saved.
Step 2: Change the value of the file volume drive type to change the type of drive so that Windows recognizes the drive as a recordable, follow these steps:
- In the navigation of the Registry Editor window, click the folder {Volume under Drives, where is an identifier of 32 characters.
Note If your computer has more than one CD drive, an extra {Volume} folder is listed for each drive.
- In the right-hand side of the Registry Editor window, double-click Drive Type.
- In the value data box, type 1, if the drive is a CD - R drive or 2 if it is a CD - RW drive.
- Click OK, and then close the registry editor.
Step 3: Verify that Windows recognizes the drive as a recordable device to see if Windows recognizes the drive as a recordable device now, follow these steps:
- Click Startand then click my computer.
- Under devices with removable storage, right-click the CD - R or CD - RW drive and then click Properties.
- If the recording tab is displayed, Windows recognizes the drive as a recordable device.
- Click Cancel.
If Windows detects the drive as a recordable device, you should be able to burn data on a CD now. If you still have problems, follow the steps described in the section "troubleshooting."

Acrobat 8 Professional does not work when trying to open .pdf documents. Repair instructions does not work. I use OS X El Captain on my mac. However, if I click on the tab to cancel the program request to make changes to the my computer and when I give permission to the program corrections and to open documents (also the work of program OK after the corrections are installed). Media Player 11 error: "connect burner and restart the player ' when trying to burn a CD
Original title: Media player 11 on dell e510 in XP.
When I try to burn a cd with media player, have a message 'connect burner and restart player' and burn is dimmed. I have a sony crx310ee internal d ' training. Media Player will play cd but does not recognize the burner. Was able to burn with Roxio but uninstalled trying to get media player to work. Have you tried to update the driver, but I'm told that nobody no more recent is (over 3 years). Removed upper and lower filters. Have not unhooked by car and restarted. Do you have a regedit and changed the 3 to 2 Volume guid value. This adds the record to the properties of the drive button. Have run convenience store and it reports the device is not a burner, which is incorrect.
Help!
Yes! Think my problem is resolved. Had ignored a suggestion to uninstall the burner and reboot. This seems to have solved the problem since I just burn a CD using media player.
