Retrieve Satellite C850-F12S - currently installed Win 8.1

Hello!

now, I installed Win 8.1 and I want to restore it to its original state to Win 7 Starter but don't know how to do, I bought my C850-F12S Satellite with Win 7 Starter.

I not create recovery image so m lost on how to get it back.

Someone help me please

If you have not created the means of recovery in the past, then you will not be able to recover the laptop.

The disk HARD recovery isn't possible because the HARD drive recovery partition has been eliminated during the installation of Win 8.1.

You have only one option to do: you must order this recovery disk:

  • WIFI and BT do not work on Satellite C850-F12S

    Hello
My friend has a portable Satellite C850-F12S who wouldn't start so he asked me to fix it.
I used a Windows 7 disc retail and product key as his cell phone to reinstall windows.

I downloaded the Atheros wireless, intel drivers and realtek, but none of them want to install. I have the seam of Ant to get the wifi or bluetooth, too much work.

When I enter the serial number in this site it is said that it is bluetooth and wifi but the drivers wont install and when I go to "network and sharing", "change adapter settings" it only shows the ethernet adapter nothing else. I tried pressing fn + f12 and the wireless led turns amber, but still nothing.

I ran out of ideas. Could someone help me fix it please?
    Thanks in advance

I can't read this specification for laptop (too small), but so deep is the product key, which means that this laptop model was offered with the original version of Windows preinstalled.
Before that you're wasting your time trying to fix something I recommend you install the original version of OS which includes all necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

I just hope that your friend have created recovery (DVD or USB) media because after your Windows disk recovery facility installation HARD does not work.

Ask your friend if there a recovery media and use it for the installation of the OS.

  • Satellite P300-133 - problem installing Win Xp

    Hello

I have a problem installing win xp to Satellite p300-133.
To resolve this problem, I have tried the solutions:
switch to ahci mode in bios and incorporating storage drivers compatibility intel to the installation cd xp with nlite, but none of them solved the problem.

Laptop computer starts from the cd of xp and xp installation says "program Setup inspects your hardware configuration" and then a blank black screen comes.
After that, the installation does nothing and waits indefinitely.

Any ideas on this problem? Thank you.

    Hello

    > switch to compatibility ahci mode in the bios and the integration of the storage drivers Intel to xp with nlite installation cd, but none of them solved the problem.

    The two methods are good!
You can install the Win XP without drivers Intel Storage Manager (SATA drivers) but in this case the SATA mode must be on compatible mode.
    It works for sure!

The second method is the installation of the SATA drivers with nLite (drivers can be integrated into the new drive Win XP).

I put t understand why this doesn t work on your laptop. I think it's a problem with your Win XP drive. Contains this Win XP SP2 or SP3?
If this isn't the case, then you should use nLite to include min the Win XP SP2.

    Check it!

  • Satellite L750 - error when installing Win XP 0x0000007B

    Hi all

Urgent help to install Win XP on a laptop Toshiba L750.

I tried Tosibha support and they will not help unless I pay a fee.
I asked them what happened to support apparently you must pay about $146 each year for the software support and if you told me this before, I bought the laptop I him would not have bought a toshiba.

So now I'm stuck with this laptop which is useless unless some experts out there.

Can tell me how to install Win XP on the laptop?
    Please help thanks

    > I asked what happened to support apparently you must pay about $146 each year for the software support and if you told me this before, I bought the laptop I him would not have bought a toshiba.

I've never heard of it but first I have to say that this laptop was not delivered with Win XP and so maybe there's no direct support for this OS on this laptop Toshiba.

Second, if you want to install Win XP Add SATA driver to the Win XP CD or installation Setup because new specifications to support the new type of controller SATA HDD and this controller has the SATA drivers that are NOT part of the Win XP.

You should check this FAQ from Toshiba:

  • Satellite Z930-14F - cannot install Win 8.1 SCCM 2012 R2 environment

    Hi all

Series laptops Z Sattelite impossible to install OS (win 8.1) of our SCCM 2012 R2 environment.

No installation or pxe boot interrupted error is shown.
The environment is used in order to correctly install the operating system (win 8.1) on various other seller computers (dell) and the VMS (hyper-v and vmware).

