Run a batch file in windows separated box to call DRM client batch

I need your suggestions on what follows.

ODI & DRM are installed on separate boxes.

Now, I want to ODI to call a batch file (kept on DRM - Windows box, this batch file called client batch DRM for export metadata). I tried to use the notion of shared folder, but without success.

Pointers please?

This should work for you-

Create a batch on your current server (ODI) file and write in the path to the other file of commands on the other server.

Server2completename/D$/path/yourbatchfile.bat

Calling your batch file that you created on the same machine... which inturn will call the other on another machine batch file to run the batch client from the ODI.

Also you can paste errors that you can get... need to check if you get any specific problem related to this.

Thank you

    Hello

To respond to your request, you must enter the administrator password to access this command file.
    Instructions for Windows 7
In order to run as administrator, create a shortcut to the batch file.
    1. right click on the batch file, then click on copy
    2. navigate to the location where you the shortcut
    3. right click on the background of the directory
    4. select Paste shortcut

Then, you can set the shortcut to run as Administrator:
    1. right click on the shortcut
    2. Select Properties
    3. in the shortcut tab, click Advanced
    4. check the box "Run as Administrator"
    5. click on OK, OK
Now when you double-click the shortcut it will ask for confirmation UAC and then run as an administrator (which as I said above is different than running under an account in the administrator group)

    I hope this helps.

I, stupid, changed the program by default to a BAT file to the cmd prompt, well, now I can't run the batch files now, please help!

    Hi William,.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Batch file is a type of script file, a text file, containing a series of commands to be executed by the command prompt. When you run a batch file, it opens the command prompt to run the scripts.

It would be great if you can answer the following questions:

    1. what happens when you try to run a batch file?

2 are. what batch file you referring?

    3. the problem occurs for a particular batch file?

First of all, I suggest you to check the commands written in a batch file. To do the same thing, just right-click on the batch file, and then click change. It will open Notepad with the list of orders scripted for this particular batch file.

If you have additional questions on the computer, please ask your question about Windows and we will be happy to help you.

To make the USB device or DVD bootable (whichever you choose) device, you can run a tool called bootsect.exe. In some cases, this tool must be downloaded from your Microsoft Store account. To download bootsect:

    1. connect to your Microsoft Store account to view your purchase history
    2. search for your purchase of Windows 7
    3. next to Windows 7, there is a drop down "additional download options.
    4. in the drop-down list, select "ISO 32 - bit or 64 - bit" (depending on which you downloaded) option
    5. right click on the link and save the bootsect.exe file to the location where you installed the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (for example C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps\Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool)
    6. once the file has been saved, return to the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool to create your bootable USB device

Then use the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create bootable Windows 7 copy

  • Pushing scripts or batch files in Windows VM

I think I'm in the correct community, but if not let me know and I'll move on to the question in the correct forum.

We use vSphere 4.0 and I would push a batch file and scripts for all our virtual machines of Windows (instead of opening each Windows vm and manually run the batch/scripts)...is it anything in vSphere that would allow me to do it, or there at - it an addon or another program that would make this possible?)

I searched this forum, searched the help of vSphere and google than a few keywords, but I can't seem to find any information on this.

    Thank you

Yes, VMware has an API called VIX which enables comments management, one of the features are the ability to upload or download files to and from the guestOS. VIX uses VMware Tools to perform these operations and you can run a specific command within a prompt OR download and run a script.

For more information, VIX, please take a look here - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vix-api/

There are some integration with PowerCLI cmdlets with VIX if you are more comfortable in Windows, there are PowerCLI forum you can ask your question - http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/vsphere/automationtools/powercli

So according to the language of comfort, you can easily hang VIX API using vSphere SDK for Java, PowerCLI, Perl, etc.

  • Problems with the opening of attachments when the user has restristed privilege to run executable code from Program Files and Windows folders.

I'm trying to prevent users from running potentially dangerous files. According to the Windows policies so I put. Users can run any application Program Files, files (x 86), windows, and folder to all users of the program office. Users have no permission to write anything in this files. When the user double clicks for example document.doc on his desk - document opens fine with MS Word. But when the user tries to open this document in attachment directly (by selecting open with MS Word, instead of the economy) - he sees an error - "this action is limited by local politics. Ask your system administrator. "(not exact text).

So I want, users able to open attachments from Thunderbird automatically, but not able to run any application or link, except Program Files, Program Files (x86), Windows and all users' desktop folder. How can I get this result?

    Thanks in advance.
    Calvo is serious.

PS Sorry for my bad English. It is not my mother tongue.

    Thanks for responding.
I discovered what was going on.
This strange "bug" affects multiple computers with Windows 7 Ultimate in my case.
When you create a SRP (software restriction policies) it creates two rules by default to run programs: windows folder and the Program Files folder. I manually add "C:\Program Files (x 86)" in places without restriction. BUT Windows and Program Files folder to default rules directly, but through registry keys. And this part seems difficult. You CAN run the executable files of Program Files. You CAN run the Program Files (x 86) executables. But if Thunderbird or Firefox try to run MS Word or excel or editor for.doc or *.odt opening or another file - downloaded files running programs blocked by SRP.
In order to fix this, simply replace the rules for indirect paths like % HKLM/software/microsoft/windows... etc % with direct, for example "C:/Windows" and "C:/Program Files /". After that, everything works fine. Attachments and downloaded files automatically opens without a problem.
