Running commands via SSH

Hello

I'm trying to use VCO SSH plugin to run certain commands on my host.
Connection works fine and orders such as availability, hostname work too.
What I want to do is to run the command mkdir create some folders, but it still fails (IE mkdir \vswp\volumes\myvol\mydir)

What I ultimately want to achieve is to clone the disks with vmkfstools

Any thoughts?

If you try to create folders on linux/ESXi, please note that you should not use ' \ ' but ' / '.

I.e. mkdir/mnt/NewFolder

    Hi all

    What is the way of interacting ssh vith help API and application plink to run commands on a C20 looged as an administrator?

    I am able to execute commands as root for example to perform a reboot:

    Batch script:

    C:\putty\plink.exe-SSH IP_Addresss-l root pw - password C:\C20restartjob\c20.txt m

    C20.txt:

    echo restart now

    What I use in the c20.txt file if the command is recognized?

    SW: TC 6.X

    Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Played a little further - and found something that works for plink.

         C:\>PLINK.EXE -ssh testc60 -l admin -pw TANDBERG<>

    where C20. Cotains TXT:

         xcommand boot

         bye

    The "bye" is really useless if the reboot - to do, but if you show other xcommands then unplug the codec at the end of all your orders.

  • Running studiocli via ssh using authorized_keys o causes Epic build Fail

    Preface: I use authorized_host ssh keys to implement my non ssh sessions.

    Do this command in the shell of my build machine:

    SSH o 'StrictHostKeyChecking no 'root@myip' studiocli - createbuild - profile opt/vmware/var/lib/build/profiles/Build.xml--debug--verbose'

    Results output and following (epic fail of my attempt of construction):

    Failed: Failed to reset the process group identifier

    I followed it down to the code following in studiocli python (I commented).

        1. change vabs in a group of various different process than the OBA

        2. avoid the process OBA is killed during the cancellation of construction *.

      1. try: *.

      3. except OSError: *.

      4. Failure ("Unable to Reset process Group ID") *.

    What impact will this have on my versions if I comment on him?

    Is there a better way to call studiocli in ssh?

  • PS M4110 command output ssh

    Hello world

    I've encountered a weird problem our PS M4110 of storage. When I ssh into the management console and a command (for example: pool see the default selection), it returns a correct output - information on the default pool. However, when I send the same command as part of the ssh command (for example: ssh [email protected] "hen see the default selection"), - after a successful authentication -, I get the message ' unsupported command: pool see the default selection.

    I use ssh it very long with all kinds of devices, and what's more, I have a vague memory that actually used to work even with this particular case. Someone has an idea of what could be a problem?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    When you connect as grpadmin, you are in a group CLI program.  This is not the same thing you are trying to execute commands via SSH.  Orders are not passed IN the CLI program.

    If you want to run commands, download the Scripting Host tools since EQL support site.  You select the Firmware version that you are running.  You can use the current version of the same family.  That is, if you run 7.1.0 you can select Package 7.1.x version.  You can find a link for the Scripting Host for Linux and Windows tools.   These have all the files you need to use PERL or Python to script on the chart commands.  There are examples of included scripts.  I prefer PYTHON PERL for how its text handling and better support for SSH.  PERL seems to do better through TELNET which I do not use. Installation of PYTHON PARAMIKO makes it transparent.

    If you install the HIT / ME software that includes also all the PowerShell cmdlets, you need.

    Kind regards

  • Command update the esxi update 5.1 to 5.1 2 via SSH

    Could someone send me the command update ESXi 5.1 5.1U2? (assuming I already downloaded and copied the update to the host)

    I know it's something like esxcli the software profile install d [something, something, etc.], but I think that I've got the syntax.

    THX!

    VMware KB: Installation of patches on an ESXi host from the command-line 5.x

    1. Download the update and transfer it to any store of data that is available for the ESXi host
    2. Connect to the host via SSH ESXi
    3. Put the ESXi host in maintenance mode.

    # vim - cmd hostsvc/maintenance_mode_enter

    4. go to the directory on the data store where the patch file was transferred to and verify that the file exists:

    # cdvmfs/volumes/Datastore/DirectoryName
    # ls

    Verify that you can see the file that you downloaded. I guess that the file you downloaded is in zip format. In this case,.

    5 # software esxcli vib install d ' "/vmfs/volumes/Datastore/DirectoryName/PatchName.zip".

    More options are in VMware KB. Please see that as well.

    See you soon.

  • Deletion of snapshots via SSH

    I have a RN102 with 2x3TB red WD leads to XRAID2. I deleted all my photos except one (instant action is 191 GB). However, snapshots take up a lot of space:

    He has not recovered "over time", so I thought to delete manually via SSH. My gaze of 5 actions 4 like this where each record contains a lot of data (taken copies of my actions):

    Would I ruin anything by deleting them?

    Also, is it the result of a bug? Why space is not recovered when I delete images via the GUI?

    Thank you!

    Here are the shots that have not been successfully upgraded when you updated of the pre - 6.2.x 6.2.x firmware (or later).

