Rootkit scan in XP virtual mode has detected 3 sections corrupted for Hal.dll

A scan of XP virtual mode rootkit installed on my computer has detected 3 .dll files corrupted under the name of "HalBeginSystemInterrupt." A licensed version of AVG will not remove the threat.

Is this a real threat?

A threat to security in the virtual XP mode will be my computer where virtual XP? On other computers?

If so, how can I delete corrupted files and replace them with those not corrupted?

Thank you

Bill

The error message "no more virtual tiles can be allocated" appears when I try to use the effects in the quick edit mode in my 13 elements. The OK wand has to press several times for loading all effects models. The error returns when you select the particular model.

The problem does not appear, if PH 13 items is run in administrator mode.

The available computer resources are rather big enough: INTEL CPU i7 4 cores, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD + 32 GB SSD, Windows 8.1.

Please, advice how to fix this problem? Perhaps, there is patch or update available?

I had this problem with some of the choices menu in PSE13 when my drive to work was only a SSD with 53 GB of free space. I assigned a second disc of work (my data disc with ~ 2 TB of free space) and the error disappeared.

  • Transport mode "nbdssl" is not available if the virtual machine has no snapshot

When I use VixDiskLib_ConnectEx with a vmdk having a snapshot, I "nbdssl". If the virtual machine has no snapshot, I've always had "nbd" no matter what I specified in the parameter transportModes of the VixDiskLib_ConnectEx. I tried NULL, "nbdssl". It affects always unconditionally "nbd" when there is no snapshot.

Is this expected behavior? If so, I am not able to write safely to a vmdk. During a recovery, I create a new vm. However, there is no snapshot. I want to get back to this vmdk.  How to work around this limitation of security?

You use 1.1?  nbdssl restores are not supported on 1.1.

It is safe to remove. However, it is not that easy to remove a rootkit. There is virtually no chance to avoid reformatting and reinstalling the system. If you have any other questions, you must direct them at the 'AVG Anti Rootkit' manufacturer. In addition, next time please select a forum more appropriate that your question was not any kind of "website comments". Thank you.

  • I installed 4 GB of RAM in my computer Windows XP which has detected correctly 4096 MB, but the system information that 2 GB of Ram available.

I recently installed a maximum of 4 GB of RAM for my Win XP Home computer: four tips of 1024Mo in 4 available memory locations. Story: It came with 512 MB of RAM (256 MB two cards to 2 of the 4 slots). I sometimes treat files large image or video in a few applications, and if I do too much without saving the files, I get something like "...". not enough memory to complete... "and can not save either and lose an hour or two of work, all frozen, treatment and once had to turn off the computer by pulling the power plug (nothing else worked). Later, I added two boards of 1024 MB and moved the two 256 MB for the other two locations. The computer has detected correctly the RAM and showed 2,560.00 of available physical memory total MB of RAM in system information and available physical memory 2.00 GB (currently about 550 MB, current process). I put 4 GB page file. That helped a lot with the processing of these applications, but if do not attention, the same "...". not enough memory... "thing and I lost the job. So I added another 2 identical cards of 1 GB replacing the two planks of 256 MB. The 4 GB of RAM, I've added exact IS correct type for my computer. Set the pagefile to 1.5 times RAM available, etc, so that's it of OK. NOW THE PROBLEM, if it'S a PROBLEM: in the information system RAM is detected OK, showing 4,096.00 MB total physical memory, BUT not much more available memory: 2.16 GB available physical memory! Total virtual memory 2.00 GB remains the same in both cases, even if I put the pagefile of 12 GB. Page file space shows what I put in more added about 2 GB.
SO THE QUESTION: Is all the 4 GB of RAM (essentially) available for use with my operations high megabytes to image and video processing applications?  Or is Win XP steal my RAM and makes the page file? What happens here? You wish to know if I've lost $120,00 on two more strips of 1 GB of memory. Thanks loads, if someone can tell me.
Did not have a pretty good test in image/video applications to find out if I won anything yet. Always the same 550MO ongoing process. And Yes, I spent hours on the things in forums of online learning on the page file and RAM, most of which I knew already, but there is no explanation on the information system does not more than 2 GB of RAM available.
Thanks loads, if someone can tell me.

