  I created an application with BlackBerry plugin for Eclipse.  Both cod files (COD several files compressed into one) and the jad file was created.  However, once I have sign cod with my developer key signature files, the size of the cod files are corrupted.  This does not cause a problem when trying to host the files jad and cod on a Web server?  The jad file has not changed with the new cod file formats.

  I used this thread, http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=java_dev&message.id=841, as a point of reference to try to manage my files of cod and jad properly.

  2nd update: I installed the latest version of the BlackBerry plugin for Eclipse and rebuilt my jad and cod files.  Looks like that the jad generates properly without adding a mysterious reference to another file of cod.

  Just an update if someone stumbles on the wire:

  Make sure that your MIME types include the jad and jar definitions cod.  I didn't have the definition jar at the start so my jad file appeared as a text file.  Unzip the files of cod in a cod file and place all these files with your file jad on a web server.  Voila.

  yesterday, I received the notice about the 5.0.2 update on my xt1068. OTA did download (full I can tell), but the installation started. I tried to restart and manually check for updates, but I never had the update since. Can I do to trigger the update or should I wait until the OTA-wave hits me again?

• Include the XML file with OTA Download

  Is it possible to include an XML file generated with OTA Download?  I am writing an app that will be distributed with a web application that comes with it.  It must be deployed on individual sites, each with its own public address, configuration settings, etc.  The config is specified through configuration of web application and then saved (and later edited/updated) in XML format in the same location as the compiled files jad/cod.  This will eliminate the need for the end user specify the public address of the web application so that provide default configuration settings.  It will be on BIS and HTTPS.  I do not expect BES as the target users will be individuals and small businesses.  I'll be providing the source if they want to make changes, but I don't want to require the end user to compile just to use "out of the box', not versions include different OS and compiled the updates I distribute the bugs/feature updates.  In addition, it will access some restricted API and they must sign.

  If there is another method to achieve this, I am completely open and still at the design stage of list/original feature on the BB side.

• It is possible to install free apps without a password or contact ID? In settings under restrictions > password settings, the options of free downloads is grey.

  I got a new iPad Mini 4 and the file downloaded all of my old iPad Mini 2 from iCloud, including parameters. However, when I try to install free applications on the App Store, I'm asked to verify my password. I checked my settings of restriction and enabled apps install but in the password settings (fewer restrictions affecting), the rocker switch to demand a free download of password is switched on and grey so I can't turn it off. In addition, with switch app install restrictions tipped off, completely missing my home screen App Store icon. When I turned the restriction to install apps on the App Store icon reappeare. My guess is that Apple is no longer us gives the opportunity to bypass verification of password for the installation of the same free applications, but I thought I would ask if anyone had a solution.

  It is not related to the limitation, but may be what you are looking for: settings > iTunes & App Store > Password Settings > request password - off
