router Linksys BEFSR41 ver-2

I am trying to post a question and not able to find a link to a new.

So, I got this router and I tried to do a config, but now it does not meet the IP 192.168.1.1. I tried to reset button reset on the router, as I looked under ipconfig in the command line and nothing. In addition, it was perhaps what he cuased the problem is in the first instance, I was trying to uprade the firmware, but I would get an error message that it cannot find...

Any thoughts anyone?

I actually found this link and I followed it exactly and I restarted the router with firmware update, since I had diag led flashing, that means corrupt firmware.

  • My router Linksys BEFSR41 (model) 4.2 (version) does not work after I tried

to update to firmware Ver.2.00.4 Build 5. The power still works, but I can't connect to internet with it more. I pressed reset to 30 seconds and disconnected the power for 5 seconds and restarted my PC and it still does not work. Someone knows how to fix this?

It won't even show the IP of the gateway by default more when I run the ipconfig command. I can't ping it.

What IP address you get on your computer?

Connect the modem to the Internet port and the computer and port Ethernet 1 of the router.

Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and check the IP address of your computer.

If you get a valid IP address as 192.168.1.xxx then try to ping the 192.168.1.1 IP address.

If you get the IP address auto-configuration as 169.254.x.x then assign a static IP address on the computer (192.168.1.10 subnet - 255.255.255.0, gateway - 192.168.1.1) and then try to ping the router.

If you get answers from the router then try to open the router configuration page.

  • BEFSR41 Ver 3 connection to the modem Motorola 2210 problem

I have a simple (I hope) home office network configuration.  I have a router Linksys BEFSR41 Ver 3, a Vonage phone device, a couple of computers and printers all hooked into the router.  The problem appeared when my old modem is dead.  I replaced the old modem with the Motorola 2210 (from AT & T) and configure the modem, so now the internet works if I plug the line directly into my computer.  When I try to run it through the Linksys router, the signal comes through.  I've turned off and rebooted twice and the second time I did it in a particular order, but still no signal through the router.

I see that the IP address of the router is 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 is the modem.  It seems that something needs to be reset somewhere, but since I'm no computer, I don't know what to reset where...  I read the other posts and they speak to reset a PPPoE on the BEF, but where do you do that?  And is there something different about my router 3 worm?    Any help is appreciated... I'm pretty frustrated and miss me phone calls from my device Vonage is not connected...

Thank you very much in advance...

    Leslie

You the problem is that you try to use the same subnet 192.168.1.x into the WAN (Internet) port and the LAN of your BEFSR41 ports.  You can't do that.

Your modem is apparently made your PPPoE connection for you.  So you should NOT repeat this PPPoE connection in the BEFSR41.

    Setting network, follow these steps:

    (1) put your entire network.

    (2) disconnect all other devices BEFSR41.

    (3) connect your computer to one of the four ports LAN on the BEFSR41.

    (4) turn on the BEFSR41 and your computer.

    (5) point your browser to 192.168.1.1 and connect to your BEFSR41.

    (6) change the "Internet Connection Type" to «DHCP - auto»

    (7) change "local IP address" 192.168.2.1

    8) click the 'Save Settings' button, and then wait the screen refresh (3-60 seconds).  You will be disconnected from the BEFSR41.  Don't worry about this.

    (9) turn off the BEFSR41 and your computer.

    (10) wire the ethernet port of your modem to the Internet (WAN) on the BEFSR41 port.  Leave your computer connected to the BEFSR41.

    (11) power of your network.  It should work.

BEFSR41 using you now on its LAN ports 192.168.2.x subnet.  You can now connect to the BEFSR41 facility to 192.168.2.1

  • Linksys BEFSR41 connection with modem router getting not real internet ip

Hello, can someone help with this problem. I connected to a modem router linksys BEFSR41 router. But when I watched the status in linksys BEFSR41 router, it gives only an IP from the modem router and no real internet ip address.

can someone give me an answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't string two routers. Fill the modem/router or don't use the BEF as a router, but only as a simple switch (or replace it with a standard ethernet switch).

