RMAN behavior when the backup is performed outside the flash_recover_area

Hello

I have installed oracle 10.2.0. I am backinb to the top of my database using oem, raman. It's my parameters for rman
RMAN> show all;

RMAN configuration parameters are:
CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 3 DAYS;
CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION OFF; # default
CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default
CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;
CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 'D:\umesh\%F';
CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET; # default
CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT   'D:\umesh\%U';
CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default
CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION FOR DATABASE OFF; # default
CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM 'AES128'; # default
CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO NONE; # default
CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO 'D:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\DB_1\DATABASE\SNCFTEST.ORA'; # default
my directory for backup is d:\umesh

my window of recovery is 3 days.

I want to plan my backup using OEM.

I chose the suggested Oracle backup.

so first day it will take full backup
second incremental backup of day
incremental backup of third day.

Fourt day will take full backup? (My 1. Question)

fifth day there will be an incremental backup, taking the fourth day as the basis of the backup. (My 2. Question)

and automatically removes all backups from the first to the third day, which is beyond my RETENTION POLICY to RECOVERY WINDOW of 3 days. ((My 3. Question)

Thank you

Your question 2

On the planning so I don't know why the crontab (planning of BONE work) being considered too superflaous? If OEM is better in a sense that you can buy one get a free (IE a script can cover your level 0 both level 1 support through OEM) then your backup with OEM is appropriate (I dunno much about OEM) if it's not then I don't think that so that crontab or OS job plan backup is less than the OEM planning.

    Is there a difference between having online with a DHCP server and using a BOOTP server?

    We have a case where one such controller seems to freeze upwards, the status LED starts flashing 4 times in a row. We cannot recreate it with a DHCP server.

    (This particular case is a bit special because it also involves an application that will try to reconfigure the controller to static (using the System Configuration API 5.0) IP if it does not get a valid IP address in the DHCP boot AND it has a valid IP address of a previous start saved in an INI file, and it is difficult to say exactly when the accident occurred... • unpredictable behavior when the scale of objects in Flash

    Is it me or is the tool of scaling in Flash totally unpredictable? For example, I take a handle on one side of a rectangular object and drag to extend longer, sometimes, the object grows on both sides. Other times I've take it and resize it and the object grows and moves also. From time to time, I can grasp one side and expand the rectangle with just one hand, which is the behavior, I expect in the first place, but never seem to when I need it. WTF? I am trying to love drawing in Flash, but it's mostly just me so upset.

    Yes, thanks to you two. It allows a bit to know that some of what I learned for Illustrator and Photoshop is useless for the Flash. Don't know what the difference is between the resizing of the centre or from the central point. It seems to me that the default value for the central point is the Center, and then I have to move the center point to the edge to get the object to resize in one direction.

  • Help Needed - unpredictable behavior when the targeting of symbols

    Hello

    I created a small site in edge animate that shows how a piece of scientific devices. The site consists of several animations showing the operation of each part of the device and has buttons that have a link to each animation as follows:

    Header - several links to the various components of a piece of the appliance of science

    Content area - 6 different animations contained in the symbols on the timeline

    The problem I have is that some of the links to the symbols do not work, despite the fine search code. Also if I click on a symbol to play an animation in the timeline, then click it again to restart the animation it don't work and will sometimes load different parts of the timeline. It all seems a bit unpredictable, as some click functions successfully trigger animations as I expect, while others don't or trigger a different animation.

    I want to know is if there is something I am doing wrong and if this can be solved? Or by the presence of several different animations on the timeline I am ask edge animate to do too much? I didn't know if I'd be better by creating a Web site in Dreamweaver (or another code editor), and then import all edge animations animate individually?

    Any ideas / help would be very appreciated. I understand that it is probably difficult to understand exactly the problem without seeing the files.

    Hey Ross,

    Really, it depends on where you are issuing orders. Using getStage is fine (but not necessary if your element of the caller is in the same symbol, that is, if the item is part of the main stage - in this case, just use sym), but when you use getStage(), there should be nothing between the parentheses. So, if there is an instance of the symbol on the stage named 'separation' and you want to play, use this:

    sym.getComposition () .getStage () getSymbol("separation").play ();

    instead (which was your code above):

    sym.getComposition ().getStage("separation").play ();

    However, if the 'separation' is a label on the main timeline, you want to play from (and you fail to do something on the main stage), then use this:

    sym.getComposition () .getStage () ("separation") .play;

  • unexpected behavior when the button is clicked - & quot; playhead & quot; jumps to wrong frame

    I'm working on a flash site and I'm running on an actionscript issue that has me a little deadlock.

