Restore factory opens not in Windows 8

I have an Aspire V3 which has become very infirm. As the laptop was not in my care before now, I had tried to use the option restore factory settings in the management of the recovery tool, but when I click on the button restore, nothing happens.

I tried running windows 8 in safe mode, but also pressing alt + f10 at startup upward. Nothing seems to work. Is there a way I can reset this short using a pre-made recovery disk?

It came with Win 8 and you upgraded to Win 8.1? This upgrade seems to mess with recoveries.

Have you tried that?

1. press on the windows (Image: icon_Windows8_key.png) + C or by scanning from the right edge of the screen to open your charms.
2. click search, and then type Recover.
3. click on Acer Recovery Management.
4. select restore factory settings.
5. click on next.
6. Select clean disk entirely.
7. click on reset.
Your computer will restart and launch the restore process. Once completed, it will restart and begin the initial installation of Windows to address process.

the title says most of it. I got a virus which, for some reason usually let me open all windows programs or all programs like antivirus things or anything that would be useful at all, but ideally he always allows me to get on google chrome. Ive been reading around to see what is my problem and I can say that I should be good if I can just force a restore or get my computer in SafeMode somehow, but even that does not work. When I restart my computer, even if I press f8 when it is placed in service or f12 at the logo screen to get restart options, it does nothing. I see a way to solve this problem, unless theres another way to get into safe mode or perhaps force a system restore sort.

    Hello

First of all, it is rare that system restore will fix a virus problem. You should focus on access to safe mode to resolve this problem.

Check if you need to hit a function key lock before the F key working in the mode you want. You can also try this, even if the bug can block: click Start and type msconfig, then the . Click on continue in the UAC prompt. Go to the Startup tab, select the line of safeboot and click apply/ok. It should encourage them to restart and will automatically load safe mode.

Once in safe mode, you will want to run full system scans with your favorite antivirus and antispyware software. You can also use malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org) as a method to remove bugs.

  • After restoring factory and updates for Windows 7, the system now asks passwords

Recently had to do a factory restore on a toshiba laptop with windows 7 preinstalled top. has restarted the machine once he had comepleted and now it says Admin profile is locked and my username and password do not work

1 - password was never set on the user profile. (Yes it may have been stupid not to do that for security, but that a person uses the laptop)

2nd why admin profile has been locked?

3rd - without having a password to disk or save it on a USB key, how can I get around this?

4th - also why Microsoft charges to ask questions and get support on their own products?

    * original title - Windows 7 - had to factory restore after updating to windows 7. now, cannot connect to admin or normal user logon. said needs password. PASSWORDS were never defined for this? Please advise *.

    no disc to try this.

Ive managed to get it to load the office by changing the settings via safe mode, but with a full restore (some missing drivers, IE the sound card), it always seems to be filled with questions. It runs terribly slow now and still doesn't let me do half of what I need to do to restore its former glory.

at the present time, this will make a nice door stop or decoration of the table such that it cannot serve to something else other than to gather dust.

does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this problem that began after I installed the latest update of windows 7, 2 days ago.

    Try this:

To access the system recovery environment in Windows 7, simply start your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system. Press the [F8] key function 8 on your keyboard which will launch the menu Advanced Boot Options. You will see a new option "Repair your computer", select this option and press 'Enter' on your keyboard.

This will allow you to start system recovery environment and access to the same tools.

  • Applications Windows 8 not opening not and windows store hangs on the splash screen

Basically, none of the applications opens and when I click on the store it will open the screen green spash and then crash.

I used the troubleshooter of app windows 8, which he says he has solved the problem and asks me to restart, which I do and the apps don't always work.
I deleted all my recent programs, but this has not fixed it.
I have now uninstalled my antivirus and firewall, but they still do not work
Could someone help me solve this problem?
    Thank you

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

I understand from the description of the issue, that the store Windows and applications do not work on your computer Windows 8.

    1. do you receive an error message when you try to launch applications?
    2. is it works much earlier?
    3. using a proxy connection?

Here are a few methods, we can try that these measures could help set the question of the application.

Method 1: Please change the resolution and check if that helps.

    a. press Windows + x, click or tap command prompt (Administrator).
    b. navigate to the command prompt, type desk.cpl.
    c. Please change the resolution of the screen 1366 * 768.

