  My personal ringtones assigned to contacts are default xylophone after the last update.  They are always present and checked, but the phone only rings on the xylophone.  If anyone has experienced this?  Or knows how to solve?

  If I understand correctly, you have a problem affecting the ringtones and make them work properly.  I'd be happy to try to help you with this.

  The first thing we want to do is to make sure that you have a current backup of everything on your iPhone. Nothing that I will propose should result in no data loss, but it's always a good idea to have a backup.   If you follow this link, you will find instructions on how to make a backup: How to back up your device using iCloud or iTunes.

  It is possible that something is damaged and that the origin of the problem.  Once the backup is complete, I would say to reset all settings.

  Reset preference files resets all parameters that may be problems. This step will not delete your contacts, photos or personal information. It deletes all your preferences for Wi - Fi, Bluetooth, do not disturb, Notifications, general, sounds, brightness & wallpaper and privacy and removes your Touch ID & password.

  Do you this by clicking on settings > general > reset > reset all settings.

  Once this step is completed, re - assign ringtones and test to see if they now work correctly.

  If you try and you change a contact, you'll see a tab at the bottom called extra info. Expand it and there will be an option called call handling/assign ring tone. Also assign a ringtone for each contact can be one heck of a tedious job, so what I did is create groups such as family, friends, etc. of the company and add contacts to these groups and this clever app lets assign the ringtones group.

  Much easier that way. Wonder why the ability to assign ringtones to groups is not there in this phone... anyway. Good luck.

  Sorry, you can only set a universal sound for the e-mail account, you can set a specific tone as you can do it for text or ring.

• Q10 blackBerry cannot assign ringtone to Contact

  When I try to assign a ringtone to a specific contact, the only options I have to choose are default, Off, or active.  There is no option to select a different type of ringtone.  It is a new phone, then maybe there is something that I have not yet configured?  It is also my first smartphone, so I'm a complete newbie.  Advice would be appreciated.

  using dropbox, I was able to import ringtones to my z 10. I am able to use by browsing through files, but only for all contacts as a group.  When I try to assign a downloaded ringtone to a specific contact I'm unable to access my new downloaded files. In the drop-down list there is no link to other music files.

  Should I save to a different folder? If Yes, where and how? I need different ringtones for different contacts, but the phone does not come with enough acceptable options. Help, please.

  Download from your drop box, to any folder on your device or sd card, you can use the file manager to move the folder to a location had hoped.  Contacts select your contact, change, select phone rign tone, it will pull down all your sound files you z10, including music files.

  Hi, I tried everything, including the Verizon support call and will have no chance. Anyone know if it is even possible to assign ringtones to a phone number in your contacts list?  I had no problem using a downloaded as my ringtone default ringtone, but it doesn't seem to be a way to assign one to a particular caller.

  I should mention that I use the Blackberry Storm.

  Yes. Open the address book, and then contact you desire to have a specific ringtone > Edit > scroll CUSTOM RINGTONE/ALERTS > phone and he put out there.

  Access your Contacts, scroll to the one you want, click Menu BB button, Edit, highlight the contact info here made place defiler scroll to Custom Ring Tones/alerts section, highlight the phone option, click the Trackpad when the next screen comes up the first box at the top is where you choose the ringtone. Click on the Trackpad and all your ringtones should mount automatically, if you want one that is not on the list scroll all alerts, all voice Notes or all music and choose what file you want to use.   Also, make sure that you set the case on and off option case as each has its own décor. If you use a case that has a magnet in it the device will know its in the case and play the appropriate rintone or vibration.