    The timeline main .fla is long of 42 images. Images 1-23 are the preloader, each frame between the 24-31 images contains one of the sections of the site, and frames 36-42 contain paragraphs of one of the main sections. 32-35 are empty frames just to help me keep things visually separated while I work on this project.

    I have a subnavigation for this paragraph of installation in frames 36-42. For each of the buttons in this sub navigation, I have attached a very simple actionscript that links to other pages of the paragraph. I used actionscript as I've mentioned below, where 'web' is in this case, the name of the image I'm aiming:
    on (release) {}
    gotoAndPlay ("web");
    }

    When I click on a link to take me to the last image, that is be named "specevents" (special events), it takes me to which frame correctly. If I click on the "specevents" button once again within this framework, I picked the preloader screen. This type of jump also happens in some of the other secondary navigation buttons, that is, by clicking on a link for a framework which I am already in will take me to a quite unexpected setting (always the same framework for each button, however).

    In fact, looking a bit more closely, I find whenever I click on one of the sub - nav links, I have to move an image. As part of the "specevents" is the last image, it brings back me to the first frame of the movie.

    It's all a bit strange for me, because apparently, I used the same method on the main navigation buttons, and they do not have something unexpected when you click it.

    FYI - the page in question here, can be found at: http://gravitygroup.com/testflashy/ the 'our work' section sub navigation, that's what I'm looking at.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

    AHA! figured it out. The problem is that I got my sub - nav buttons grouped together so I could move around as a unit. I have them removed, and everything works now!

    Thank you for taking the time to help!

  • When the RMAN brand is backup incremental level1 obsolete?

    Hi all

    On a server Oracle 10.2.0.2 particular (with ODG), I implemented a strategy of incremental backup. A level 0 backup is available and all level 1 next backups are getting recovered to this first copy of data file. So far so good.

    The problem is that all these incremental backups at level 1 stay in my box of flashback and are not cleaned by RMAN. The retention policy is set on a window of 1 day.

    When the RMAN will start scoring these backups to level 1 as being obsolete? I guess that these backups are obsolete right after that they were applied to the copy of the data file? This has something to do with the size of the parameter area flashback, which means that it will not begin to remove level 1 backups when RMAN runs into problems of free space on the disk?

    Any help is appreciated!

    JM

    Hi JM,

    This is expected behavior, because you have changed the default retention of redundancy strategy 1.
    You can find this on My Oracle Support note + incremental backup strategies: Merge [ID 745798.1] +.

    The extract of this says:
    >
    When using Oracle-Suggested policy or a daily incremental backup merged and using a Flash recovery area and then keep the retention policy of RMAN for redundancy 1. This will ensure that the Oracle space management will automatically remove incremental backups at level 1 of the FRA after they have been applied to the image based on the pressure of space in the FRA copy. If you increase the redundancy or set a window of recovery space is is automatically retrieved by Oracle. This works only when the retention policy is set to the default value of redundancy = 1. If the configured retention policy is set to the window of recovery or > 1 redundancy, RMAN cannot satisfy the retention policy if there is only one copy of database and it's at a later point in time. Thus, in order to satisfy political retention Oracle keeps all the incremental backups and archivelogs since the creation of the database because ideally a data file can be re-created and archivelogs can be applied to meet the retention policy (although not followed in the practical case).
    >

    To have made them obsolete automatically, you must add the 'UNTIL TIME 'SYSDATE-2' ' clause to the COPY of RECOVER sentence, for a 1-day recovery window.

    The order having to RETRIEVE it after the BACKUP, you will have the current copy image, and you should only apply the archivelogs if you need to recover instead of use the last day of Level0 backup now level1.

    Kind regards.

  • How knowledge/check if the RMAN backup was performed using a current control file or database catalog?

    Hello

    How knowledge/check if the RMAN backup was performed using a current control file or database catalog? I mean RMAN prompt or sqlplus is it possible to know.

    Thank you

    You're welcome my friend

    You can see them using two methods.

    as I mentioned above, you can see them connect to the catalog database and you can query using the view that I sent

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmreprt.htm#BRADV89601

    the other method is the list command, you must use the list command after connecting using rman "rman target / catalog cat_user/cat_pass@catdbtns" command

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmreprt.htm#BRADV8136

    Check the value of the control_file_record_keep_time parameter. The default value is 7 days. in the output of the list command, if you can see the old backups to the value, you must be sure that the backup information comes from the catalogue database

    SELECT * FROM parameter $ v where name = 'control_file_record_keep_time '.

