Restore, retrieve only a subset of the tablespaces and open the DB

RDBMS Version: 11.2.0.4

Platfomrm: Oracle Linux 6.4

I have the backup of a production of 2 TB DB in the Strip. For a quick drill to DR, I want to restore, recover this DB on a TEST server.

But we do not have 2 TB of space of the TEST Server diskgroup. So, I want to jump restore all tablespaces business and just restore those minimal as SYSTEM, SYSAUX. If I jump of tablespaces, I'll be able to open the DB? I want to just give a try to restore.

Hello

Yes, you can ignore the unwanted (business tablespaces are by your terminology) storage during RMAN restore and recover and you will be able to open the database.

RMAN > restore database skip tablespace, ,,;

RMAN > recover database skip tablespace, ,,;

How to skip unwanted tablespaces of restoration & recovery

Kind regards
Shivananda

    Hi all.
I have a Service Proxy with the type of Messaging Service that read xml from a message queue.
Type of Message in the proxy request is xml and I have provided the type information by stating (in the element and the type of field), the XML schema for the XML document type exchanged.

I need the service proxy to retrieve xml messages that have the appropriate schema from the queue.

But when the proxy retrieves a msg of xml in the queue independently of their schema definition.

    Appreciate your comments.

Select the XML schema for the type of query in a messaging proxy does not entering from the schema XML message validation. Similarly, if you create a proxy based WSDL validation against definition WSDL only will not happen automatically. Choose XML as the message type only will ensure that all XMLs malformed will be rejected before entering the flow of messages. For validation against the schema, you need to explicitly add an action to validate in the proxy mail flow, if the validation fails triggers an error and get back the message to the queue or save the wrong message and commit the post/message to a queue of the error.

When I add text to an image that starts as a RAW file, I have no problem. When I try to add text to an image that is only a jpg file, the size of the text is extremely low. Even when I change the the font size to 72 pt, it is always small. How can I fix it?

You set the font size to a size that is suitable for the size of the document.   Size of the document may vary everywhere.   To resolve this problem in action, I solved in scaling the document to a known size then use a font suitable for a document of this size.  When you resize an image using size with resample Images not only checked a single pixel is change everything that is changed is the DPI image resolution setting.  So if you size a picture 8 "wide you choose a font size is good for wide image 8" the Save action.  To work around the problem of changing the size of the printing I wrote a Script to use in such an action.  The script is used twice, there is a backup and restore script.   The first time that the script is used the script records the resolution DPI images in the metadata documents.  The second time that the script is executed, it retrieves the registered PID parameter deletes the record of metadata from images and set the DPI images that had been saved.    If the use of fonts for the document 8 "will be resized to fit the print original size.

In a script, you can calculate a correct font size to use.  Actions cannot retrieve information or use logic. They need to use the Plug-ing and Script where logic is needed.  When you make using Photoshop UI you use your eyes and brain.

  • How to create a subset of the names in the address book without having to type each name separately?

When I used to use OE as my email client, it was possible to create "groups" in the address list, with the facility to send then to the group by name, so that each recipient included in the Group of email addresses all received the e-mail in question. (For example, the group named "IVG" consisted of six e-mail addresses, owned by six members of a discussion group, as I do, and I could send all at once simply email for IVG). Now, here's my question: in OE, I could fill the e-mail addresses of members of the Sub-group by simply selecting them in my list (s) global e-mail address. In TB, on the other hand, it seems that the only way to create a "new list" in the global list existing, is to type the address of each recipient by hand - an amazingly arduous task if the subgroup is of any size. And it is not clear that, even when the "new list" is over, it can be used as a "mass mailing" vehicle like the subgroup could in OE. Can someone tell me, please, if and how I can compile a subgroup within the address list of TB in the same way that I have described for OE? (And I can deal with just like a 'name' to send e-mails to all members of the subgroup, as described above?)
    Ian Stewart
    [email protected]

Start typing and it will automatically complete. If you do not have to type a lot.

Or create your mailing list, close it, and then drag and drop contacts on its icon.

As you describe with OE, use the name of the mailing list replaces the addresses it represents. You can of course just select from your address book as any regular Contact entry.

A significant limitation of the mailing list of Thunderbird, it is that it must be created in an address book with the Contacts he made reference. In other words, if you generate a list in the PAB, it must contain only the Contacts appearing in the personal address book. If you create an entry in a mailing list that is not in his address book parent, a new minimum Contact entry will be automatically created in this address book parent. Put in official terminology, a mailing list is a subset of the address book of its parent.

I intend to close the latter accidentally closed the first, and now I can't restore all tabs I had open like firefox will remember only the last session I had opened, i.e. the one with just my homepage. I understand that you use Norton or McAfee, but I stick my standard "System Restore does not" answer for you to read and meditate.

Microsoft suggests that if SR does not behave, sometimes it will behave if you start in Mode safe then give a whirl.  It could also be that your SR is reached, you must reinstall (you don't have to reinstall XP - only the part of SR).

    Here you go:

What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

Have you ever used the system restore to restore your system in the past?

Describe exactly what happens when you try to perform a system restore and the error messages you see which indicates that it does not work.

Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.
Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.
No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:

There are two main explanations for the failure of the restoration of the system. The first is the presence of malware. The second is a program such as Norton or ZoneAlarm that interferes with the process:
