  I am trying to convert a physical machine to Windows 7 RC in a virtual machine using Coverter from VMWare. I tried an earlier version and their latest version, but the results are the same. • Newspapers cold of Vmware converter boot cd

  Hello

  I'm trying to convert a windows 2003 Server. I use a cold boot CD. I get an error message when it reaches 2%.

• A Boot Camp Partition, two Machines virtual VMware Fusion

  After the installation of the Boot Drive Partition *, I see now two versions of the Virtual Machine Boot Camp. Is this normal? Can I delete one with no impact on my Boot Camp? Should I remove VMware Fusion altogether and reinstall so that I can have a clean virtual machine only the partition boot camp?

  *It is on a separate post, but can be linked... Initially, I installed VMware Fusion, without first running training Camp and installed a Microsoft XP operating system on it. It stopped working and I had a lot of problems with Windows that I decided to do a new installation, but this time using Boot Camp. I can see two VMS, (actually 3*), but I want to remove the first virtual machine without Boot Camp. I tried the virtual machine under users/Documents/Virtual Machines, but the directory is empty. I deleted the directory, just in case. When I returned to VMware Fusion, it can still start the virtual machine. I looked through the finder and can't find it. • VMvare Win7 status is not updated when I install software directly in win7

  After that I installed win7 with bootcamp, then I install VMware import the bootcamp win7. Then I'll check if the win7 is still start normally or not if I restart the Mac, hold down "Option" choose bootcamp to start the machine.

  Then I install software when I connect to win7. But when I return to VMware in Mavericks. And the win7 there are always nothing installed. How can I update the State of win7 in VMvare?

  If you imported the virtual Boot Camp Machine partition partition Boot Camp imported Virtual Machine is then independent of the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.  This means that everything you install so that it is started in native mode will not be in the Boot Camp imported Virtual Machine partition.  Although it will be in the Boot Camp partition normal Virtual Machine because it uses the physical partition not a virtual base as the partition Boot Camp any computer file uses a virtual hard drive.

  Even if your Distribution of Linux will run more slowly in VMWare as the system starts up, I highly suggest that use you it through VMWare Bootcamp was not in support of linux, and it is quite complicated to install.

• Service using SRVANY. EXE has stopped working on Windows Server 2008 R2

  I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) server that runs as a service for several years a virtual machine VMware Player.  I used the SRVANY old Resource Kit tool. EXE to configure the Windows 8.1 virtual machine to load and run in the background.  This config worked without problem for years and through at least an upgrade of the virtual machine operating system.

  02/06/16, I upgraded VMware Player to version 12 and later upgraded the virtual machine OS Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.  After that, the service that I created using INSTSRV and SRVANY is more years launches the VM.  The service seems to start with success (no errors), but the virtual machine does not start.  I don't see a new instance of the vmplayer.exe process when I start or restart the service.

  Other changes on the Windows Server 2008 R2 server since the last SRVANY config worked were last month security patches.  I have a hard time to believe that upgrading the guest OS could have no relevance here.

  To troubleshoot, I tried vmplayer.exe followed of the file name of the VMX virtual machine from a launch command line.  This works.  However, if I try to run the same exact command from a CMD, launches of VMware Player interface file, but I get a "file not found" dialog box, and the virtual machine does not start.

  I also tried reinstalling VMware Player 12 and temporarily return to VMware Player 6.  None worked.

  Ideas?

• Impossible to deploy my application on the Simulator more

  Since there are 4 days, I can't deploy and run my application on the Simulator more, I get this message all the time:

  What could be the problem? I later use NDK, reinstalled all, using 3 different simulators, including the most recent, but without success.

  I'd appreciate any help. It is very annoying, because I can't do any work and ship expected app updates, I face the environment of dev for 4 days! I have worked on many platforms and with many different tools, but I've never experienced anything like this.

  I managed to get things running in a similar way. I uninstalled everything, including the NDK and start over. I returned to VMWare Player v.4. I work mainly with outdated Simulator, we run the fastest for me, although later runs now too.

  Yet EACH deployment on a Simulator takes several attempts, I don't remember when was the last time that the deployed application and runs correctly on the first attempt. I also change the download settings, switching between 'install bar' and 'clean install', these two works more often for me. Another thing to try in the meantime is to go for debugging directly, if the race does not...

  It is a terrible experience and it's very laborious, as I end up losing most of my time trying to run my application on the Simulator, instead of productive coding. Sorry BlackBerry, but it's worse that develop for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Java ME... I develop for these systems and has never had any topic also with any of them.

  One of the reasons for the app started working again maybe do something with the code, because it contained errors, but the construction still successfully passed and they never showed me any error message in the IDE or in the Simulator. Anyway, I'll never know if my code had something to do with the cause of the problem, because the 'hack' held an older VM etc. But I write this so that people know that it can theoretically hinder deployment too.

  SSH (Putty) into the host.

  Go to/var/core. You will find the dump files named vmkernel - zdump.x.

  The first part of this file is readable, more party to the end step.

  Look for the the CMTF stack dump it.

  For example, search for BlueScreen.

  Post here the trace.

  Or if you have a screenshot of the purple screen. It's the same thing.

• Cannot recreate the Boot Camp Volume in Fusion 6

  I have been successfully using Fusion 5 with Bootcamp since it was released. I upgraded to 6 today and he has me remove my VMWare Bootcamp file and recreate it.   FYI, I had this same problem. I have Paragon NTFS driver installed on my system and it was interfering with power recreate the machine virtual boot camp. I fixed it by going to system preferences, select NTFS for Mac and clicking on the box to turn the Paragon NTFS, rebooted and VMware allowed me to do a boot camp virtual machine. Hope that helps.

  We'll find a very good explanation in how PowerShell formatting and output REALLY works.

  In short:

  • Connect-VIServer returns a VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Impl.V1.VIServerImpl object
  • There is no registered view (.ps1xml files) for this type of object
  • so out-default leans on the number of properties on the object in the stream 1
  • Connect-VIServer more than 5 properties, so off-Format applies to the Format-List
  • and all the following objects in the output stream will be displayed with Format-List

  Currently the query Service does not support filtering based on the href or id property, but you can use the entity resolver to help you since you already know that the property ID take a look at this article for more details - http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2012/05/entity-resolver-in-the-vcloud-api.html

  FYI - we are aware of this limitation today with the query Service and it will be fixed.
