RIM: orientation ignored on PlayBook

I created an application WebWorks and specified <> committees mode = "landscape" / > in the config.xml file.  It seems as if this directive is ignored on my device because it runs in portrait mode, when I turn my camera.  Anyone know the proper way to lock an application in landscape mode?  I use BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet 2.2.0.5 and my PlayBook is on the OS version 2.0.1.358.

Try the following config.xml file. It should work.

http://www.w3.org/ns/widgets ".
"xmlns:RIM ="http://www.blackberry.com/ns/widgets"
version "2.0.0.0" = >

Name of the application
 Author of the app

    Hello all,.

    I tried to connect my z10 to Momentics, currently using wifi that FDI can detect the device, then the next what it is supposed to go to the .csk rim, he ignores that as I have already downloaded a bbidtoken.csk file in my directory to ~ / .rim. My question now is the next step where the IDE wishes to create a debugging token and asks for a password - password for secure storage, I tried all the passwords I've ever used on my PC any works, including my device password and still nothing. I noticed that if I put my PC root password it will now change the certificate p.12 password prompt, which I still do not know what he asks for.

    Please, I would be happy if someone can point me in the right direction or at least how to get the token of debugging loaded as it is the only thing that I think is remaining.

    Details:

    + 10.2 NDK

    + Last Momentics

    + Method connection to the IDE device - WIFI

    + Yes developer mode is set on YOU

    It works but not exactly like you did it. I went to the screen of safe storage on the IDE and then saw that I could change the password I did. Subsequently, if I tried to connect the unit to the IDE, it accepts the new password but failed password for *. CSK. Then I realized that I had no internet connection on my PC. I've sorted it and the thing worked. I also said something about not being able to run the Profiler on the device it needs to download something from the network and that was all.

  • BlackBerry smartphones help me! I want to download free applications

    Hello

    @sdgardne: I think majesty7232 means that, to have a PayPal account, he or she can buy application AppWorld are available. but this isn't the case.

    *****

    @majesty7232 on why: well, ask your operator. They know better than us. For AppWorld to be available in a country, include an agreement by all businesses in this country that support the BlackBerry services, as well as the agreement of the Government (some applications cannot be authorized by a Socialist Republic, so all the apps that are already published on AppWorld should be reviewed by the Vietnamese Government first).

    *****

    That being said, if you want to download applications for your BlackBerry smartphone, you can use several stores: Mobihand, Handango, GetJAR, BPlay, Handmark and of course AppWorld (the young of all stores!).

    If you want your PlayBook Tablet applications, so it is different since the AppWorld is the single entry point to download apps on a PlayBook. You will need to wait for RIM to sell the PlayBook to the Viet Nam.

  • To adapt to the screen orientation by using javascript (for playbook)

    Hi all

    I know that the subject of the screen orientation has been crossed many times already, but I've searched and searched in the webworks put on an answer and can't find it.

    My application is made for the landscape. I have 2 options. ((1) lock app in landscape which I think still can be done using webworks (but please correct me if I'm worng) or 2) to scale the app for the portrait.

    Because to my knowledge 1) cannot be done, I'll focus on 2). Has anyone seen or written a javascript/css script that checks if the user holds the tablet in landscape or portrait and adapt to the 2 on-the-fly switching of b/w? My app is made for 1024 x 600. I know it can evolve using CSS 0.6 starting to adapt to the screen, but I don't know how to check and then re - evolve afterwards with javascript.

    Any help, please and thank you.

    In fact, you can lock in landscape orientation with

    your config.Xml file. Just remove the space after "rim:" because I added it to prevent the Bulletin Board to return as , haha.

  • PlayBook OS and rim: transitionEffect?

    The config.xml file rim: transitionEffect is supported for PlayBook or not?  I can't operate as documented I tried fadeIn fadeOut and slideOver. There is no effect at all.

    This old post says that it is not supported for PlayBook. However it is still the last documentation and there is no notes indicating that it applies to the phone OS only.  I am aware of jQuery Mobile transitions and it's not the way I want to go down.

    This is the way that transition screens are designed.  Their goal is to appear while loading remote content for someone to show a "loading" progress

    Most of these features has been implemented due to the slower load time of pages on BB5 so that the user is not looking at a blank screen as remote content is loading.

    On the PlayBook, you can get the desired effect using tools such as jQuery mobile or Sencha touch.

  • Rotation / orientation/tilt of the PlayBook WebWorks API?

    Where can I find the API WebWorks for rotation / orientation/tilt? In other words, how can I detect programmatically the rotation of my Playbook on the three axes? Applications such as "What's up?" clearly use such an API. Thank you.

    So you're looking for the DeviceMotion API for motion capture (x, y, z).

    Here's a demo:

    http://BlackBerry.github.com/WebWorks-samples/kitchenSink/HTML/browser/motion.html

    Otherwise, if you are looking for portrait/landscape orientation, you can use the window.onorientationchange event:

  • Default apps by RIM, the Playbook?

