• How to back up the metadata file?

  I'm new to PS cc 2014.  Before I could save metadata to a separate location.  I have all the metadata files that have been created and saved in a previous version of the PS.  I want to be able to save the metadata in a separate image file.

• What happens when there is a conflict between settings stored in the metadata file and catalogue of development?

  I was wondering if someone could quickly help me in understanding how the development parameters are read in lightroom... (I use lightroom 3.6) that I just had a little bit of panic that my lack of understanding of the system could have missed a bit!

  As I do all my image DIY on a laptop with a small disc, I am often archiving of directories of images to an old server, we have, and then just get on my laptop whenever I need it again. I have a single on my laptop lightroom catalog, and I thought (now I think wrongly!) that all my settings updated is stored only in the catalog of lightroom on my development laptop and so I kept a copy of the original jpeg images hit somewhere so that I could bring my laptop when needed, I could always go back to the version most recently published of my images. Often, I copied an images directory from the server to the laptop, retouched with lightroom, then deleted the jpgs of the laptop thinking that the originals left on the server would be sufficient to restore my work later.

  But recently just before the deletion of a lot of JPGs of the laptop, I did a quick comparison with the server and is horrified realize that the files if it is different, and that changes * are * written in jpeg files! Research in lightroom I have the 'include develop settings in metadata in JPEGs [etc.]' lit.

  My questions would be:

  1 have I lost their jobs by effectively removing metadata from jpeg files or is also preserved in the catalog?

  2 What if some develop settings of an image are stored in the catalog, and a completely different set of development settings have been stored in the file - which should be a priority?

  3. have I screwed up, and if so is there anything I can do to minimize the damage? : {

  1 Lightroom ALWAYS stores the changes in its catalog file.

  2 Lightroom ALWAYS uses changes in the catalog file. The information stored in the JPG file are NEVER used to display the image in Lightroom.

  3. as long as you do not remove the photo from the catalogue, you are well, your changes are present in the file catalog and Lightroom can use those to display the image.

  If you moved the server, using Lightroom (or photos using Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing), there is no need to bring your laptop. You can leave photos on the server and access the server and everything works fine

• Not able to reverse the text file in ODI

  I tried to load the data from Oracle database to text file. But I am facing problem during file reverse text.
  
  The columns in the text file are not reversed in the ODI data store. I get no error.
  
  Are there specific measures that I'm missing here? Any ideas / docs / links would be appreciated.
  
  
  As a solution, I added column manully right now and I can go futher. But I would be happy if reverse ODI will do it for me.

  Make sure your data store is NOT LOCKED (UNLOCK) in reverse.

  I have deployemed an application of hfm in EPMA.
  But the options load metadata and extract metadata does not appear under load task and extracted.
  Version of EPMA is 9.3.1.3.
  Is this a limitation with this version of EPMA or I made a mistake during the installation.
  The user has all privileges for this app.

  Once you create an application in EPMA these options are no longer available.

  They are only available for Classic applications.

  When I try to load the metadata file in HFM 11.1.1.2.4.100, check integrity is selected but unavalable to change (grayed out).

  any idea about it?

  Hello

  The audit integrity option will be disabled from 11.1.2.4 version forward and users can not uncheck the option more in the future. This box also disappears from the user interface in future releases.

  Load a metadata without integrity checking, causing a lot of problems with the application. The development team decided to check integrity run whenever loading metadata and do not provide an option for users to disable it. It is documented in the BUG below and internal to Oracle. Visitors can see the BUG.

  I update the metadata in HFM application. Version - 11.1.2.3 Classic application. I extracted the HFM workspace metadata and update dimension members by using the HFM desktop client.

  What will be the impact on the data if I'm changing the hierarchy in the app metadata file (I'm not remove all members.) Just create new members and change the hierarchy of existing members)? It erases data from HFM applications after loading the metadata file updated through the workspace?

  Hello. Your level of database will not be affected if you do not remove members at the basic level. For members of parent, if you change the descendants, it depends. If account or custom dimensions, everything is recalculated in the memory as requested, so the change is retroactive. For entities, it depends on if you help org by period and/or parent entities of locking. If one or both of those, entity hierarchy changes generally will not be affected. If you do not either of them, the hierarchy is affected, but you will need to rebind the data in order for the changes to be aggregated.

  Running Pro Mac OSX 10.9.5 and Lightroom 5.7. When I "Read metadata from files", Lightroom will read the metadata files when the suffix is. XMP but read the file even when I do the tiny suffix: .xmp. How can I solve this problem? Metadata

  In LR, select the picture of the problem and right click on view in the Finder.  In the Finder, continue to go > show a folder containing until the volume of the container is displayed (for example, Macintosh HD).   Select this volume and file > read the information.  In the Info window, what is the exact Format? • Why the metadata of the distance is not displayed?

  The display of metadata from Bridge does not distance (from the camera to the subject). There is no remote option in preferences-> metadata. However, the distance info is in the sidecar file. CS5 and earlier revealed that information but doesn't CS6. I missed something, is this a bug or is this some kind of a new perverted feature? Thanks for any help.

  I contacted Nikon and am awaiting a response. Unfortunately, Adobe doesn't provide a way for the user to define the metadata fields. I'm going to guess that between the two giants, I'm going to be left to a MS Publisher, for example, Notepad, to look in the metadata file. OOP.

  Another thread says it's a known problem that should be fixed this week. In the meantime, you can download individual files of FXP in a zipper on the pages of individual exercise.

• Problem with the metadata (.app) file

  We are on Classic HFM 11.1.2.3 and we use DRM for metadata. When we try to load the metadata (.app) of DRM in HFM, it gives the following error:

  PAST I - analyze the Section headers

  Line: 1 error: a line (uncommented) were found before any section header

  « ï » ¿ ! FILE_FORMAT = 11.12

  I checked the file and saw no special characters.

  There is no problems with the properties or the dimension members. I checked. When I copy the contents of the file into a new .app file and load it, its working very well.

  The name of the file is HFM.app and could not see anything unusual in the file properties.

  Appreciate your help with this.

  Hello. Save the file with the text type ANSI encoding and characters should disappear.

• Move the library file to new mac, as well as metadata

  If I had to move my library of Photos to another mac, all the metadata (faces, keywords, etc.) will come with it? Not in terms of the timing, but the library of faces real itself, etc. Is it as simple as move the photo library file to the new location or is there an official way to do this?

• Can I reverse the order of the images in my image file?

  I am constantly sending pictures over the internet.  I use OS X on my Mac mini.  When I go to my image file, it lists all my images stored by oldest images first.  I have to scroll LIKE NEVER to get recent pictures... those I'm most likely to use.  Can I reverse the order so that the most recent images show first; Save me time in research?  Thanks advance.

  If I go into my pictures folder in the Finder and use the display of the list, I can click on the column modified date to sort normally or inverse. The ^ symbol will change with the sort order