  • Problems with duplicate DATA when the data file was added after the backup completes

    Hello

    I am facing a problem when running of duplicate database with the command of database duplicate RMAN on a 10 g database. If I have the duplication from a full backup that is missing a data file that has been added to the database after the full backup of preforms, I get the following error message:
    Starting restore at 10-10-2009 18:00:38

    RMAN-06100: no channel to restore a backup or copy of datafile 43
    Redo log which was Pond at the time of the creation of 43 of the data file is also available in the backups. It seems that RMAN cannot use the log information archived redo to restore the content of the data file 43. I guess that because failure is already reported in the RESTORATION and not in the RECOVERY phase, so again the archived logs are not available yet. I get the same message even if I do another backup of the data file 43 (so a backup that is not in the same backupset as the backup to all the other data files).
    The script, the command duplicate product, I guess that RMAN reads the contents of the source database controlfile and trying to get a backup that contains all the data files to restore the database Assistant - if such a backup is not found, it fails.

    Of course, if I try to perform a restore/recovery of the source database, it works without problem:
    RMAN> restore database;

    Starting restore at 13.10.09
    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
    channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=156 devtype=DISK

    creating datafile fno=43 name=F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SOMEDATAFILE01.DBF
    channel ORA_DISK_1: starting datafile backupset restore
    channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
    restoring datafile 00001 to F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SYSTEM01.DBF
    .....
    The 43 data file is re-created and then redo is applied to the course.

    So, does anyone know if the duplicate database can use archived redo logs to recreate the contents of a data file, as does a normal restore/recovery? If this is the case, then it is necessary to perform a full backup before each duplicated if a data file has been added after such a backup database.

    Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Kind regards
    Swear

    Hi swear,.

    I got exactly the same problem during replication.
    Because we backup archive logs every 6 hours with rman, I added an additional block of running this script.
    run
    {
    backup incremental level 0
    format "% d_ % s_ %%t p_ bk_ '.
    filesperset 4
    database not saved;
    }

    (I also hit a bug in the catalogue which was resolved by patching up the dbs catalog 11.1.0.6, 11.1.0.7 for.)

    This will restrict the data not making file not part of any backup rman 6 hours while jumping for which there is already a backup of data files.

    Kind regards

  • Backup cancelled in Windows 7 when the computer is turned off.

    I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.

    Periodically, the Action Center will display a message saying that I have to do a backup, what I do before turning off the computer. However, when I reboot the computer, I discovered that the backup has been cancelled.

    I have searched the web but can't find information about how to make the computer shuts down automatically once the backup completed successfully.  Does anyone have a solution?

    The backup has been working in the past?

    Have you ever attempted an upgrade to Windows 10 and then back to Windows 7?

    For example let's say you have your backup scheduled task to run at midnight...

    If your computer is stopped at midnight, the backup does not - because the computer is stopped and the task was "missed" because the computer has been shut down.

    If you have the backup task configured on "Run as soon as possible after a regular departure was missed":

    When your computer working again missed backup task starts automatically.

    If you have your scheduled backup job to run at midnight and your computer is in "Sleep" mode, you have the task configured to wake the computer to run the backup:

    This won't work for wake up the computer if it is in "Sleep" mode  It will not work if the computer is in hibernation or if the computer is shut down.  As you can be awakened from sleep, the computer can be awakened from sleep, but you can't be awake if you're dead (stop).  You have to sleep to being awake.  You can be awake if you're dead or hibernation.

    The 'problem' with this approach is if the computer wakes up and runs the backup it will continue to function and you don't want that.   You can the computer to wake up, run the backup, and then click Stop (or to go back to sleep) when the backup is complete, and you can configure to occur in two different ways.  If that's how you think you want things to work ask the question in the right way, and describe how you want things to work.

    If your computer is in hibernation or stop the scheduled backup will not work until the computer working again and realizes that he has missed a task... then the backup will run - if you have the task set to do as the first example.

    Depending on certain factors that have nothing to do with Windows there are ways to make your computer start at a certain time of the hibernation or shutdown (mean 23:55) so it will be quick and then the backup will take place at midnight but will continue to operate your computer unless you include an additional step to stop the system again when the backup is complete.  These things are not exactly automatically built into Windows, but there might be ways to do things the way it works.  If that's how you think you want things to work ask the question in the right way, and describe how you want things to work.

    Find how to solve is often a matter of the question or stating the problem clearly there is no guess, no things difficult and none of these proceedings of the wild goose.

    What is the problem with the way your backup works now?

    What part doesn't work the way you think it should work?

    How do you think this should work?

    How it works?

