Hello

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. • Runtime Error 216 at 0040418 has

Sometimes when I download games from a trusted site, I sometimes get the message: "Runtime Error 216 at 0040418 A" I tried to fix this by finding some good scanners that will solve the problem, but simply fail because they are not supported on Vista 64-bit systems. Is there a good way to get rid of this annoying error for my 64-bit system?

    SEGPED,
You must check with the Publisher of the games for this view to check that they are able to be played on a 64 bit system.  Given that this only happens with games on their site, it may be something that they know and have a resolution for. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

    Hello

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?

If Yes, then I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

This error occurs if your computer has been infected by a Trojan SubSeven virus. I'll get to make a virus on your computer check to remove the virus.

You can also try antivirus scan online currently running on the computer:

NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that restore you the computer mode normal startup such as suggested in step 7 of the above article.

  • Runtime error 216 at startup

    Original title: update windows
What is runtime error 216? This appears on my screen often when opening my pc.

I go to windows update but I'm not effective to solve this problem. What

    must I do?

    Hi Elpiniki,

Runtime error is a software or hardware problem that prevents a program to function properly. Runtime errors could cause you to lose information in the file that you are using, causing errors in the file (corrupt the file) so that you cannot work with it, or prevent you from using a feature. Unlike stop errors, errors lead usually Windows or a program to stop working.

This problem can also occur if your computer is infected with a virus.

1 are you aware material or changes on the PC before this problem?

    2. are you also cannot install Windows updates?  Do you have an error message when you try to run Windows updates?

Kindly, follow these methods and check if that helps.

    Method 1:
Performs a search using the Microsoft safety scanner.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:
If this does not help, I suggest you check in a clean boot state in order to verify if a third-party program is causing the problem.

  • Why open links in Firefox causes a "Server error in ' / ' Application Runtime Error" but not in "Internet Explorer"?

When I click on certain links in an e-mail message (and Firefox is the default browser), I get the following error:

When you look at the address in the address bar, it seems to coincide with the e-mail?

It seems that Firefox has sent the server something it was not expected. Sometimes this can be caused by obsolete or damaged cookies - assuming that you have visited the site before. It could also result in changes of standard information sent to servers such as the string 'user agent' that specifies your version of browser and operating system.

To clear cookies for a site, while displaying a page on the site, either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.

Then try to reload the page. Who help me?

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