  • Problems with the new modem DSL and Linksys BEFSR41

My Speedstream modem died and I had to buy a new modem.  At this time of year, it is difficult to find exactly what I wanted and I ended up buying a D-Link DSL - 2320-B.  I got the Linksys BEFSR41 (old version 1, I think) for years and it has always worked well.  I have problems to get an internet connection through the router.  With the modem connected directly to the network card, as now I have no connectivity problem.  I had to change the IP address on the Linksys BEFSR41 192.168.2.1, as the modem is 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1 as the old Speedstream.  I couldn't see a way to change the IP Address of the new D-Link.  I have my ICS TCP/IP set to auto obtain IP and DNS.  I was previously created for a fixed IP of * provided by the router.  Even with the setting on the router to "Obtain an IP address automatically", I can't to the internet with the router in the middle.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Your modem is a combination of the modem and the router. The problem occurs when you try to connect another router behind this configuration and end up having 2 servers dhcp and nat 2 (for port forwarding and other issues, creating in some cases where even branded products use ip addresses will clash and devices will not connect at all when him are interconnected).

To avoid the situation described above, it is recommended that you enable the full Bridge mode on the modem / router that you currently connected to the internet and let your new wireless router controls all the functions within your local network and the internet connection (you must enter all the details in the new router, including Internet service provider username and password).

  • PC with Win XP SP3 cannot see router Linksys 1200, although it is there and connected.

Friend got new router Linksys E1200. Initially set up with the PC above and worked fine for a week or two.

    Then loss of the connection.

IPhone and MAC laptop work very well on the same network and laptop can access 192.168.1.1 but PC don't even see it.

Diagnosis of IE says winsock error.

Re-directed configuration Cisco on PC, but it failed to honor or find the router, even if the network is showing that connections wireless connected successfully to.

Unintalled Cisco and tried to reinstall, but it fails the process because he can't see the router.

Update firmware as suggested for router (via MAC laptop) - now V2.004 or something else.

Changes security wireless WEP etc attempts but makes no difference. Changing the settings in the router itself does crashing. Had to reset to the factory settings and to reconfigure a number of times already, what she does very well on the laptop, but not at all on the PC.

    Any other suggestions?

  • How to configure the router Linksys DD - WRT for WVC54GCA E4200

    Hi Majekho,

Your domain name has decided to 99.245.xx.x. If you go to www.test.tzo.com from the location of the host, you must see this IP address. If these numbers are the same, then all with TZO works correctly. I guess that it is a simple problem with ports (80, 1024) is not open in the router and forwarded to the right internal IP address of the device (for example. 192.168.1.xxx).

In addition, if you have a DSL, you will need to call your ISP and ask them to show you how to put your modem in "bridge mode". This will disable the firewall in the modem that blocks incoming connections even if you open ports in your router.
In addition, during the test, it is best to test on your device remotely, this is due to a common problem called loopback with most routers. For more information about looping, take a look at:

I recently bought a router Linksys AC3200 and E55 - C1 Vizio TV. The remote for my tv button and the power of Vizio Vizio TV have been sporadic in their functionality. I did all the troublehsooting Vizio recommended on their site and finally called for more tips. I was told that file sharing and network share on my router will cause this problem and for contact me Linksys to resolve. Does anyone know exactly what the router setting is the cause? • VPN problem - "C1712 behind router Linksys ' connection to PIX515e

    Hi all

    I have a question about VPN (lan-to-lan).

    My setup is the following:

    10.1.20.x-[PIX515e_central site VPN concetrator]-(( ISP ))-[LINKSYS BEFSX41 router]-[Cisco1712_branch] - 192.168.14.x

I would like to create tunnel VPN between C1712 and PIX515 (lan-to-lan), so users of 192.168.14.x would be able to connect to servers located on a central site in network 10.1.20.x.

NAT - T is manually enabled on PIX and 'IPsec passtrough' is enabled on the Linksys router. Then what should I do now to create a VPN tunnel?

What is the basic C1712 and PIX515e configuration to make it work?

All other industries (8) work, but they are directly connected to the internet via C1712, so without router Linksys in front of him. Thus, PIX is already properly configured for this configuration.

I guess that the installer with Linksys router does not work because of PAT.

    6.3 (4) version PIX

    C1712 Version 12.4

    Please advise!

Thank you very much in advance!

This line is incorrect on the router configuration:

IP nat inside source list 6 interface FastEthernet0 overload

Please, remove it and have her take:

overload of IP nat inside source list 101 interface FastEthernet0

    Hope that solves this problem.