    Hello

    What are the default application by RIM on the Tablet? The apps that come pre-installed?

    + Contacts

    + Web browser

    + Media Player

    + Notes

    What else and you know the characteristics of the any of these applications?

    The distributor of the PB will probably be the last word on what is installed.  For example, if you get your Verizon PB (in US), you will probably get Verizon specific applications on top of those of the BB that they choose.  At a minimum, you will be get (assumed)

    • Browser
    • App World
    • Media Player
    • Photo Gallery
    • Default games

    We have no idea about the client e-mail.

  • Licenses in common/dynamic: all the PlayBook apps use it yet?

    I'm curious to know if anyone uses licenses either grouped or dynamic models in their PlayBook application, even if you are totally ignorant in the application itself.

    In other words, you configured license model for your application in the portal provider to be either people?

    In the affirmative, please let me know what the app is so I can buy and download it (preferably not an expensive application ).  I'm interested in looking at the content of the app folder in archive (since RIM has kindly put trivial for it) to see if there is something in there that represents the license key data.  (I checked about 100 applications so far and none have resorted to these licensing models, but mostly I just checked in free applications.)

    If this information is displayed, it should be possible to recover in the application and use it to "close the loop" on this license thing and actually start to use this mechanism to protect against piracy.  It would also largely irrelevant that our applications are completely exposed in backup archives for now.  (After all, when was the last time you used the software on a PC which can not examine in detail, if you were so inclined?)

    Okay, so I finally found the license key in the PlayBook.

    As mentioned earlier, at first, I was using my sandbox account to buy the app, and although the key appears immediately after download, it seems not be stored anywhere.  (She was also the license key delivered to the original purchaser of the application according to the portal provider report of purchase, but that's a story for another time.)

    I've disabled my sandbox account and tried again.  As mentioned, this time, that the license key appears whenever I run App World and let me easily tap to copy to the Clipboard.

    I wouldn't be hard to have a user that and stick it in a field in my application to activate it, if I were to add such a feature.  It may take a bit of practice for them to do, and I could very well imagine that support costs could be quite high, because many users would not probably has an idea how to follow instructions.  RIM: this should really be improved with an API!

    Anyway, I did another backup for DM and looked at the archives.  This time I was able to find the license key in the backup, if it is not in the folder of my own app.  I won't go into the details here... it benefits no one.

    I don't see that there is no way for our applications retrieve this information programmatically, so for now we seem to depend on the user action manual, which sucks, but at least gives us a step in the right direction.  For an application with sufficient value to justify the cost of implementation of this and support/training/mothering users through the technique of the copy/paste the license key, it is at least technically feasible now for use as a method for the best protection against copying.

  • Policy playBook

    I create an HTML5 WebWorks for PlayBook application and I fight problems with orientation changes. I see now why so many applications PlayBook, such as Facebook, simply lock direction or another. I know that to get a good solution to this problem I must describe clearly. I talked to a couple of guys WebWorks RIM to the DevCon on this subject. I'm not sure that my description of the problem was clear enough to realize what I was describing, so they suggested that I try on the latest version of the SDK WebWorks. It is always a problem in WebWorks 2.2.0.5.  (On the BONE 1.0.7.3312 and OS 2.0.0.3778)

    ----------------------------------------------------

    Portrait (OK)--> Landscape (OK)--> Portrait (NOT OK)--> Landscape (OK)

    ----------------------------------------------------

    If a page is initially rendered in portrait and landscape mode orientation changes, it is treated the same as if you just resized a 600 x 1024, 1024 x 600 browser window. Font sizes and dimensions in pixels fixed to objects are not performed at all. The page is simply a new made and sank to new dimensions of the screen. It works like a browser window resizing. It's predictable and good.

    Now... If you return the device in portrait mode on the page is quite about 50% smaller. A

    which has been set to 300px wide appears as if she's only 150px wide and the text it contains is tiny. This is absolutely NOT what than a browser when you resize a window of 1024 x 600 600 x 1024. A browser would continue to abide all the font sizes and size of the fixed elements. It would simply be re-flow the page to the new dimensions.

    It's unpredictable and bad because the size of the elements and fonts into portrait mode is VARIABLE depending on how the page was initially rendered. Portrait is rendered to the size specified for the first time, BUT in a smaller size, the second time.

    ----------------------------------------------------

    Sorry for the slow response. I've been very busy and I forgot I had even posted the issue here. To try to solve this problem, I tried a lot of things. Most had to do with detection of direction of changes/window resizes and adjusting the window width and height than online. This method works very well but it is not necessary. The PlayBook Gets the height and width sometimes confused and ends up making the display window at 1024 x 1024.

    The simplest solution is to place the following tag in the header of your page:

    Quite simply... Tell the device to leave only descaling continuously.