I tried boot UEFI and CMS options and tried to turn off the secure boot. Please advice.

Also, I read on the 'package to install SCCM for Toshiba. This will help in my situation or it's just the driver for SCCM packages?

    Best regards, Evgeny.

I assume you mean on this package from Toshiba:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/services/on-demand/business-computing/sdp120gs-v/

I put t have much experience using this drive package SCCM, but it is certainly compatible with professional Toshiba laptops. The Satellite / Portege Z930 belong to the range of the company, and I think that the package must be compatible.
This package seems to be for all administrators that manage devices on the network of business with SCCM 2012 R2. Toshiba offers with the new SCCM Toshiba package a solution to integrate other laptop to an existing IT infrastructure quickly and smoothly and all the Driver from Toshiba and application packages and a demonstration task sequence are integrated.

However, it seems that you could get more details about this package directly from Toshiba [email protected]

By the way: The Win 8.1 installation requires the UEFI mode (in which case the UEFI BIOS is available). But the start of another external source requires the secure boot disabled option.
Then maybe you should use the UEFI mode but must clear the safe boot option to boot from LAN.

  • Satellite L655D-S5050 - cannot install Win 8 due to lack of driver SATA HDD

    Hello!

I would like to reinstall the operating system on my laptop.

I've never had problems with this before. I am trying to install Windows 8.
And the problem is that it asks me the HARD disk driver.
First of all, I changed in the BIOS in compatibility mode.
    And that did not help.

Then I downloaded the drivers for my laptop chipset on the Internet, but it did not help.
Then I thought it might be a problem with the HARD drive. So I formatted completely. But it did not help either.

Where can be a problem? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
    Thank you!

    Hello

I think that the Satellite L655D - S5050 (PSK2LU) supports graphics AMD (ATI) and chipset.
This means that the ATI driver package contain the SATA driver files.
    I found the driver on the Toshiba page here we [Satellite L655D-S5055 | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2711088& rpn = PSK2LU & modelFilter = L655D-S5055 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = 1073768663]

By the way: why n t make a Win 7 to 8 upgrade as described here:

  • Satellite NB10T: Want to install Win 7 but cannot change the UEFI in MSC mode

    Hello

I know that it isn't the best article at the post office, but there is no instance void for my computer (Satellite NB10T) series and this problem is bound to win 8
I'm stuck at the moment: I disentailed 8 victory because I want to go back to 7

    I am aware of
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm
The problem is that I did not mode Boot under advanced system configuration option; the only thing I can do is enable or disable secure under the Security tab, startup mode which isn't enough

I also added a supervisor password. It adds a clear keys for secure boot option, but still nothing on the Advanced tab to move to the Csm.
Clearing keys does not work too.

I tried to boot multiple linux distro and win7 on usb bootable (theses work on other computers), but no luck. Boot order usb first value of course).
    What can I do?

Edit: will put some pictures of the uefi

You posted the screenshots of the configuration of Toshiba utility.
The boot mode must be changed in the BIOS settings.

To access the BIOS of the laptop must be turned off.
Then put the unit BUTTON and press F2 to enter the BIOS.

In the BIOS, you will find the necessary options: secure boot must be disabled and the UEFI mode must be changed to MSC mode

  • Satellite Pro L10 - problem installing Win XP

I'm trying to re - install XP on the laptop.
The installation goes beyond area license etc, but with 24 minutes remaining, it prompts with:

Found new harware Wizard: the wizard will help you install software for 'System '. It then ask for a location for the driver.
It is safe to do not find it on the XP cd I (which is a real homepage of the XP CD)

    Pointers?
    Thank you
    SID

Win XP asking XP drivers because it was material that requires the driver
First of all, I would not use the wizard of Win XP but I would look for unknown devices in Device Manager and then I would install the necessary drivers that you can find on the European driver Toshiba page.

I think you should download all the drivers XP of the page and should install it!

  • Dual-boot a Satellite A660-18 - BSOD install Win XP

I recently bought the laptop above for use on astro photography.
A lot of the software I use is 32 bit and XP to use so I thought that I could set up a dual boot on the laptop using Win 7 64 bit OS (pre-installed) for processing in CS5 after that I captured the images using XP Pro 32 bits of the image.