"My OS is Windows XP family 32-bit." End of the story for the possibility to use up to 4 GB of RAM. No, there is no way to magic, you can force a Windows 32-bit operating system to use all 4 GB of RAM. There is a difference between the question of whether a motherboard will support a certain amount of memory and an operating system be able to access memory. Sorry, you missed this fact in your research. Oh, and if you want to try one of the many Linux distros do not forget to use a 64-bit - after checking your processor is 64-bit also. That yours is not.

    Hello

SFC scan can be run within the operating system or on the WinRE (Windows recovery environment). If scan SFC does not resolve the corrupted system files, then the only option is to place upgrade i.e. repair using Vista DVD installation.

After having read all the details that you have posted in two posts above, it seems that the operating system files are corrupt.
SFC scan details are stored in the following location: %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt
The Sfcdetails.txt file contains details of every time that the System File Checker tool has been run on the computer.

To make leveling up, follow these steps.
    1. close all applications and restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD in the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. in the settings window, click install now.
Note: If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
Click on start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box to start the search.
Note: The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.
    4. in the list programs, click Setup.exe.
    5. in the settings window, click install now.
    6. click on connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    7. type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
    8. click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    9. on which type of installation do you want? screen, click upgrade.
    10. when the installation is complete, restart your computer and try again to install updates.

Note: Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

Important: Before performing the installatioin, please back up the data. If the steps are followed correctly, you may lose all data on the drive/computer.

  • Have problems connecting to the Internet after the virtual machine has crashed.

    Original title: problems sudden ethernet

    Hello

I'm having a problem with connecting my computer custom-made. I was with my virtual machine to run an android phone. It connected via a second wireless connection (I don't know much I just let it work). It crashed my computer and when I rebooted I had no internet.

It would also be useful to mention that I recently had a BSOD because of the virtual Manager and a driver, but I solved it.

He said that no connection is available, and there is a red cross.

    So far I have tried:

A second ethernet cable - nothing. (The two wires green on the end of the PC and the end of the router).

Updated windows, but he can't because of the lack of connection.

System Restore, but it says "Windows has detected corruption of system files on Local disk (C .)» You should check the drive for errors before you can restore it.

sfc/scannow, but which translates "could not Windows Resource Protection start the repair service".

I have also reinstalled the drivers for my cable ethernet twice and nothing.

If more information is needed please ask. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In Device Manager, expand network adapters, right click on the Ethernet device and update the driver.  Otherwise, identify the manufacturer, go to their website and download the latest driver.

My computer (W7/64) sometimes fall to restart. I checked HD and the memory of Mrs. rescue disk - no error.
Event Viewer says ATAPI: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.
The fact is that the cd-rom drive is behaving oddly. Reads the DVD of film without problem, but does not read floppy disks to install Windows (good on an another two comps).
I therefore launched Verifier.exe and checked the other drivers. The result is dumpATA.sys is not running. (Is BTW not MS driver?).
How can I force to load this driver?

I checked the installation disc to compare the original version, boot.win opened, but the pilot is nowhere. Where did it come from?
So I recorded the dump file, but the analysis of what this file is beyond my capabilities.

And this page explains what you have:

(Short version of an argument 9 d: "0xC000009D or STATUS_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED, indicates defective wiring or in bulk, termination or that the controller does not see the hard drive.")

It seems to intimate that it's a hardware problem rather than a driver. You say that you are having problems with the optical drive. If you log out, you still have problems to restart or boot?

This probably isn't a memory problem, but a better method of verification, it is with Memtest86 + http://www.memtest.org/#downiso>
Download the ISO and then create a CD with it and boot from it. If you have more than one piece of RAM, pull all but one test, then close, replace it with another and test, etc. I find it a little faster than the test at a time.