    I found that it is better not to try to use the width or height of the this meta tag attributes. The device merges if you do this. I tried this way, hard coded to the size of the pixels, and by using the device-width and device-width keywords. I couldn't have a consistent behavior using this technique. I also tried to change the meta tag of dynamic display on the policy changes by using javascript. That too is unpredictable, but if you want to try it here is a sample:

    $(WinElem).resize( function(){
        var viewport = WinElem.document.querySelector("meta[name=viewport]");
        var height = $(WinElem).height();
        var width = $(WinElem).width();
        if( width > height ) {
            // changed to landscape
            viewport.setAttribute('content', 'width=1024, height=600, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=0');
        } else {
            // changed to portrait
            viewport.setAttribute('content', 'width=600, height=1024, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=0');
        }
    });

  • How to remote control Playbook

    Dear,

    My name is Yaniv I'm new on this forum, it's very nice to meet everyone.
    My basic question is on the remote control unit of the Playbook.
    When I say remote, I mean that I want to achieve a VNC type behavior. I don't mind separating the solution for the control (mouse events) and video (flow of images such as screenshots), but I need the two eventually.

    I don't mind what framework to use - Adobe Air, Java, SSH into the layer of qnx, etc..

    The thoughts and ideas (not to mention the reference to the solutions...) will be accepted with pleasure.
    Thank you

    That's right, that it is not X 11.  And QNX is not Linux, despite various ignorant writers, saying things like this in the last few months.  Even if it were, the things are currently locked enough that (it seems) things in layers of BONE would have access to the system in the way that you would need.  I suspect that this is not something that will happen without the direct support and action of RIM and QNX, even if it is a third party who does most of the work.

  • BindingExpression path error: 'Orientation' not found 'object' property "ColorScale'

    Hi all

    A data binding error is thrown by the Debug Output window just after setting the DataSource property to certain data :

    System.Windows.Data error: 40: BindingExpression path error: 'Orientation' not found 'object' property "ColorScale '(HashCode = 50862316)'. BindingExpressionath = direction; DataItem = "ColorScale' (HashCode = 50862316); Target element is 'DependencyPropertyListener' (HashCode = 6239444); target property is 'Target' (type 'Object')

    I did the following:

    Graph graphic = new Graph();
    Graph Plots.Add (new Plot());
    Graph plots [0]. Renderer = new IntensityPlotRenderer();
    (Graph (IntensityPlotRenderer). Parcels [0]. Rendering engine). ColorScale = new ColorScale();
    Graph DataSource = new list();

    The error message is raised right after the execution of the assignment of a new list of the data source. The error seems harmless but it would be nice to understand what is causing this problem.

    Thank you.

    Hi, gabe0

    It seems that this error occurs because the chart control is to look at his collection of scales to determine if scale orientation changes took place, but the ColorScale does not have a direction property. While you can't do anything to your program to work around this error, you can safely ignore it. I filed a bug for this behavior report.

    Thanks for the comments!

  • HP officejet Pro 8600 +: Missing page in the «HP Print for Chrome» software orientation option

    I can print OK in the format default portrait of a model of Toshiba Chromebook CB30-B-104 for a HP Officejet Pro 8600 + using "HP Print for Chrome" (installed from the app store for Google Chrome), but I can't find an option anywhere to change the page orientation. So if I print a document/image oriented in landscape format, it occupies only half a page of A4 portrait oriented superior. I tried to turn the image/document in the print dialog, but the rotation is ignored when printing is performed.

    Is this a "bug" or am I missing something?

    Updated February 10, 2016

    My original statement was misleading. I should have checked my facts more in detail.

    I cannot find an option called "Layout" to select "Wonderful landscape" or "Portrait" page orientation when you try to print the PDF files. When you try to print from other sources, the 'Layout' option seems OK.

    Hello @JBL11.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you have a problem with the page orientation when printing with HP for Chrome print Chromebook. I would like to help,

    When I tried printing of Chrome app I had an orientation option. I pull a document and press Ctrl + P.

    Then I double checked that Print of Chrome was my printer destination. (I also use Google Cloud Print to the same printer).

    My options going to the bottom of the list are Destination, Pages, and page layout. Put in page gives me the ability to change from portrait to landscape.

    Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the application?

    1. Click on the list of apps icon in the launcher at the bottom of the screen.
    2. Find your application in the list and right-click (click with two fingers on a Chromebook) its icon.
    3. Select Delete chrome.

    Gives it a try and let me know how it works.

  • Orientation lock does not not in Blackberry10 Simulator

    I use the BB10_2.1.1055 Beta Simulator for my application. I'm developing an app for blackberry 10 webworks. I put this attribute in my file Config.xml. But always in the Simulator, I can see my request to change to landscape mode when I change the orientation of the device. someone help me.

    I guess you can ignore it. Setting the locking device of the orientation on a real device will prevent the signal has changed emitted orientation, so your application will ever receive, but if you send that signal to your simulator using the remote or by pressing the bottem right corner, the signal will BE emitted and your app will respond to it as usual.