I use XP Pro 32 bit to control the astronomical mount follow-up and to capture images of the Canon DSLR as they won't work on a more recent OS and most certainly will not work on 64-bit and will not work in compatibility or any virtual box modes.

I started by cutting the main 50 GB partition and creating a new 50 GB partition to install XP Pro on and then tried to install XP Pro from the CD on the new partition. The initial back based races common installation ok with loaded drivers from the CD, but until the installation either by selecting the partition to install XP Pro system stops with a BSOD and I can only turn off the laptop.

I would be grateful pointers for getting this working to dual boot, I realize that some of the features of the laptop will probably be lost under XP Pro but I don't need of work for you USB ports connect to external equipment to control system astro and then I can reboot in win7 OS.

    Best regards
    KeV Lewis

    > Based initial backs racing common installation ok with the drivers loaded from the CD, but before the installation is by selecting the partition to install XP Pro system stops with a BSOD and I can only turn off the laptop.
Please use the forum search option and search of SATA drivers and the installation of Win XP.
There are a lot of discussions about this...

The point is that new notebooks need driver SATA to reinstall the OS.
Win 7 already includes new drivers SATA but Win XP doesn t.

The SATA driver is part of the Intel Storage Manager you can download this from Intel page too.

I used the program nLite to build a new Win XP CD that contains the SATA driver.

  • Satellite A200 no HDD install Win 7

I have a problem installing Windows 7 Windows Home Premium, it does not show the HARD drive, I had checked to change the setting in the BIOS (i.e.IDE to SATA etc...), but I don't get all these options even in the BIOS,

Can someone help me on this.

    Hi dude

It's really strange, I know that Win XP couldn't recognize the HARD drive due to lack of SATA drivers, but as far as I know Win 7 already contains these drivers, so it shouldn't be a big problem for Win 7 to recognize the HARD drive.

Are you sure that the HARD drive is ok? Please check in the BIOS!

The details of the HARD disk (size, number, etc.) must appear on the first page of the BIOS.
If the HARD disk does not appear in the BIOS, then that would mean that the HARD drive is malfunctioning

In addition, you can try to test the HARD drive by using a tool called Drive Fitness Test diagnosis.
This freeware tool can be downloaded from the page of Hitachi, as well as other pages

  • Satellite L300D - how to install Win 7 drivers?

Hi, as you can see I am new to all this.

I have a laptop Satellite L300D Vista Home Premium SP2.
I want to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.

I am told that I have to do a clean update which will wipe my hard drive first.
After that I installed Windows 7, how do I get all my drivers back please?

I posted here because I din't know where to start.

    Thank you.

    Hi newtoallthis,

Before starting with the installation of Windows 7, download all the drivers from the official Web of Toshiba site and check if all of the available drivers. I don t know what laptop you have exactly and if you install Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit, but you can check yourself:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If you have found all the drivers, you can start with the installation of Windows 7. After that, install all the drivers. Generally, the order of installation is not so important but a friend installed Winodws 7 on L300 (little other model) and used this installation order:

    -Windows 7
    -Chipset driver
    -Display driver
    -Sound driver
    Driver LAN-
    -WLAN driver
    -Modem driver
    -Value Added Package
    -Flash Cards Support utility

According to the model, the order and the amount of drivers is a little different. ;)

    Hello

I tried to install windows xp after windows 7 but Xp instalation can not find the hard drive.
Someone told me I should reinstall the sata drivers can anyone help me?

    A300 Psag0e

Yes, you need to reinstall the SATA drivers or you will go to BIOS and set the SATA from AHCI mode to compatible.

But why you don t use the option of searching this forum?
There are a lot of discussions on this subject and it s not necessary to create 1000 threads on exactly the same topic. ;)

  • Satellite A100 - how to install Win XP from USB

Hello my a100 dvd burner not working only not for this that I can not install xp.
is it possible to set up windows from a USB key.

    Please give me a guideline

    Hello

    I posted before how do.

To make a bootable usb flash drive, you must have a minimum of 2 GB flash drive and download a software like Novicorp WinToFlash. Install this software and make it easily.
That's all. But do not forget to select, Usb boot in the BIOS Boot priority.
