Want dv7 wifi reception

Hi I'm a dv7 Notebook and I noticed that my wifi signal tends to be weak and more irratic I expect. Other mobile home have a stronger and more stable signal from the same locations.  This problem seems to be different from similar posts I've seen.

Windows 8

BIOS F.28 - 25/07/2013

  • Less Wifi reception after replacing the screen

Hi, can someone tell me what might be wrong. After that I fell on my phone, I had replaced (RESTful) screen. Everything works fine, but the Wifi reception is worse then before. Contact RF cable problem? Or a smart Wifi (if aboard all) is able to do this?

    Anything else?

    Thank you!

    Hi @alfred52,

It is difficult for us to determine what could be the reason for this, unless you get your phone looked to one of our authorized service center as uliwooly suggested.

  • Low wifi reception on CQ10-400 ca Windows 7

I find that I have low WIFI reception on a ca CQ10-400 running Windows 7.  Using InSSIDer 2.1 I receive signals amplitude of 65-70 to a runnng away from WIFI AP 10 ft @ 175mw.  I have a HP Elitebook 2530p just next to get signals from 20-30 dB, the power settings are set to maximum.  I removed the checkmark on the power on the parameters according to the recommendation of compaq.  I tried the old drivers and the new.  RALink 3.0.13.0 and 3.2.1.0.  Does anyone know if this is normal for this model?

I solved it.  Having considered very carefully the maintenance manual, I noticed that black and white antenna drivers have been reversed.  A reversal of the cables solved the problem and he now gets a signal as strongly as any of my laptops.  http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02481106.PDF  Thanks to Compaq manuals.

  • Want DV7-7230us: HP Envy DV7-7230us dual band wireless compatibility

    Hi all -

I have a DV7-7230us that I've updated massively since the purchase at a great price about 3 years - new display, 500 GB SDD, Win10-Pro, memory maxed out, etc..

This laptop has all the abilities and raw power I need a laptop, but one thing that bothers me is the minimap original wireless in - it's single-channel video, 2.4 GHz a/b/g.

I would like to replace it with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 2 x 2 Networok/Bluetooth adapter (7260.HMWWB. (R), but I just want to ensure compatibility before you start down this path here - anyone had success and/or advice I should on this? If not compatible, does anyone know card dual band wireless compatible AC that works?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Your machine was built long before mid-2014, so the chance to upgrade the wifi card is slim to zero. There is a list on page 7 of the following document:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03591253.PDF

Option: AC USB wireless card is the way to go.

    Kind regards.

  • improve WiFi reception?

Maybe not fair, but I sat with my xoom beside my laptop great hp pavilion dv7.

I am able to capture distant signals from wifi on my laptop and connect - but on the xoom does not even see the ssid.

Now, my evo also don't like weak signals or report all of them as existing.

I imagine that my gigantic dv7 just has a great antenna and I'd be happy about - but curious if maybe the case or a setting might improve my reception on the xoom.

Yes, as you mentioned, I guess it's not fair to compare this laptop with the Xoom. I'm not an expert on the material at all, but I guess it would be easier to put a better antenna on a big laptop compare smaller tablet. It can even have multiple antennas.

I'm not aware of any way to improve reception on the Xoom (of course, do not put it inside a box or do not hold it against your chest ).

Just to make sure that, when you are closer to your WiFi router, the Xoom can see and connect properly, right?

  • Want DV7 7255 DX: Can I put RAM in HP Envy DV7 7255 DX

I have a HP DV7 want 7255 DX, and I look to updrade significantly the amount of RAM. I don't know if I can even update, and if I can improve, how much more I can put in. Here are the specs curent:

    Laptop product #: C6N73UA #ABA

Curent RAM: 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 DIMM)

    Slot 1: 2 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

    Slot 2: 4 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

I would like to replace the very minimum, current 2 GB with a 4 GB key (the same as the current 4 GB in there), to have a total of 8 GB. I would also consider that, by replacing the two slots with 8 GB sticks for a total of 16 GB. It looks like my OS is fine with that, just do not know if the motherboard would be able to use it. (IE: I don't want to put in more can be used and only waste money on it, if 8 GB is the maximum).

I recently installed Avid editing software and it says I need a minimum of 8 GB to operate effectively. I also have Virtual PC installed to run a hidden player XP for old software that I still use, and I noticed a considerable delay in all that done in windows 8.1 while virtual drive is running simultaneously. I suspect that this could be also related to the not enough RAM.

Bottom line: is it possible to put the amount of RAM, and if so, how can I put it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I understand that in the certified modules like the original HP or Kingston, manufacturers already proposed this setting, so it's very unlikely for 16 GB hot much more than 6 GB original.

