RoboHelp 7 - URL in printed documents

I think the upgrade to version 7. Can someone tell me if the Word documents that I generate from my help files will help preserve links to external URLS and references in the help files? I have files to help with lots of links to Web sites and the cross references, but my current version 5 does not maintain links when I generate a Word doc.

Thank you

K Baine

Peter, thank you very much for the reply. I haven't used V6, and no, V5 does not preserve the links. I have away from HR for some time and now have the option to upgrade to V7, but did not know if these links would not be in my output printed. I couldn't find this feature anywhere in the literature.

Thanks again,
K Baine

    Best regards

It might be possible if you have mapped to a Word template which has been implemented with the titles bunch. I don't know and not able to test this right now, but I think it should work.

Otherwise, it must be somehow, in Word, post-build, and once generate your PDF file.

Please post back how you are going.

  • Colors of the icons in the content of Print Document window

When you right-click a provision unique source and click on properties, then then you must print you Document content window, where you can take subjects and by clicking on the arrow pointing to the right hand frame, move the subjects in your print document.

I've seen posts on this forum where people talk about the colors of the icons on the screen. I saw these colorful icons blue, white and gray, but nowhere in the documentation or on these forums are specifically documented colors, tell you what they really mean.

I have a situation where for one of my layouts from one source, the colors of the topics on the left pane are blue and the colors on the right pane are white. Meanwhile, in another of my single source layouts, colors on the left are blue, but the colors on the right are grey and this provision unique source does not generate the topics I want.

Can someone explain to me what those colors mean and if as I think, gray means there, why they are there in a single source layoput and not in the other?

Here are a few screenshots that illustrate my problem.

    It's the wrong screen.

    and that's good.

    Hello

Grey icons mean that the subjects were excluded by virtue by using a conditional build Expression.

The blue icons mean that the subjects are included in the printed output.

  • do not convert pagetitles in Heading 1 in the Print Document

I'm still very new to Adobe RoboHelp 7. I converted my webhelp to Word.

In all my subjects, I start a page with h1, h2, or h3 headings. I do not need to export the page to print document titles. How can I stop this unnecessary conversion?

You can apply a conditional construction for your headers tag and then exclude that when we produce printed Documentation.

Unless anything in the installation RH help topic, there is nothing I can add. I think in particular of admin rights.

  • Formatting of printed documents

    Hi all!

I am a relatively new user of RoboHelp. I don't know if my question has been answered in the previous forums, to be honest I don't know exactly what to look for. So, if this is a repeat, my apologies in advance.

I created an online help document in RoboHelp which while in the program, users can access. Great! Works perfectly. However, we would like to be able to print sections and use them as guides to training for new users.

I usually do it is create printed documents and open it in word and then reformat the drive. I change from portrait to landscape and add the lines on the right side of each page to allow new users to take notes.

Is it possible I can get RoboHelp for this? Then our users can print user guides when they need and I won't have to reformat and organize the AutoText on hundreds of pages?

    Thanks for the tips!
    Cheryl

That's it Cheryl. What those of us who have need of this sort of thing do is to create a PDF file that is located in the help. If you take this approach, you must make sure that the PDF file was added to your list of files of luggage (see the project tab) as otherwise the PDF is not available to users.

  • My printer can print documents online such as emails and boarding of IE but not Firefox

My printer has no problem printing Word, PDF and other hard drive, the documents offline, but using Firefox can't print documents such as e-mails and boarding passes online. It doesn't have this problem with IE. I use Windows 7 and a multifunctional device (print, copy, scan, fax) brother. Thanks for any help.

Can be a little specific on the problem?

  • I can not long print documents from my iMac/Snow Leopard / HP Laserjet 2300dtn combo. because everytime I try, a message pops up: ERROR: A Fax number is not provided. There is no mention of "fax" in the "print and fax ' file in Prefs system.»

I use an iMac 2011 under Snow Leopard, but it can no longer print documents via my hp laserjet 2300dtn printer. Reason: whenever I try, a message appears through the PRINT icon in the Dock, read: "ERROR: has not received a Fax number. There is no fax option in the Print & Fax window in the System Prefs so I have no idea about the origin of the error message, but suspect there is corruption in the printing preferences.  So I went username/library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs plist... and a file is moved to the trash. Unfortunately, the problem is not resolved. I am far away computer and would love advice for this situation.

Try to reset the printing system.

If you come across printing number where you will be not able to print only Microsoft Office documents or print documents disappear in Windows 7.

    Good impression.

Thank you for taking the time to post this solution.

I was pulling my hair out for several hours now and it worked like a charm.

7640 was printing test print, .pdf and Notepad files but it wouldn't print anything from office, chrome, firefox or thunderbird.

Power Googling finally turned to the top of your message and I have not seen anything to suggest it is common knowledge, but I think this problem is quite regular, so I hope others find your post.

  • 5660 envy: Envy 5660, OfficeJet 8710 and 8720: they can print documents from a thumb drive USB connected?

ENVY 5660 e-all-in-one printer can print documents (for example, .doc files) from a USB connected to its USB port?

Similarly, can the Pro OfficeJet 8710 or 8720 print documents from a USB connected to its USB port?

    Thank you

    DaleBr

    Hi DaleBr,

Any printer PCL3 as the Officejet Pro 8710, 8720 support only Photos of pritning from a USB (JPEG and BMP), it cannot print the document files such as ir PDF DOCX to a thumbdriver, but only to a computer...

The HP Envy 5660 only support printing Photos from a device memory too, but only from SD card, there are not any USB port for a USB.

None of the models above can only print from a computer or a mobile device...

8730 Officejet Pro which is a postscript printer to print PDF, Word and Powerepoint support files directly from a USB (Latin characters), however it is a commercial product and cost more as such:

  • All-in-one printer will not print documents.

I tried to print documents from my printer on a computer with XP operating system and transplanted paper and went out in white. I put the printer on my other computer with a 8.1 operating system and get the same results. I ran the printing and scanning doctor and checked the difficulty of printing. He tells me everything retrieves and prints a test page is not due to a lack of ink, I thought that could be the cause as my ink is low. Individual items on difficulty printing do not run through one at a time, they appeared all at once, and the bar for what is printing is full until the printer starts to feed paper.

He would make copies either, so I change the ink cartridges and now it prints. I still don't understand why it would print a test page with ink, but not anything else.

    Hi @Canadaboi,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to stop the print job of printing on printer all-in-one HP Deskjet 2540. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

Looks like there is a print job that is stuck in the print queue. Depending on where you have printed the original document, you will need to erase the work out of the queue.

To empty the job queue on your Android phone, try the following steps.

    • Go to the application manager, select Print Spooler and clear Cache/clear data.

To clean the queue on the computer, follow this guide:

I hope this helps. Please respond if you have any questions. I wish you a nice day!