    You could do

    # touch .force_snapshots_upgrade
    # systemctl restart readynasd

    These shots should then be upgraded and you can then delete the admin web UI.

    The space is recovered only when you delete pictures if the snapshots that you delete contains the only copy of certain data. If the current data or snapshots that you do not delete also contain spatial data not to be released to the top. Also, when you delete snapshots that the system will have to recursively update other snapshots. It can take some time if you have many snapshots.

    Once you have removed all the clichés that you want and the use of volume of less than 80% return, I would say that you then run a balance.

    Hey Elias,.

    SSHv1 does not support the password as you can do in telnet. You must be

  • BASH command via the console script

    All,

    I had to run a a series of BASH commands via the Script Console to a subset of servers. Is there a script for this that I can take a look? Or direct me to the controls, I might need.

    You need to encapsulate in a script on the remote host to do.

    actSvc = server["ActionService"]params = [:]params.put("COMMAND_LINE","/home/foglight/testBashScript.sh")params.put("HostName","centosvm1")actSvc.invoke("RemoteCommandAction",params)

    This will run the script shell on the host remote centosvm1

    the bash script contains the statement echo inside.

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 foglight dba 99 Jan 17, 12:09 testBashScript.sh

    [foglight@centosvm1 ~] $ testBashScript.sh more

    #! / bin/bash

    echo 'Test Action of Bash Script remote command execution' > /tmp/ForumOutput.txt

    [foglight@centosvm1 ~] $

    -rw - r - 1 foglight dba 56 Jan 17, 12:12 ForumOutput.txt

    [foglight@centosvm1 ~] $ /tmp/ForumOutput.txt more

    Run the test of the Action of the remote Script Bash command

    [foglight@centosvm1 ~] $

    I have tried a few iterations to try to echo the commands directly in a command param file but did not

    Hope this helps

    (1) stop all virtual machines running on the host ESXi

    How to achieve this via SSH?

    Thank you.

    SE connect-VIServer $vc

    # Gets the list of all virtual machines in the data center (except the vCenter VM itself)

    $vms = get-data center-name $dc | Get - VM | where {$_. - don't $vc name - and $_.} PowerState - eq "Receptor"}

    # Stop the virtual machines in the data center located in a State power.

    {Foreach ($vm to $vms)

    if($VM.) {ExtensionData.Config.Tools.ToolsVersion - only '0')}

    stop #gracefully

    Stop-VMGuest - VM $vm - confirm: $false

    sleep - 60 seconds

    #forcefully VM stop

  • Sql XE over procedures run command line

    Greetings experts,
    I am trying to familiarize themselves with the command-line of XE and PL/SQL procedures, so what I do, I wrote a simple script that creates a procedure that prints its input value. Then I compile and run it via the command line.

    The following is the script (small_proc.sql):
    create or replace procedure sproc (printthis in number) is

    begin

    dbms_output.put_line('the value is' || printthis);

    end;
    /
    Question:
    1. I compile the script by:
    @small_proc
    then I run:
    run sproc (4);
    It is said that the procedure is carried out, but it's not printing anything (I think that "the value is 4").
    Something wrong with my code or my step?

    2. How can I change the path environment so that I can't copy the script in the bin every time
    I want to run it?

    3. How can I check environment path in this command line?

    Forgive my ignorance.
    Kind regards
    Valerie

    Hi, you have to sent in SQL * more:

    Set serveroutput on;

    exec sproc (4);

  • How can I get run command Wizard in windows 7

    How can I get run command Wizard in windows 7

    Help & Support:

    That became the command run?

    The run command no longer appears on the start menu in this version of Windows. The search box that appears in the start menu provides much of the same functionality as the command run. However, the command run is still available if you prefer to use. You can even add it to the start menu for easier access.

    To add the run command to the start menu
    Click to open the taskbar and Start Menu Properties.

    Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.

    In the list of options on the start menu, select the command box run and then click OK. Run the command will appear on the right side of the start menu.

    Tip:
    You can also access the command run by pressing the logo Windows + R key.

  • 'customer support files required' problem connecting using vSphere via SSH tunnel

    I am trying to connect to my ESX Server using the vSphere by tunnel via SSH client. I did in the past, but it does not work now. I am fwding ports appropriate (443, 902, 903) and have done the "hosts" file entry appropriate, as well. When I try to connect, I get the expected certificate error, and when I reject, I get a dialog box saying that I need to download the "required client supports files ', and of course I can't download them from the site vsphereclient.vmware.com while I'm in the tunnel. I'm confused about why I get this message, because I can connect to the ESX Server using the installed version of vSphere, if I directly (i.e. without a SSH tunnel).

    Any thoughts? I am in urgent need of remotely administer my VMs, any help would be most appreciated.

    It turns out that VMWare Workstation is listening on these ports, and PuTTY tunneling is silently failing... so it seems that I connect to my ESX box, but not really. Deactivation of VMware Workstation, Server and the authorization server to fix it.
