Retail Windows 8.1 installation

Godd moring

I have a HP Envy 17-J010EL.

I'll install a fresh retail version of Windows 8.1 (Pro).

Once it is installed, how can I install any drivers, HP programs, etc., as those who come pre-installed?

Thank you

Carlo

Hello, Carlo:

Before you remove the existing W8.1 software, copy the SWSetup folder from the hard drive on a hard drive portable.

Which should contain all the files Setup program supplied with the notebook.

You will need to explore each subfolder for its content.

You can also find some software and drivers (not all) on your laptop support and driver page.

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5404043&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&query=envy%2017-J010EL&tool=s-002

If for any reason any SWSetup folder does contain all the program installation files, unfortunately, you will have to do without.

  • Sales to RETAIL Windows 7 with key OEM activate after replacing the motherboard in a laptop?

    Hello

The motherboard of my HP laptop is dead and I replaced it.

I want to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium on it, and I deleted the recovery partition (I know, I shouldn't, but it's done and there's no going back)

Can I borrow a friend (RETAIL) Windows 7 Home Premium disc and activate Windows 7 with my OEM key that is printed on the COA label in the battery bay? I've never used the key again, Windows has already been activated when I bought the laptop, and it's the first time I reinstall. I downloaded all the drivers on the HP support site and saved on a USB key with a view of the reinstall.

However, I don't see an option to download Windows 7 OEM.

The motherboard has been replaced by official website HP tech support, I guess it is the same model that came with the laptop?

Yes, you can use this DVD Windows 7 Home Premium retail because it was Home Premium you had before.  If you have 64-bit Windows 7 before, then you want the 64 bit DVD.  If you have 32 bit Windows 7 before, then you want the 32 bit DVD.  If you have 64-bit Windows 7 before, then you can use the 32-bit DVD if you have no choice and you may never notice the difference.

When you get to step installation product key, it can be easier to choose the activate later option.

When it's over, then activate via the Control Panel, [view by - small icons, as applicable], page system.  Falling down and it should then give you instructions to contact for activation of the phone.  If there is no problem with that, you can also get to the activation of the phone by typing slui 4 [not only slui but slui 4] in your Start menu search and then following that area through to get the phone number for your region.

When you call, you will get an automatic response with the choice to make.  You can hang without make any choices at all and you will possibly connected to a human operator.

When you talk to them, don't forget to explain that the motherboard has failed and has been replaced by the same type of motherboard as something akin to a motherboard upgrade would be ineligible for activation.

  • How to transfer the full retail Windows 7 to new computer?

I have a full retail Windows 7, I want to install it on another computer and transfer the license (activation) to the new computer, so it expires / turns off on the old computer. How can I do this?

I asked this elsewhere, but only people tell me how to 'break' the activation, I don't want to violate the law, I want legally transfer the license to the new computer.

The best way is to make sure that the license is no longer in use on the old computer. You can do this by formatting the machine. Another thing you can do is to uninstall the license:

    Click Start, type: CMD
    Right-click on CMD
    Click on run as administrator
At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs - upk

Press enter, this will uninstall the product key of the computer and to the evaluation mode, you are now free to use it on another computer. If you experience problems, try to activate by phone:
    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

The mode currently of the installation process, you will need to be activated or it will go into reduced functional mode. You have the option to install another version or edition of Windows or get a product key for it. Alternatively, you can put the system as follows:

    To format drive:

    1. Insert the DVD of Windows 7
    2. restart your computer
    3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD player, do it.
    4. Select your language, click Next.
    5. click on "repair your computer".
    6. Select the operating system you want to repair.

    7. click on the command line

    8. at the command prompt, type: FORMAT C: /.

    Press enter on your keyboard

    Type y for Yes

    Press enter

Please wait while the drive is formatted.

Type exit to close the command prompt, and then click farm to shut down the computer.

This downloader legacy has been mounted with problems and all installation guy made him was below standards. As Windows 8.0 is completely obsolete. Use the new installer and get 8.1 Windows media that works directly (both with Windows 8.0 and 8.1 product keys). See here for more details:

I recommend you back up the file image .iso and then later to make a USB bootable from it.

  • Installation installation of Win Vista Home premium error Windows errors can not reset the deployment engine. to install windows, restart the installation.

Original title: Error Installing Win Vista Home premium.

I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium.  Suddenly, it wouldn't start.  I changed the boot CD ROM and put my Vista disc in and tried to do a "repair" that it came with missing engine or something like this.  After several attempts, I gave up and formatted hard drive losing all my data and programs (rather difficult to backup files when the computer does not start).  So, I tried a complete installation.  I put in the license code and he started the installation.  After a few minutes, the message came;  "Windows Setup could not reset the deployment engine.  to install windows, restart the installation.  I tried several times including completely turn off the computer for several minutes and try again.  I tried several times.  I thought oh well, I will install my Windows 7 program (this and never used).  Error on this installation was: your CPU is only good for 32 bit and Win 7 I have is a 64-bit version.  I'D RATHER INSTALL VISTA BUT need help on the error regarding the deployment engine.  Thank you, Lloyd

    Hello

Windows, update hardware part 3 drivers normally are way behind

the way to get windows updates

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

When you see the problem update just right-click on it and hide it

    Next, install your correct driver

  • Windows 7 Pro installation options (detail)

It's my first time installation/experience Windows 7 Pro and I am writing to ask if there is an option for install the OS with the partitions, boot & system settings control?

When I started in the 7.0 installation disc for the first time that I was appalled to see him take the first partition and proceed to install it without user/admin options.  Surely, I have a way of exercising the formatting of the NTFS partition when installing 7.0?  Thanks for your help.

As long as the disc is not pre formatted before installing Windows 7, the installation, Windows will create the necessary partitions. Also if you choose 'custom' / clean installation option will ask you as to where you want to install Windows.

What do I need to uninstall Windows 7 after installation of Windows 10?

You upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?  If so, how it remains on the disk?

If your question is about whether the operating system that is used to qualify for upgrade can be used even if it is still eligible for the upgrade, the answer is no it is essential will be blocked until the upgrade is removed during the reinstallation of the old operating system.  Then it may take wake-up phone to retrieve the old operating system license.  Also is it better to keep the old operating system using a Windows 7 System Image backup which can recover the old BONES in 20 minutes and preserves the activation.
