"root password" Message on stdout during fglam start / / cartridge NIC package questions on Linux OS
Jin
that means when I call 'fglam d' and I can read
"root password:"subsequently on stdout? "
This output appears after the message "daemon for AgentManager process began."
Foglight agent manager has been installed and started with a normal user.
I'm confused because the FMS applications displays the content of the agent on this host
and I saw no errors during startup.

According to http://edocs.quest.com/foglight/563/files/CartridgeForOperatingSystems_554_ReleaseNotes_Revision1.html#FDOC-3124, sudo is required to collect metrics to use NIC to some kernel Linux NIC drivers.
Information on activation, the agents and the Launcher safe to use sudo is available at: http://edocs.quest.com/foglight/563/doc/Cartridge/OSCartridge/SysAgent.21.2.php#401691

Satellite Pro 6100 displays a "Built-in HDD Password" message whenever I start
Hello, my computer displays a "Built-in HDD password" message whenever I start. I never set any password on the hard drive in the past, although in desperation to try to get the laptop running, I tried all possible passwords but there is no answer, I would be grateful for any help or advice. What should I do?
Well, I put t know what you did on your laptop, but as far as I know it's not possible to remove the HARD drive password.
In this case, the HARD drive is not usable, and therefore a new HARD disc has to be ordered. -
whenever I start my computer a box appears in the middle of my screen with the title identify yourself and the message user name and password do not match (you provided xxxxxxxxxxxx).
I would like to know how I canremove this message appear each time I start my computer?
Hello
1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
2. What is the version of the operating system that you are using?I suggest that you try following the steps mentioned below, that if you use Windows Vista and Windows 7 and check to see if it helps.
Step 1: Check in SafeMode with network.
You can also check if the problem persists in safe mode with network and check.
Reference:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
If you are able to see the start icon, then executes the method 2.
Step 2: Perform a clean boot and check.
To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to start your computer in normal mode by following step 7.
Hope the above information is helpful.

- Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
- Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
- To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
- Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.
If that does not solve it read more
read the tutorial below
When you log on a Windows Vista-based or a Windows 7 computer by using a temporary profile, you receive the following error message:
The user profile Service has not logon. User profile cannot be loaded.http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947215#letmefixit
Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947242
If you tried to log on to Windows and received an error message telling you that your user profile is damaged, you can try to fix it. You will need to create a new profile and then copy the files from the existing to the new profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

Dell Innspiron M5030, Win 7, 64 bit. Did enter the United Nations, ANNE and pw? can't remember, used about 9 months ago after the failure to remember and put aside to wait to call Dell last. Now out of warranty and their first service unaffordable fees. If anyone can help?
How I would enter as an administrator in Mode safe? I would like to explore this option.
It seems that you skipped a lot of security options that Microsoft has integrated into Windows 7 in order to protect you from the forgotten passwords. If you have already enabled the administrator account, then it becomes automatically visible on the login screen during the boot without failure. You can see in Mode safe?
If you can't, then it is a complex process that allows you to reset a password. She relies on you start the machine in Repair Mode, using your CD to repair Windows. You burn such a CD? If you do not, you can burn it on another computer? Please report here to get further instructions after that you are able to start your machine in a Mode of repair with this CD.

I can not start in the grub (then in single user mode) by pressing the space bar. It seems that it loads too quickly.
Is it safe to null the root password? I'm not worried about hurting the existing images of VM on the machine.
Welcome to the community,
for ESXi 3.5, take a look at for example http://vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/Reset_root_password.php to know how to reset the root password.

Cannot change the default root password
Try to change the password of the administrator of the root of the ESXi 4.1.
For any password just keep getting the following message is displayed:
Call "HostLocalAccountManager.UpdateUser" to object "ha-localacctmgr" on ESXi «...» "failed.
In order to change the root password, you need to connect to the ESXi server from the console.
Connect to the ESX console using the root password.
#passwd new password
This will change your root password.

I discovered this end script that bradley4681 posted in the course http://communities.VMware.com/thread/172220?start=15 & tstart = 0 . For some reason any, that I am unable to respond to this thread, so I thought I would ask my question here.
Although this script works fantastic, I want to invite me for the current password and the new password for root for the script, and then use that input to change the root password on every host listed in the hosts.txt file.
Is this possible? I prefer not to change a script file and enter password data each month to change passwords.
#Starts a transcript of the script output Start-Transcript -path "x:\log.txt" #Gets a list of hosts to change passwords for, make sure there is no break after the last host $vihosts = Get-Content "x:\hosts.txt" #Starts Error Report recording $errReport =@() #Current Hosts Root Password $rootpswd = 'currentpassword' #New Root Password $newpass = 'newpassword' #Starts the process and loops until the last host in the host.txt file is reached foreach ($singleViserver in $vihosts){ #Connects to each host from the hosts.txt list and also continues on any error to finish the list Connect-VIServer $singleViserver -User root -Password $rootpswd -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue -ErrorVariable err $errReport += $err if($err.Count -eq 0){ #Sets the root password Set-VMHostAccount -UserAccount root -Password $newpass } #Disconnects from each server and suppresses the confirmation Disconnect-VIServer -Confirm:$False $errReport += $err $err = "" } #Outputs the error report to a CSV file, if file is empty then no errors. $errReport | Export-Csv ".\Pass-HostReport.csv" -NoTypeInformation #Stops the transcript Stop-Transcript
Of course, you can replace these lines
... #Current Hosts Root Password $rootpswd = 'currentpassword' #New Root Password $newpass = 'newpassword' ...
with this
... #Current Hosts Root Password $rootpswd = Read-Host -Prompt "Old root password" #New Root Password $newpass = Read-Host -Prompt "New root password" ...
If you want to secure this you can add the parameter - AsSecureString on the Read-Host cmdlet.
But be careful when you want to use the passwords later in the script.

customization of the Linux root password
Is there anything in the API to customize the root password in a vm Linux in the same way the Windows admin password can be defined?
Unfortunately, this is not possible with what is available in Linux prep, guestOSes Linux/UNIX is 2nd to Windows in the world of VMware and I hope that this will change sooner rather than later
What you can do as a work-around if you have or plan to install VMware Tools when the customer is put into service, is to have a default password and then use something like VMware VIX API to change the password or download a new hash of password. It is not ideal, but which as automated you can get today or by default available your host with the right password.

Is it possible to reset a lost root password if you enabled passwords get into single-user mode?
Any disk of linux distribution should work to start the host server. There is usually an option for EMERGENCY starting. http://www.SysRescCd.org/Main_Page is also a good record to have on hand. Save it in the data store as well for other maintenance tasks once you are back up and running.

Upgrade to Mac OS Sierra and all my accounts now have Standard permissions, i.e. without administrator permissions.
How I either upgrade my administrator account or find the password for Root?
There is no root password. This is a disabled account. For good reasons.
You can enable the root account, but that increases your risk of being hacked much, because the root is a known account that has unlimited privileges. Enabling root makes your Mac a rich target environment.
But if that's how you want to live your life, Google "enable OS X root" and you will find several approaches.

Do not show "Remember password" message
Hello
I would NEVER show the "Remember password" message of Firefox. This is illustrated below the icon representing a key, to the left of the navigation bar.
I tried different configurations of history. Even if I activate and clear the checkbox "Security-> remember passwords for sites", the message always appears after the authentication.I would appreciate an answer.
Hi all
Thank you for being quick with your answers.
My problem was that I was doing the configurations to the default Firefox profile, while I really need them to be in place for another Firefox profile.
Kind regards.
