Restoring a backup of new OS
I was running Vista home on a laptop which had a damaged operating system. I did a complete backup of new a week earlier on an external hard drive. It is 45 GB of compresssed zip files. I ordered a new laptop running Windows 7, I can use migwix to transfer the backup either the old laptop (own OS installed) or a new. It will only transfer the back upwards as zip.folders.How can I retrieve all records and files at once so that I have a mirror at all on any laptop I want to, and it is better to transfer Vista to Vista (drive hard Ext. old laptop) and then portable again using migwiz. I tried to use system restore but ofc it does not recognize the backup of backup only as a folder, so it won't extract all files including data and settings. I tried to explain this as I can but I'm not an expert on everything. So if there is a simple solution which look at me, please be patient and enlighten me, thanks!
I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

How to restore Win7 backup on the new system and drive Action Center repair after disk crash
I have a Dell which took a 64-bit disk crash.
I created there is not long from the center of the Action, a disk repair and backup of the C: drive on a backup USB 1 TB drive. These two events has been made by the Windows 7 Action Center.
I have a new installation disk in the system to replace the one that crashed.
Is it as simple restore system on the new drive that boot from the ERD and then recognizes the USB disk and backup file Action Center?
My hypothesis is the combination of the ERD and backup Action Center will bring my system to date content calendar when they were created?
Problems to watch?
If your image is on a connected USB external drive, you may need to install a drive to the external hard drive in the installation process. So you should find a driver for it and store it on a USB key so that you can install it when asked.
Starting the system on the ERD is simple and still works. Just press F12 at first then select the DVD drive and click Yes.

On my old computer (XP), I used app fast backup protection to back up my files to an external drive, Iomega hosted Media Network Hard (2 TB). I have a new Dell PC with Windows 7 (64 bit) OS. With the help of a cable I copied all the files from my XP to Windows 7 computer. All the files on the external hard drive, copied to a "network". I am able to view all the folders of the Iomega file, but I can't back up my files to protect fast has not been improved to work w/Win 7. Quick protect is divided into 6 different discs (photo-U, V-ActiveFolders, W-Music, X-backups, Public-Y, Z-movies), Iomega recommends using backup Windows and restore. Restoring a backup RMAN to a new instance of the database
Hi guys,.
I have a problem with restoring a backup RMAN I have with me a new instance of the database. I have with me are:
1. backup of the SPFile. (O1_MF_NCNNF_CTLFILE_BU_92DVGYO2_. BKP)
2. backup of the control file (O1_MF_NNSNF_SPFILE_BU_92DVGW9H_. BKP)
3. the full backup (O1_MF_NNSNF_FULLPROD_BU_92DVGW9H_. BKP)
I received these files to a client environment and I need to restore these to a new instance of the database on a local computer. I gave an attempt as follows (in Oracle 10 g):
1, creates a new instance of the (Test75) database using the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant
2 SET ORACLE_SID = Test75
3 connection to this instance with RMAN
4 tried to restore the SPFILE from the BKP file received.
I make mistakes and cannot continue. I don't know if I will carry out the correct steps. Please help me telling me how I should achieve this goal.
Thank you.
1. backup of the SPFile. (O1_MF_NCNNF_CTLFILE_BU_92DVGYO2_. BKP)
2 backup of control file (O1_MF_NNSNF_SPFILE_BU_92DVGW9H_. BKP)
The first backuppiece resembles a ControlFile and the other looks like a SPFILE'
> I get error and cannot continue
What is the error? (I assume that you have tried to restore the O1_MF_NNSNF_SPFILE_BU_92DVGW9H_ SPFILE. BKP
Note that you must also SET the DBID before restoring the controlfile

My "restore from backup" does not end as the screen lock appears
I got a new iphone with 64Meg and OIS 9.3.3 6 operating system. Before putting in my business phone; I backed up my data on itunes using my PC with Windows 10. As I'm trying to "restore backup" on an iphone same 6, I was unable to do, when to halfway through the download process, the screen lock appears and disconnect the iphone from itunes and the download stops. It seems to be appx 29 minutes for download; but I never got rained only 7 minutes to download completion before the screen is locked or the battery at 100% load indicator disconnect the iphone.
I have disabled all notifications, deleted my AOL Mail, set the screen saver to "never", off of password, all without success. Help!
Hello, Franklytex!
Welcome to the communities of Apple Support and post your first message! Looks like you have a problem to restore your backup from iTunes. I know how important it is that your iPhone can be restored properly! Read this article which has steps for you If your iTunes backup could not be completed or you can not restore from a backup. More precisely:
Try again after each step
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
- Connect your device to your computer with a cable USB, then Select your device in iTunes. If your device does not appear in iTunes, you must correct this problem until you can continue. Or, if you have forgotten your password or your device is off, know what to do.
- Turn off your computer and your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Then turn on again them.
- If you use a Mac, skip this step. If you use a Windows PC and iTunes will not respond or never ends your backup, you may need to to update, edit, disable or uninstall your security software.
- If you have multiple computers, try to make a backup on your other Mac or PC. Otherwise, use iCloud for save your device and restore it from your backup to iCloud.
- If you see an alert indicating an error has occurred, your backup is corrupt or incompatibleor there is not enough disk space, find your error message below to learn what to do next.
- Contact Apple technical support.
See you soon!

corrupted backup iPhone: you can restore old backup from Time Machine?
Hello
I recently had my iPhone 6 (last iOS 9.2) stolen and when I bought my new 6 iPhone updated to iOS 9.3.1 and it synchronized, he said that the March 21 backup was corrupt or incompatible.
Leaving aside Why is it (except if in your knowledge, it has an effect), I was wondering is it possible to go into the Time Machine and find the last iPhone backup (hopefully not corrupt or incompatible) and then use it when you synchronize and put up my new phone?
So in this case I would lose a week / a month value of the data over the year or so for my backup previously listed on my iTunes currently.
More important still, I need to get my SMS and notes.
For now, my contacts seem to have all come finer.
A big thank you for any help you can provide.
See you soon
You should be able to do. Follow the instructions here to find and restore the backup on your hard drive.

How to kill encrypted backups? (new iPad)
Years, I lost my password to my encrypted iPad backup. Apple says that "so much worse so sad' and so I can't get/encrypted backup control for the iPad. So, what should I do when I get a new iPad? Please don't tell me that the poisoned atmosphere is postponed to a new device! I'll be able to restore what does get saved without screwing things up?
Without the password, you cannot restore the encrypted backup, so will have to put in place the new device as new from scratch anyway. Do not enable backups on this new device and you'll be fine.
The requirement for encryption would only "carried on" for the new device if you know the password and where to restore the backup encrypted on the new device.
