  • Buy VMware Fusion 7, but the v5 download and run the merger also?

I looked on the website of VMware, but impossible to find the answer to this question:

A customer can purchase VMware Fusion version 7 (the current version) but also to download and run an earlier version of VMware Fusion (for example, merger v5) for temporary use? Here's an example scenario:

    * A VMware customer has two Macs. One is an old Mac running Snow Leopard, and the other is a new Mac running Mavericks or Yosemite. The customer wants to use the new Mac, go ahead (and give the old Mac). The client runs even a few applications that are not supported on what it is later than Snow Leopard (for example PowerPC applications). The obvious solution is to run these applications in a guest of Snow Leopard Server in VMware Fusion on the new Mac.

    * The problem is that Snow Leopard Server does not install as a guest operating system on the recent Mac models of the client, but it can run an existing Snow Leopard Server prompt that was created on an older Mac.

    * The client has this old Snow Leopard Mac. Unfortunately, it won't run VMware Fusion 7. It will run in VMware Fusion version 5, however. The customer wants to run VMware Fusion 5 on the old Mac to create the Snow Leopard Server on old Mac prompt, then copy the comments for the new Mac where it can run under VMware Fusion 7.

    HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:

--> How can the customer buy VMware Fusion 7, but also to download a copy of VMware Fusion 5 for this operation 'create a Snow Leopard Server prompt' unique on the old Mac?

-> Will VMware provide a Fusion 5 license when the trial period expires on the old Mac before the customer can get a Snow Leopard Server comments work?

I sent you this link last night via Message private and also posted in your other thread on the subject.  You should be able to use as disk utility here: create a disk image of physical Mac OS X install media.

If this process fails to create an image that starts on your newer Mac, please let us know, as this is a question we want to address.  I'm not aware of any circumstances which require a downgrade from Fusion 5 install Snow Leopard Server.

    Thank you

  • Unable to see the computers in the workgroup or server to print to my HP laptop, but I can all ping and access the internet through the router.

I have a laptop HP with XP pro. I have a network with 2 computers laptops (Dell and HP), 1 office and 1 DP300U DLINK print server with a static IP address. I use a LINKSYS WRT110 router. Everything is connected through this router. I can ping ALL laptops, the office and the print server. I can access internet from all laptops and office. All THE MACHINES are in the same workgroup. Only from my DESKTOP (XP HOME), I can click on FAVORITES NETWORK, click VIEW group of WORK COMPUTERS and I can see the other compters and the print server. However, since my computer Dell laptop or HP LAPTOP (XP PRO) I can PING the router and the journal in it, all the other machines and print server but can NOT SEE THE OTHER COMPUTERS or ACCESS THE PORTABLE HP computer or the other laptop. I turned off all firewalls and firewall McAfee (PORTABLE HP computer) and still no joy. I think that there is a box ticked somewhere or the one that is checked and who should not, but I can't find out where it is or something else to look at. Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you reconnect then wireless.

problems with wireless Vista "local only".

How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you then reconnect wireless... nothing else was changed on those computers and other devices can connect ok?

    Hello

Each router is assigned to the specific address (called IP address or IP address). And each router maintains its own database (called as base of router) to follow the networking devices communicate with him. When the router is changed, the particular router is unable to detect the device, especially the network card to communicate with the computer.  Since he does not have details of the database of network devices, communicate with him.

    • You are able to access the Internet?

Try the steps mentioned below and check:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Enable or disable a network adapter and then check:

  • Cannot run the computer virtual created using converter on Windows Server 2003

Thus, in preparing to begin to make the trip fully virtualized server infrastructure that we take the step of baby from the conversion of a print server must be on the virtual world.

I made use of VMWare Converter (5.0.1 or whatever the latest version is) on the box. This is a Windows 2003 Server R2, Standard Edition. Again, all made of this box is for a work of print server. I just wanted to see if using the converter on the machine would work.

The conversion process took place without a hitch and the files created from it have been moved to the server in question. Thus, in Fusion, I try to open the said. VMX associted with the new converted file server and I have hit with:

VMware Fusion cannot connect to the virtual machine. Make sure that you have the rights to run the program, access to all directories of the program uses and access all directories for temporary files.

So, I assumed that it was strictly a permissions problem. I used and checked the 'Info' to the parent directory section and apply permissions to the included items. All permissions wise, seems to be as it should and yet it is the same error each time.

So, I guess I'm just not sure why it did not work. My only experience with converter has so far been on desktop computers, and they have always worked without problem in Fusion.

BTW have you tried to uninstall/reinstall VMware Fusion and reboot after each even if not invited?  Note that VMware Fusion of uninstalling/reinstalling does not remove Virtual Machines.

  • New Server 2.0 installation, cannot run the Web Interface.

Just installed VMWare server 2.  Windows XP X 64.

Used to use 1.x and when they change to the new style because I couldn't make it work then or on the left.

Now I have a job that needs me to use it. So no choice.

I get a mixture of problems just trying to connect to the * ing WebService.

First: No answer, just a white screen.

Second, it evokes the login, and when I type my details it won't let me. Myriad of errors of the operation failed on the server is down.

Third: He seems to accept the details, but just once more with a white screen.

Third: It lets me and display stuff, but then the lower panel said only: "loading...". "and nothing else.

    I tried:

activation of SSL2 (makes the connection bit faster when it worked, but not worked as frequently)

    Confirming the service is running

Upgrade to the latest version of Java and TomCat say to use

Also checking hosts for its content file and deleted everything else, but the details of closure. Still nothing.

Change of address to the server name localhost. No dice.

Changed static ip address. No help

Changed the address bar to the ip address. Nada

Tried with and without secure connection and above all different addresses. Guess what has been the result? Nothing.

    etc etc.

Now I'm at the end of my * attached with this stupid program.

I have much better to do than wax autour with this shit.

Please can someone make me a sort.

    TIA

First of all, XP is not a supported for VMware Server host operating system. Second, please stop using certain "key" words you used in your post, even if VMware Server mind...

In all, it sounds like everything just works very slowly in your case. Have you considered using Vmware Player already? It does not use this web GUI, with that many people have problems.

However, what run you next to VMware Server?

Is there a special reason why use VMware Server? He is no development work was for him more.

  • When you run the script via VMware tools when power changed, some commands in script (as a copy) has failed.

I came across a very strange question. I tried to create some custom vmware scripting tools, such as a new .bat file. This file contains a large number of orders, mostly as copy command "copy file://\\192.168.172.5\abc.exe c:\. ». I set this file as a custom script for Script event - power on guest operating system. Everything goes well with the bat file when I tested it. But after that I changed the State of power to power on, all other commands work fine except the copy commands in the bat file. Why? How can I make it work? Of course the problem of network. And that makes me very confused.

    Hello

First copy the files on local disk was OK.

If this works for local disk, but not to a network drive, then hit you indeed a permissions issue any.

But if I run the script with tools VMware service script, the commands of copy (of the remote shared folder) failed while other controls worked well. I'm quite confused.

In fact, it is easily explained. The VMware tools service (Yes, it's a service) runs under the account Local system and by default, the local system account has no access to the network for security reasons. You can change the user of the service runs under and see if that solves your problem (very likely)

To do this, go to computer management (right-click icon desktop, select 'Manage') and open Services and Applications, service page, locate the VMware Tools service in the list. Select properties, log on to the page tabs and change account at your own Local System account. Restart the service and it should work.