  • want dv7 - 7227cl

I just bought a new dv7 - 7227cl with 8 windows pre installed, I have an ssd (Crucial CT064M4SSD2 M4 64GB 2.5 "SATA III) I'm trying to install in the main hard drive and move that he arrived with a secondary drive, how can I reinstall windows 8 on the ssd, I made the recovery disc, but it will not install on the ssd. I have HP e mailed and they said that if I order the recovery disks, it will install on the ssd. but I called for more information and told me that I can't use an ssd at all, its quite different. can someone please give me a clear answer, I don't want to buy a new win8, I have no problem buying the recovery discs, if they are different than the one I created.

    Thanks in advance

Link to download Windows 8 (not Pro) 64-bit OEM .iso:

    http://www.Google.com/URL?SA=t & rct = j & q = en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso & source = web & cd = 1 & cad = AJLN & sqi = 2 & ved = 0CC0QFjAA & url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fopen%3Fid%3D0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg & ei = ftWCUd29BciB0QHSioGABg & usg = AFQjCNGk_fXi98HFb4oC59xNqqGxDLH - 4Q and bvm bv.45960087, d.dmQ

You don't know how to burn an .iso in a bootable drive, right? I still think 64 GB will be very tight, but if you exercise the discipline as ensuring the program installation and 'My Documents' on the other drive, you might be OK. Remove the drive from 750 GB during the installation of Windows 8... only have the SSD into the computer and make sure it is in the primary Bay. The drivers and preinstalled programs must be in an on the original drive swsetup folder in the c: / root.

It is hosted outside on google reader in the cloud and when you go to download, you will get a "we can't find the virus ' warning. I can say that I downloaded and used about 60 days ago to do exactly what you do... reinstall Win 8 on another hard disk on a new computer. It has worked well and there is no virus. You want to scan once you download it, however.

  • Want DV7 - 7227cl: Add bluetooth to urge DV7 - 7227cl

Y at - it a combo Mini PCIe wifi/BT card that will add Bluetooth to AMD 682220-001 motherboard

    Hello:

According to the service manual for your laptop, Chapter 3, page 28, there are a few cards, wlan/bluetooth of different model that are supposed to work with your model.

None of the Intel adapters will not work because your laptop has an AMD processor and chipset.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03591253

IMO, your best option would be to get the Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 1 × 1

Combo adapter HP Part # 657325-001.

You might be able to get this cheap card on eBay by questioning by the part number.

At the time that your model has been produced, HP began to remove the blocking of the BIOS.

A white list of BIOS contains the hardware ID's of the supported wireless cards HP can be used in specific model books.  If a wireless network card ID was not in the whitelist, the PC does not start until the wlan unsupported card is removed.

No one knows for sure exactly when it was made or on which models, so I recommend you buy a card with the HP part number thereon, or it may not work.

If you want to roll the dice and assume that the white list does not exist for your model, you can go to the broadcom dual band with bluetooth adapter.

    Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2 × 2 Wi - Fi adapter, card Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 HP Part # 730668-001

  • WiFi reception bad blackBerry Smartphones?

Hello - I just my BB for Christmas and so far I like it... but I have a little problem with WiFi call is received.

Unfortunately, my house is a black hole and I can't receive the regular reception on my career in the House. I have to connect VIA WiFi, which was fine with other phones - crystal clear and good reception to my router.

Now, with my Curve 8900, I can connect to great WiFi - no problem there... I can use the data and receive emails etc is no problem. My problem is - during a phone conversation on the WiFi, my reception is horrible. I can be standing right next to the router, and the phone cut in and out, is irritated and everything just horrible. Regular calls in my carrier without WiFi are great.

Is that a setting some part I have not found? I don't understand why the WiFi I can properly connect, send and receive data very well... but my calls are horrible.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
    See you soon!

Sorry... I forgot that I should add in my login details...

    I use a Linksys router

Security: WPA-Personal (it is protected by)

    Signal strength:-45 dBm

    Channel: 6

    Network type: 802. 11 b / g

    Hi coco,.

    Thanks for the reply!

I tried what you said - but it has not yet make any difference. Finally I had to call my service provider and she said that I had to turn on the setting QOS on my router. Everything seems to be fine now - so I guess that's it!

    Cheers and thanks again!

  • Want dv7 won't start, clicking

My wife and I have dv7 envy. She worked on an advertising campaign for a large company tonight and his computer screen went dark and the unit started clicking.

She tried to restart, without success - just a black screen and clicking.

Fortunately she has most of its data stored on an external hard drive, but the current campaign has not been registered there. Any ideas on what we can do to recover unsaved data, or how to solve the issue of this defective and very expensive paper weight?

(As a side note, when I bought my desire, I had to take immediately: it has no operating system installed!) The following one I got would not connect to internet after about 3 months, and I was tasked to do a factory reset by support staff.  Two weeks later, he left again. Then I was told to make a few minor changes in the way that the tracking system the functionality of timeout for Internet connections. My wife was OK that she had had bad experiences in the past with HP, and that things have not changed one iota? Sorry for the mug shot)

Any contributions to this issue will be appreciated.

I had this problem, I replaced the disk hard drive with 2 different ones, no luck, tried the RAM, motherboard number possible, this machine can hold 2 hard drives.
