Runtime error Vista Ultimate Upgrade

I recently bought and downloaded Vista Ultimate Upgrade of the site ultimate steal Microsoft.  I downloaded all three components: X 14 - 63453.exe, install.wim and boot.wim.  I am running Windows XP Media Center edition 2005 with Service Pack 3 installed.  In preparation for the installation of Vista, I did a clean install of XPMC edition.  The Vista Upgrade advisor identified all my compatible material.

Whenever I run the executable file either by hard drive, dvd or USB hard drive, I get the same error: "the application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. "I don't get an error number in the message window, but I get the following in under the errors to the system event viewer:

Generate activation context failed for E:\Mike's Files\Burned discs\Vista Ultimate 64 bit Red\X14 - 63453.exe. Reference error message: the operation completed successfully.

.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

At the exact same time stamp, I get:

Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT could not be found and last error was that the referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Research leads me to believe that libraries VC ++ are not included with the installer and therefore need to be installed on my system.  In the case of corrent what application do I need to install to get these libraries?  Office 2007?  If this is not the case, correct, any advice on how to get my Vista downloaded to work?

Mike

Hi Mike

Windows XP Media Center Edition is a 32-bit version of Windows.  You receive the error message because you are trying to level to a 64 bit Windows Vista version and is not possible.  There is more information about the installation of Windows Vista x 64 contained in the link below.

  • Vista Ultimate upgrade error - cannot find the driver

I need to upgrade a laptop Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate to connect to a network of MS Server 2008. Home Premium runs on SP1, and I bought an upgrade ultimate retail package which has Ultimate SP1. • Reinstall the Vista Ultimate upgrade after replacing hard drive - remove Windows PowerShell

My HDD recently crashed and the manufacturer (Dell) gave me a new one with the software and systems II had orginially purchased pre-installed on the drive.  In this case, I had Vista Home Premium installed.  I got about a year ago, bought and upgraded to Vista Ultimate and I'm now trying to reinstall (I have it on DVD).  When I do, I get a message that I must remove Windows PowerShell before upgrade.  I can't find PowerShell in the application removal utility, even if I can find it when I search in the start menu.

Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

In addition, since the beginning of this thread, I found the following instructions in another thread:

    How to uninstall Windows PowerShell

To uninstall Windows PowerShell 1.0 in Windows Vista, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, in the Search box, type appwiz.cpl and press ENTER.
    2. In the tasks list, click View Installed Updates.
    3. In the list to uninstall an update , right-click right of Windows PowerShell (TM) 1.0 (KB928439), click on uninstall and follow the instructions to remove Windows PowerShell 1.0.

But, I do not see Windows PowerShell (TM) 1.0 (KB928439) in the generated list (although there are many, many others).  I found three programs of powershell appears when I put in the search box of start powershell.  Can I just delete them?

    Thank you.

Try download Revo http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/revo-uninstaller/revouninstaller.html to uninstall all the programs of PowerShell.  I hope that you will find the main program so it can be uninstalled.

If that doesn't work, uninstall each update of PowerShell that you find.  Also, check the master list of program to see if you can find.  A when done, reboot and start the installation again and see if you come up against the same error.  If so, we may have to try another way to get rid of it - but we will cross that bridge if we come to it.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Licensing issue? I need to replace the default motherboard with a 'Detail' education Vista Ultimate Upgrade on top of XP "OEM." Can legitimately transfer my license everywhere and how?

I am currently a computer on which I already installed XP OEM and upgraded to the edition upgrade Vista Ultimate retailers through the ultimate steal Microsoft.

    [Reminder]

The problem I have is that I've recently updated my graphics card to a card of Nvidia 7300GS card Nvidia GT240 on which my motherboard was properly assessed. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances (I dunno if it's associated graphics or an electrical surge problem, I suspect the latter as the card is fine) my PCI Express slot is fried! This resulted in the motherboard being unable to start any card in the PCI Express slot and gives a series of BIOS beep error codes. I even dug my old graphics (7300GS) and he was still unable to boot. Accordingly, I need to replace the motherboard for the PCI Express slot works if I use a graphics card.

    [Problem]

Since the license Vista Retail Upgrade that I use currently is the edition of 'detail', can I simply change my motherboard everything and turn it back on, or is it more complex because it is installed on the high XP OEM that is bound to the default motherboard? What are my options?

I have to buy another XP OEM license and reinstall everything from scratch? What happens if I didn't reinstall and just changed the motherboard and drivers updated my current installation? Is - is this legitimate?

As I understand it, the Windows for OEM license allows a person replace a motherboard of 'default' (GA-M55plus-S3G in my case) for a replacement under certain conditions, mainly as for everything. Am I entitled to it? If so, what motherboard would be I can replace by although it is considered an upgrade? I have in mind an ASUS M4A78L-M as it is cheap and comes with connectors female jack audio 8 channels on the backplate was on my old motherboard.

My main confusion is to know what license applies to me because of the upgrade process, retail of Vista or XP OEM? Upgrades medium I improve my driver's license?

I would like to solve this problem without canceling my licenst but just don't know how?

Thank you very much for any help or advice.

  • Problem of camera Chicony after Vista Ultimate upgrade on the Satellite A200 - 1CZ PSAEC

    Hey all.

I recently bought a Satellite A200-1CZ (PSAEC). It has Vista Home Premium preinstalled. But I wanted to be able to connect to my domain at work, so for this purpose, I had to upgrade to Vista Ultimate. The update itself went well, but after the upgrade, I can not the built-in Chicony webcam to work again. I tried to reinstall the software of the camera without success.

I also tried to plug the driver installation to the place on the PC where the drivers. He says that it is indeed the correct drivers, but there could be missing a post in the INF file. It seems that it must be written specifically for ultimate.

Anyone got a few other pilots or maybe a solution to this problem?

  • Satellite A200: After Vista Ultimate upgrade Chicony webcam does not work

    Hello

I hope someone can help me. For 3 weeks, I have buy the Toshiba A200 with Windows Vista Home Premium and very good built-in Webcam function. I have no problem.

Yesterday I did an upgrade to Windows Vista Edition full and now the Webcam does not work.
Every time when I want to launch the following software message come «Please activate the webcam»

In the it´s control panel that wrote this function of Doesna´t of hardware because the software isn't fair. But I have the right software. I have try the original software on me the hard drive and, of course, I do a download from Toshiba and I try this.
But I still got the same message.

    Please help me.

    Hello

I m not an A200 owner and, therefore, I can not say much about this webcam tool, but to my eyes the Chicony webcam software should work with Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, because this version is almost the same as Windows Vista Home Premium. The ultimate version supports more features like Home Premium, but the software is running and must be compatible with both versions of Vista.

How did you install Vista Ultimate? You perform a new installation of the OS, or you upgrade only the Home Premium-> Ultimate?

Anyway, currently version 1.0 of the Chicony camera software is available on the Toshiba page.
You may need to wait until the new update has been published.
