Rounding error causes a strange behaviour in comparisons

Hi all

I found a rounding error in my code yesterday, that apparently causes something impossible to happen. A comparison of one number in a superior has the value true, and the same comparison in a less than or equal to is also true. I've attached a zip with a VI test record and the values that produced the problem, in the README file. You only need to define Xa, Xb, newspaper, DEXfp, weight and DEXcon 5 min b/t Xa and Xb. None of the other controls on VariableCluster of importance, you will see when you open rule015 and rule016.

Well, it is a rounding problem, but it is preventable.

First of all, some backround. Comma floating itself has rounded up questions that are very well known and are an accepted matter. This is a resource for more information.

Your problem occurs because you have your computing operations in the same order for each comparison. You have (Wt * 6 * DEXcon_inv) in rule015, but (DEXcon_inv * Wt * 6) in rule016. Correspond to these levels of calculation to the other and see what happens.

Edit: For later use, you must use subVIs for calculations like that. This normalize the calculation in itself, so you don't meet for problems like this and it makes it also easier to make changes to your calculations in the future.

    Hi all

    I try to write my thesis at the moment and am hampered by my laptop! It keeps randomly, which brings to the top of the blue screen of death, then by restarting; When everything is loaded to the top, I get a "serious error" message that says "error caused by the device driver. As far as I know, all the programs I have are compatible... I was advised to restore the factory settings, which I did a few months ago. And I got the BIOS update for my computer. But it is always the case!

    If it helps, the programs I use daily are Microsoft Word, Access, Powerpoint, Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger. I do not run any games high spec (only Minesweeper occasionally!)

    What can I do? Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated, because these accidents do not help us to my work!

    Thank you...

    Hello

    It's not easy to tell which device is causing the error.
    What you can do is to check the device drivers. Visit the page of the Toshiba driver and check if there is a new version of driver for example graphic driver.

    Also sometimes this error message appears if the module of memory is faulty.

    What you can do is to use the Microsoft Online Crash Analysis.
    Maybe if you can identify this evil s.

    Hi all

    When closing my laptop, I got the blue "screen of death" and it restarts, windows came with this analysis of the accident: "error caused by the memory problem to live: run the Windows tool". I downloaded diagnostic tool (mstinst.exe), he opened so I got "windiag.iso" and he burned on a CD like they told me (the use of 'Record Now') and then I put in the CD drive and rebooted my computer. But it did not launch the tool! Does anyone know why it went wrong and how can I make it work? Even if I got the tool to work, I would be able to solve the problems of RAM anyway, just taking my laptop to a repair center?

    Thanks :)

  • Error caused by the remote control?

    Hello

    I just got a great help here, and everything worked.  However, now when I run the code, I get error caused by the remote command on my counter (Agilent 34461).  However, when I run in debug mode by clicking on the light bulb, this error occurs.

    The change I made was that I initialized the measure outside the while loop so that I didn't have any initiialize it for each iteration, and I added a reading?

    Any ideas why this would cause this error?

    After reading the Manual , I found that you really want to use "configures: currentC ' for your installation command.  Apparently, the measurement system causes playback to occur.

    Yes, you need this amount of free space (at least 250 GB freespace) available between the space free and put into service.

  • Toshiba 32AV933G: unsupported media error caused by subtitles

    Hello.

    I am having trouble with this media player to my toshiba tv room.

    More specific, sometimes while playing media at some point the audio stops after a few seconds tv stops responding during playback the video, and finally this make me back in the video folder with a 'unsupported media' error.

    After a lot of troubleshooting _i came finally to the solution. _
    _The problem is caused by the subtitles. _

    I'm in Greece so for sure, this happens with Greek submarines.
    For example, if the submarines have a line and the line starts by ((i) * which is "BOLD" subtitle) this problem occurs.

    If I remove the "BOLD" in the submarines it no is no problem at all.
    Etc. obviously "BOLD" is not supported.

    I think that this could be easily fixed via a firmware update.

    * I put (i) which is not a well-formed, because the right pair that begins and ends with< is="" not="" shown="" in="" the="">

  • Strange behaviour of ChnFindReverse

    Hello

    Here is a minimal example of strange behavior, usually the R11-preset would be a much more complex structure:

    Call ChnLinGen ("XXX", 10, -10, 21)

    ' prior definition of variable comparison
    R11 = - 11
    R1 = ChnFindReverse ("Ch (""XXX" ") > = (" "" & R11 & "" "" ")" ")

    ' entry of variable direct comparison
    R2 = ChnFindReverse ("Ch (""XXX" ") > =-12")

    Call MsgBox (R1 & ' should be the same as "& R2)

    '========================================

    PHEX

    Don't know what ends up in the string, but the way in which you scripted, count you on executing VBscript format the value in R11.