    If your computer is turned off (off) do you want that it to wake up itself, run the backup and then stop when the backup he fill?  You can do it if you want, but it takes an extra effort and has a few requirements outside the Windows operating system.

    The task of the example above is set to run every Monday at 09:00.

    If my computer is running at 09:00 on Monday, the backup will start and run Monday at 09:00.

    If my computer doesn't work at 09:00 on Monday, the backup will run as soon as possible after the computer restart us and that's fine with me.

    I do not use sleep or Hibernate so I don't have to worry about how get the copy backup to run under these conditions.

  • How to ensure the backup of Windows 7 starts and runs until the end on a laptop which is mode standby, or could be put in mode 'sleep' when the lid is closed.

    Hello

    Many of us with laptops with Windows 7 would like to ensure that, when a Windows backup is scheduled, it starts successfully and goes to full completion, regardless of whether the phone is first 'sleep', or if the user of the laptop close the lid of the laptop, which would normally the laptop mode 'sleep'.  In other words, how to backup Windows or Windows 7 be configured to wake from mode "sleep" and prevent it from sleep mode, when a backup is scheduled and actively running?

    I saw a way to schedule a task that will wake the computer, but I'm looking for something more intelligent than that.  I'm looking to see if Microsoft has already thought this through and allow you to pre-configure operating system such as we have no additional installation software.

    Thank you

  • DPS: Judge to use the parameter Raster or vector in the States of the objects when the majority of the page is a photo. What is the best setting for the overall performance?

    I am trying to decide whether to use the parameter Raster or vector in the States of the object when the majority of the screen is a picture (with a modest but important legend for children to read). The legend certainly makes it look more net as vector. But does the photo! The raster setting seems to make the lower-res images in comparison. In my first edition of my application, I thought that raster would be the best setting when the photo was the subject dominating the page. But now, after seeing how strong he looks like vector, (but with almost a refresh of the unacceptable time. Perhaps better on the latest iPad. Most of my readers/students in class will use iPad 2 s, which has a slower processor). I wonder if I should go through the trouble of changing States of photo objects that have the type as well to the vector. It doesn't seem to be as sensitive to a re - draw on the iPad 2 (non-retine)

    Is Filesize hit if I make about 1200 on these objects range from Raster to vector? (It is a huge, highly interactive history book, so I'm curious if acutally go to vector on these photos would reduce the size of the file) What is the best setting for the overall performance?

    I see the freeks screen outside for a bit if you try to pinch and zoom in a vector object (photo) vs raster. Which is disappointing. Does slow down load time/refreshment in frame, which is a little less. I also found that the drop shadows really bad that redraws effect in vector, almost vibrating in a slide show, for example. Thus, in cases where I need shadows, I'm sticking with Raster.

    All tips go ahead?

  • Behavior of the button when you press ENTER key

    I want to run that by the forum to see if someone else can confirm.
    On a PC when a button has the focus, pressing the Enter key performs the button's onAction
    On a Mac hit the Enter key in the same conditions does nothing.

    The behavior is the same? Can others recreate the issue?

    I don't mind opening a ticket, I just want to see if it is a 'feature' first

    planned on a MAC user behavior

    I had a Mac yesterday.

    OS X 8 buttons are triggered when they are targeted and you press space on them - for the JavaFX applications and similar system.

    The focus by default system behavior is that only text boxes and lists getting focus - buttons not developed at all. Enter fire, by default the button regardless of whether it is focused or not - for example OK for a message dialog box or open a file dialog box. Enter sometimes run another action (such as an editable name - similar to a slow double click icon in Windows). ESC performs a function cancel - for example, to get rid of a pop-up window which may or not have a cancel into it button. Symbol alt + f to open a file menu do not appear to work at all for the applications of the system as Safari - I didn't try for JavaFX. To access a menu item, you can press ctrl + fn + F2, then navigate around a keyboard with the arrow keys or by typing the first letter of a menu item, then press SPACEBAR to activate the menu to get a drop down, then navigate with the keyboard even more and finally press the SPACEBAR to activate the desired menu item. Virtually every element of menu in Safari seems to have a combination of the accelerator of the command key + another key, so maybe it's the way things are to do in the land of Mac. None of the standard system applications seem to have all applied to the button symbol.

    If you go to System Preferences | Keyboard | Keyboard shortcuts there is an option that says access to the full keyboard: all controls. This button can also be activated at any time in the system using ctrl + fn + f7 combination. Once the option is enabled, you can tab to a button for the focus. JavaFX does not respect this setting, you can tab to buttons and others not on the list and the controls of textfield in a JavaFX application at any time, regardless of the value of the full keyboard access.