    Method 2:

Since you aren't able to access the Windows store I suggest you turn off the proxy connection, and check again.

    a. click the gear box in the upper right corner in internet explore.
    b. click on tools and then click Internet Options.
    c. click on the Connections tab, then click LAN settings.
    d. Select the use a proxy server for your LAN check box.
    e. in the address box, type the address of the proxy server.
    f. in the Port box, type the port number.

    Method 3:

I suggest you to reset the cache to store and check if you are able to open the store.

    To do:
    a. press the Windows key + R
    b. Type wsreset.exe and press to enter.

It will be useful. For any other corresponding Windows help, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Any help would be appreciated... Gateway is only interested to collect money.  They have no interest in serving the poor suckers who buy their products (computer is 2 years old so it is out of warranty).

    Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately, I solved the problem myself (after 19 hours of stress).
The problem is that the recent hard disk has something different that no longer ages and makes pre-service pack 1 (SP1 solves the problem) versions of Windows 7 incompatible. My set of recovery disks have been created the day I bought the computer, which had no windows updates installed at the time.

There is an "easy solution" on the Microsoft support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us

Unfortunately, their method works only if you have a Windows 7 installation disc, which does most of the people who buy computers pre-built manufacturers. Essentially, the solution is to install SP1 from a disc when don't give you the possibility to load drivers during installation, an option that the gateway recovery disks.

So I thought that, theoretically, if I use my recovery discs to get a clean install on a hard drive that works, then use windows update to get updated (or at least to get SP1), and then make a set of NEW recovery disks (using windows backup: start > all programs > maintenance > Backup and Restore), I should be able to use these discs to install the new hard disk.

    It worked.

So for someone else who has this same problem with new hard disks, I hope that the above is easy to understand. If not, ask someone else more savvy and show them this thread. Do not forget that at the end to create new recovery disks, it will ask you if you also want to create a 'system' repair disc. DO THIS! This is the disk that you need to start from when you are ready to install.

Also: If your new hard drive is bigger than the one that you have created the new recovery disks, the partition on your new hard drive (once everything is installed) will be the same size as the one that you have created the records on. You will need to use a kind of editor of score for re - size. I recommend Gnome Partition Editor. http://www.gparted.org

Burn gparted Live CD and him, resize your partition, and you're done (google for more in-depth instructions).

Thank you, theloungelizardK, for the offer on the ISO, but I don't need. :)

  • HP Envy h8 1409: just restored to factory default and now windows 8 is not activate! Help, please!

Recently, my PC started a little all around to have massive problems that I don't mind going into details, but I decided that after 2-3 years to possess, I would restore it factory default. It hurts but it would be a good idea, because I knew that windows are installed on it and apparently, this model is supposed to just reinstall without any problem...

    Hello

If the original HP recovery partition is intact then you should be able to create the recovery media.

Before attempting to improve once again, use a hard drive of commerical known reliable product imaging in the image of your hard drive to external media.  This will save you a lot of time and effort, if you never experience questions requiring to return to a fresh factory restore and then have to go through the whole update process again. The image will also save you if your hard drive fails.  If the HP recovery media is the plain W8 then take the shot.  Then after all the updates are applied and your with set success to date to W8.1 and then take another picture.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • Updated Windows 8 do not install on restored factory new facility.

I recently factory to restore a computer, which was installed with Windows 8. I tried repeatedly, apply updates Windows 8 to be able to install Windows 8.1

What baffles me, is how installs it fail on a computer 'brand new '. It is without anything installed after the factory restore. Whenever I try to apply the updates, I get the message "failed Windows Setup updates. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer. »

I tried to install updates by using the boot option, ran the update problems (claims the problems have been fixed), with and without the (Norton) antivirus running, tried sfc/scannow (no problem), chkdsk /r (no problem), memory (memory tested fine) test, drivers updated, deleted the software AMD catalyst without success.

All by performing the updates, only the mouse and software (wire, wireless not) are connected to the computer. I tried all the possible solutions I found in the forums to find a solution. I don't understand how a facility, which is supposed to be direct from the factory, can not install updates. Is it possible to apply all updates, such as service packs earlier, or install Windows 8.1 without having first apply updates?

