I stopped System Mechanic Pro and installed and ran Microsoft's Security Center and no problem was found and arrested the noticed. I uninstalled Security Center and has begun to System Mechanic upward and now I have the same problem.  I know that Windows defender worked until this problem showed and now it just stopped when this popped up warning and Windows defender was back, 10 minutes later I returned to restore 15 days back the warning and the Defender is dead.  Does anyone have any King of clue on how to fix this?

  -J' tried another restore and checked for problems immediately before the message and don't find any problem with anything.

  I am running Windows 7 Professional, just move to a motherboard Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0, a processor of 8320 AMDFX and 32 GB of ram running.

  I was doing some courses on my computer until this window came on my screen and playback;
  "Windows detected a hard disk problem. I immediately went and checked in the properties to see the current status of the disk, and it says "this device is working properly" I am confused and decided to restart my computer. Again, read the error message and it says that the disc was allowed in properties. Every 15 minutes or so, the same error message. I'm running on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and have had the computer since 2008. Is this a virus? Or - is this just the computer falsely detect a problem?

  What you see in the drive properties in Device Manager has to do with drivers and the drive configuration, not the real state 'physical' the reader.

  First of all, I error side of caution and if sure you have a backup of all your personal files, data, music, photos, contacts, movies, etc., external media (favorite external hard drive).

  Run the check disk (chkdsk); I suggest to run with two checked options, difficulty of file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

  Thanks for the replies folks. I solved the problem by renaming the Mozilla Firefox folder like old Mozilla Firefox, and then return to add/remove programs to remove the element that resembled an installation program. I thn restarted the PC and reinstalled Firefox 17 from scratch. It worked perfectly. The user favorites are still maintained.