    I recommend to do

    R1 = ChnFindReverse ("Ch (""XXX" ") > = (" & str (R11) & "" ")" ")

    This example uses the tiara built in function 'str' formatting

    And just as an info: the ChnFIndReverse return value is an integer. With the help of R1 is not bad but either by using a local variable VBScript or L1 would be more appropriate

  • Entered Unwired error cause buffer allocation

    Recently, while playing 'Hide the Dots', have I noticed that wiring not not admission of error on the functions (such as the authors of the notifications, queues or nodes of property) may be coming to a bill of costs.

    If a cluster of error is X bytes and you have dozens of these unwired (let) laying around, declaring it is buffer allocation [X bytes * notifiers n]? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the old saying no error output?

    Edit: I know that is not the wiring error may cause a race condition, the non-LabVIEW-esque program sequence, etc, but I would like to talk about the aspect of memory of this alone.

    Hi all

    As the 'error' is only a recommended terminal, when he is not wired LabVIEW must locate and assign default values for this entry. To do this, a memory to be allocated. Therefore, not wiring error as well as the terminals not required tickets will actually increase the initial memory allocation. However, this additional allocation should be minimal compared to the rest of your VI.

    Hello

    BCCode: 117 is generally a problem of display driver (video) If you need to update (check the system machine
    and the sites of the manufacturer of the device. You will need to remove and reinstall your video card a PC and not
    edge. Perhaps a replacement card is necessary.

    If necessary you can perform in SafeMode with network - repeatedly F8 tap that you start.

    This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

    This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

    -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
    each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
    version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

    For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
    Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
    video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
    cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
    This will refresh the driver stack.

    Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
    own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

    Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
    (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
    updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

    Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
    because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
    pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

    Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

    Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    This bug check is usually caused by drivers who used a wrong address.

    If the first parameter has the same value as the fourth parameter, and the third parameter indicates a runtime operation, this bug check was probably caused by a driver who was trying to run code when the code itself has been paginated outside. The possible causes for the error page are:

    • The function was marked as pageable and was operating at an IRQL higher (including obtaining a lock).
    • The function call was made to a function in another pilot, and that this driver has been unloaded.
    • The function was called by using a function pointer that was an invalid pointer.

    These produce somewhat less often with about 47 errors an hour but these always down the computer to a fixed support and in some cases require a hard reboot.

    Usually happens when I play a game like COD:MW2 but don't happen in games such as Mass Effect 2. It also happens if I play Runescape or if I look to multitask (have a game and a web browser open).

  • Error caused by the overrided method object build

    Hello world

    When I build my Active blackberry Setup, I get the error:

    I/O Error: Cannot run program "jar": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specifiedrapc executed for the project MyApplication

    This happens when I have this code:

    LabelField lblTitle = new LabelField(title) {
        protected void paint(Graphics graphics) {
            graphics.setColor(0x00FFFFFF);
            graphics.clear();
            super.paint(graphics);
        }
    };
    LabelField lblSubTitle = new LabelField(releaseYear + ", " + rating) {
        protected void paint(Graphics graphics) {
            graphics.setColor(0x00FFFFFF);
            graphics.clear();
            super.paint(graphics);
        }
    };

    vfmHeader.add(lblTitle);
    vfmHeader.add(lblSubTitle);
    screen.add(vfmHeader);

    If I had to remove the method object overrided in the LabelField lblSubTitle, however, the build error does not. I tried to change a LabelField to a RichTextField lblSubTitle, and I still get the same error.

    Very strange. Anyone know why this is happening? Thank you!

    I found the solution to my problem here:

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/rim-software/79668-JDE-build-all-problem.html

    Basically, I removed all older versions of Java that I had and I installed this following:

    J2SDK-1_4_2_15-windows-i586 - p.exe (JDK 1.4.2 version 15)
    JDK-1_5_0_12-windows-i586 - p.exe (JDK 1.5.0 version 12)

    JDK 1.5.0 is necessary because otherwise the JDE Eclipse plug-in will not start with 1.4.2.

    Without having the JDK 1.6, however, the MDS - CS will organize not (within Eclipse). I had to manually download "BlackBerry email and MDS 4.14 Service simulators", start it and then run my application.

    I hope this can help someone down the line...