    If it helps, it's a HP Pavilion 20, with a processor AMD E1-1200, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 8.

The problem is the 8.1 Windows deployment by the Windows store is just buggy, leading to problems during installation and reduced performance. Also, you are using an HP printer, and therefore its probable that the original image has a lot of bloatware pre-installed which does not help. The particular system you have purchased must have also taken some time to sell because most of the systems were sold with Windows 8.1 opposed to 8 for some time.

You are advised to clean the Windows 8.1 with 1 update installation directly, ignoring all the hassle of upgrading to Windows 8.1 via the Microsoft Store. To prepare a Windows 8.1 with 1 FAT32 USB Bootable update a UEFI BIOS and GPT partition scheme, see here:

  • Restore disk will not work need a windows copy XP where can I find one?

My hardrive broken so I am new and my restore disk does not work where can I get a version of windows to put it on a floppy disk and use it on my computer OSless.

    XP has disappeared.

your best bet is to work with the manufacturer of your laptop, maybe they xp on their shelves.

also, the restore disks may require specialty measures to run for them to be activated.

so for the two cases above, visit your computers home site and look for the model number of your laptop for the faq on the help of restore disks / recovery discs / factory restore.

by the way, how broken is the old hard drive?

He must have a hidden section on it with all the preserved original software which can be used to restore the hard disk.

but this section could also be copied into the new HDD as well, according to which 'broke' implies.

by the way, is that the technician who replaced your hard drive take a look at the restore disks too?

  • R51 new HARD drive will not restore factory correctly state with discs

I caught a HDD of 80 GB on old computer my gf, and I thought I would use it to replace the 40 GB hard drive in my ThinkPad R51.  There is not really important info on my old hdd, so I just created a factory recovery disks, put on the new hard drive (both are PATA) and ran from Rescue and Recovery.  After completing restore to factory state all the new hard drive will do is Rescue and new Recovery charge.  It does not load Windows.  Is there anything else I need to do?

Shot in the hip here, but ISTR that some versions of R & R restore the image of 'restoration' in HD, then you restart to R & R and run a restore it to complete the restore of the rest of the car.

As I said, just something I've seen elsewhere.  Worth, perhaps,

  • Dell Mini 10 1018 Factory Restore - user does not know how to use the Dell utility

I was running a starter edition of Windows 7 and decided to go with a picture own factory before moving on to Windows 10. My mistake was thinking that recovery Dell utility would work.

I created a restore 8G USB key using the included Dell utility. I reboot from the USB and restore to factory. He gets the part of the way through and then seems to get confused, re - access scripts folder TAL and stuck in a reboot loop.

    Help!

Update - Yes, it's a problem to the user. I did not notice the cleaning Sysprep prompt shortly after the resumption. If it is not allowed to run, Sysprep never ends. I have not seen documentation on this, but in my last attempt, I must have selected the appropriate parameters for the cleaning of Sysprep to get off the machine and let Windows finish the installation.

    Mduh9,

Glad that you solved it all. Eventhough, 10 Windows can install on your computer and load default drivers. Dell has not any Windows 10 drivers for the mini and did not check Windows 10 for this computer. Make sure that you back up your data before installing Windows 10 in case it does not work.

  • Will not respond XPS 15 F8 key to restore factory image

Have a XPS L501X 15 I'm cleaning up to part with. Have all my personal data offshore and uninstalled all the software, which I have added. Went to my Dell online manual for restoring factory image whose starting point was to press the F8 key when the Dell logo appears, to access the advanced boot options. Have done so several times during the past 20 years with my Dell computers, usually F2 for access settings. This computer works well when I hit F2 for Setup and F12 for boot options. But he will not answer the F8 key to bring up the options of early start had to do the original image. Have tried 30 times or almost and it just keeps loading windows. y at - it another way to access this screen, or something else I can try. I have had no other problems with the computer. Ran the Dell hardware diagnostics and everything this past... Loooked in the D partition and it appears the Dell image restore files are all there, I just can't get the F8 to get to them. I made no changes or done anything with the D partition, and the hard drive is the original.

You must press F8 several times similar to what I've done here:
