Ringing time "BOLD" blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 900

I got my blackberry now for about 5 months & very impressed. However, I continue to lack of my phone calls that the ringing time is very short (about 5 seconds).

How can I increase the length of Hélène for the phone to ring? I have searched all over the phone & online, but can't find an answer.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

DM

It is best to call your operator and ask them to "extend the deadline before the voicemail picks up.

It is normally set to 15 seconds. You can go up to 30 seconds.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD memory card

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media - is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Best!

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry App World insensitive on my Bold 9700 smartphones

    Hello

Can someone help me with this?

    1. in an accidental action a rash skin and not calculated, I deleted the Blackberry App World, (who had hitherto worked perfectly on my Bold 9700).

    2. I found a link on the site Web of BlackBerry to download the App World and the download/install seems to work, but when I tried to activate the App World icon, nothing happened.  Even after a reboot sweater and battery system.

3 I deleted App World again - intentionally this time-"BOLD" connected to my PC and download App World via the site Web de BlackBerry again via the PC.  This version of App World was as insensitive as the first download.

    4. I deleted App World again--again--and for the devil, downloaded again via my 3 G network connection, this time choosing an option of different language: French.

    5. the French language to download/install seems to work, and I could not even the icon App World to launch the App World app, when I clicked on it.   Despite App World seeming to know who I was and accept my payment for an application, it would display just NOT a list of the applications that I have bought/downloaded in the past; It would display only the two apps I had downloaded with my last (French-but-en-English) version of the App World.

    6. then the App World icon has stopped working too: the screen would Flash when I clicked it, but would not launch the application itself.  Not only that, but some piece of it continued to run in the background, draining the battery: the App World icon would not leave my screen Application Switch.  Even after system reboot and full battery pull, the icon remained in my Application Switch screen.  But by clicking above all remember to screen all Applications.

7 so now I deleted App World again, just so that my "BOLD" is not run out of juice before that my day job is completed.

All suggestions/help someone on this forum has to offer will be welcomed.

Thanks for your time and your interest to help; Maybe one day I'll be able to return the favor!

Well, it was a bit of a drag, but I solved the problem by reinstalling my OS.  Thanks for your interest to help me solve the problem!

  • Rings "BOLD" of Smartphones blackBerry without reason

Hello people! I have a Bold 9780 brand new, and I have a strange problem with it. Every once in a while he gives me an alert, it sounds, the LED flashes, but when I pick up the phone, I can't find anything. I thought that maybe I was getting an alert whenever someone on my BBM list updating their status, but I turned off the power, and yet I continue to receive these alerts for no reason at all. Any ideas what is wrong? Am I missing something?

Your social app feeds especially, would be a candidate. Maybe a few twitter app.

  • BlackBerry bold 9000 smartphone software

Hi, need help with my 9000 "BOLD", I need to know if possible to get an OS 5 or 6 of the Os for my 9000, my OS is V4.6.0.303 and Portuguese who, in this smartphone don't have English and Italian.

    Thnks.

    Download the OS here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=D840CC5D906C3E9C84374C8919D2074E
    1. download the file above the BONES to the PC then install on the computer by running
    (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader
and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Users of Vista/Win7: in the apploader
folder, just click on "Compatibility files" to see the Vendor.xml file.
Once you have that - just delete the vendor.xml file here (even if
you have removed or think that you have previously deleted in the folder) and
It will allow you to update the newly installed operating system!
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place
    as the above vendor.xml file.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the amount
data you have to back up and restore during the process. Once it's done
loading the new OS, it will reboot (it can do twice in all the)
process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20
minutes at a time, while the AppLoader say "waiting for initialization."
If, for any reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and
the number 507, simply reconnect to the PC and run Loader.exe again
and it should load the operating system on the device.

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphones does not

Hi everyone, I need help! I bought the blackberry bold 9900, 3 weeks ago and it was super fast, but now it's always fast but most of the time is not responding, so I have to pull the battery, I did this about 5 times for three days and the media player most of the time "processor multimedia device answer/busy is stopped." the strange thing is that all applications are closed, I don't know why its not responding, everytime I take a lot of pictures or videos. How could a smartphone as it stop responding even if it has a 1.2 GHZ, and 768 MB ram processor which is more than enough for a smartphone like this. Storage of applications: I 95.9 MB of free space and the system uses 280.1 MB which is almost half of the storage for applications. Memory: the system currently uses 433,7 MB which is also half of the memory capacity. P.S. I pulled the battery about 15 minutes ago, I use an external microsd sandisk card 8 GB class 4, to save all my files into it (songs, pictures, videos, pdf, word, etc. documents) it is 1.8 GB apart the 7.8 GB. The built in storage media's 6.0 GB and it has 5.8 GB free of it. Should not it works faster because I have a lot of free space on the bed in the storage media. There is a problem with the microsd card should I use another class for example 10. Or is it a problem with the new software? I need help please, im starting to regret buying this phone, even if I like it. Thankss

  • BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphones may not make or receive calls

I have a blackberry bold 9700 with TMobile, who cannot make or receive calls since yesterday.  Texts and e-mail work fine and I have done a battery pull approximately five times.  When I try to make a call, it is this constant clicking, almost like a pulse of sound that comes through the phone.  I tried to call the phone my wife and her phone rings with my number, but no voice crosses.  Same problem when I receive a call, the pulse thing happens and it goes to voicemail... which of course, I can't verify.

I had this phone during nearly two years and that has never happened before.  This just started yesterday past and no change to the phone (OS update, new application, etc.).  Someone has an idea what is the problem?

    • Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
    • If it still does not work, remove and reinsert the SIM card.
    • And, if still not, go to the store of your mobile operator and get a free exchange of SIM card and check it while IN the store.

    Hello Drgnh

    Welcome to http://supportforums.blackberry.com/

The JVM 102 error occurs when one or more files COD, either from an application or the operating system itself, are damaged as a result an immediate stop of all processes in the BlackBerry Smartphone is generated, preventing the loading of the operating system boot sequence.

The BlackBerry software should update the phone.

Search and download your OS and everything above applies

    By sdgardne

    However, here's what I propose...

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find complete instructions via the link in my sig auto below. (It's probably debatable given the errors you have... it is likely that your data are already parts of your device, which means that you must now rely on a backup you took before that happened.)

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    1 - v5.0.0.442 (Platform 5.1.0.121)

Hmmm... Well, some carriers took your 9700 OS6, and others have newer versions of OS5. Up to 6 could be problematic for your situation since the OS itself is reported to take more space AppMemory, which would probably only worsen rather than your complaints help. In addition, your applications add-on may or may not be compatible with OS6... you need to check that. Finally, OS6 is a huge change from OS5... the interface, menus, and many other things are very very different... some people prefer to stay with what they are used.

You can check your carrier and others, via the official download portal:

Sorry, I don't know which carriers for you guide... I have no access to a list of carriers that support your 9700. I spot checked Orange Romania (since I happened to be there for another thread here) and they 5.0.0.586 (such as 6.0.0.461).

It is quite possible that, at the level of your operating system, there is some sort of memory leak or something... that might be resolved by a more recent operating system level. Unfortunately, change log information is notoriously difficult to find.

    CapeofStorms wrote:
    2 - memory installed app 84.5 MB - (2 GB sd card)

(FYI... the sd card, as well as the memory of the device, is unrelated to the amount of AppMemory available).

If this amount remains relatively stable, there are a lot of AppMemory free to allow the smoothly. You might want to look at it over time, however, to see if perhaps there could be a leak memory somewhere... which, when it becomes too low, initiates the "self-protection" on the BB things which, from the point of view user interface appear exactly as you described.

    CapeofStorms wrote:
    3 - 20 minutes ago

Oversight, over time, AppMemory. If it falls over time, then check out the possible situations. For example, make sure that you leave no running applications that you don't need... and you must close many of them very precisely in order to ensure that they stop correctly. The 'return' or 'red' keys let the app to decide... and many decide to keep the resident. You can always check who is resident and exercise on the Ribbon AppSwitcher - the mandatory elements are Messages, BBM, browser, home and phone... everything is an application that has been added and be authorized to reside (perhaps in apps options), either simply not properly closed.

All devices can also benefit from a clean reload of the OS from time to time. Like all devices computer, things get broken, lost, lost, etc. due to the imperfections (devices, designed and built by humans, are imperfect by definition). A clean reload of BONE tends to, well, clean things up.

If you need assistance with the execution of these ideas, please let us know.

    See you soon!

    PS country - India.

If 6a is unable to offer an update automatically 6B fails as you say, then the package of which operating system you have installed on your PC is ignored and you prevail with success on the process of "automatic". In general, it is because:

    • You have no valid package of BB OS installed on your PC (for example, that you have installed is a different model number)
    • You have more than one pack of BB OS installed on your PC (which can confuse the process loader)
    • No package of BB OS of all installed on your PC
    • You have a valid package installed on your PC, but did not remove the required PROVIDER. XML files

These are the typical reasons that the process would not override the automatic method... and what you have said, this is what it looks like happened... for one (or more) of these reasons, what you have tried to install on your PC has been ignored.

All steps must be completed and there are several steps in the vendor area that only the holder of the account to the other carrier can lead - for example, in general, the carrier will not accept an application for release of their real account holder PIN, which is not you.
