Right click causes PC show the blue circle (used to be hourglass)

When I right click in windows Explorer or most other places, the program freezes and the circle of blue rotation (formerly the hourglass) is displayed.

If this problem just started to happen, you can use option n ° 1 on this page to fix it easily.

If it lasts for several weeks, you may need to see a problem with a shell extension (add-ins that push new options in context menus).

    Thanks for any help

    I fell on this particular issue so the other day. It turned out not to be any of my extensions the cause, but instead, it was a theme called "Default Mod" (which was updated to version 28 February 27). I've downgraded to version 27.1 and the blue circle went.

    EDIT: Looking at your screenshot, it seems that use you the default theme Mod as well, so it's most likely the problem.

    Hello

    You had recently installed the software?

    Have you tried a system restore to the date and time before the problem occurred?

    Restart and start typing the F8 key

    Select Mode safe mode with networking

    Download the following and run a full scan to exclude the malware

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    When you are done, reboot and let Windows load

    Start > type CMD

    Right click on CMD and select run as administrator

    Type Sfc/scannow

    Press enter

    Note: There is a space between sfc and / scannow

    Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

    The scan only takes a few minutes

    Open the taskbar and properties of the Start Menu by clicking on the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking the taskbar and Start Menu.

    Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.

    In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, click on use default settings and then click OK.

    It is possible with JavaScript to control if highlighted field is active. The problem is that it is considered bad form to change the setting of the user preference without letting them know, or at least attempt to restore the settings when the control document closed.

    Here is a code that you can use in a routine at the level of the document that runs when the document is opened:

    Store highlight LENGTH so it can be restored when the document is closed

    and turn off the power

    var RTH = app.runtimeHighlight;

    app.runtimeHighlight = false;

    Then, in the event will be closed, you can restore the original setting:

    Restore the original settings

    app.runtimeHighlight = RTH;

  • Explorer Windows in Windows 7, do a right-click in 1 of the 4 causes of hard drives Windows Explorer to stop

    Win 7, Windows Explorer, right click in the right hand only, Panel 1 of 4 hard drives causes Windows Explorer to stop.  The disk in question has been removed from my previous XP machine and inserted in it and a lot of files of data on it.  The other three disks were new and white discs.  All are formatted with NTFS and the disk in question worked well in my previous XP machine.  I have noticed no other problems with the drive.  Any suggestions as to what may cause this weird behavior and what I can do about it?  Thank you, gmhope

    This could be a problem caused by an incompatibility between the different version of your bios on your xp machine. BIOS not all do the same things in the same way, I was taught that a hard drive from another machine may not work in another with a different bios. The bios needs flashing on the screen when you start, bios award, a commune is an example. If you start them both and they are both the same bios is not the cause, if they're differentmaybe that's the problem . If you no longer have your xp machine then it's not a way to say average ither.

    But I suggest that you try to browse the disk using something else then windows Explorer (to avoid problem explorer).

    Open the run command on your Start menu and type cmd this will open a command prompt.

    Once opened type in the letter of the drive then an example of the colon (e :))

    Pressing on enter you will now be in this drive, and then type dir and then press ENTER, this will bring up a list of files. If these steps work for you and are able to see the content of the file on your drive is intact, but there is a problem in Explorer that prevents you to use it.

    -How long have you had this problem?

    -What changes (software) you did on the computer before the show?

    Follow the steps below:

    See Advanced startup options (including safe mode) for more information about starting in safe mode.

    Step 2: If the problem does not occur in safe mode, start your computer to a State of clean boot (in normal mode) to solve the problem.

    See How to solve a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
