RV082 and fast VPN

I tried to configure my router RV082 all OE quick VPN access. I bought this router a few years back with the intention of setting up a VPN. Now that I need to do, this product is no longer supported.

In any case, down to the problem - I can not past the first problem. I get an error that says: "Unable to connect" and it lists 5 problems:

1. wrong password

2. no IP address for the network card

3. incorrect server address

4. you may need to disable your windows firewall

5. conflicts of IP addresses with the subnet of the remote VPN server

I just tackle these questions

1. I am using the correct password

2. I have an IP address, I can get on the internet

3 server address is correct

4. do not use the windows firewall (I have even disabled my firewall, netgear home but no help)

5. work 192.168.0.x subnet, host is 192.168.1.x, different subnets.

When I'm at home, I can connect to the remote router configuration page, but I can't get anywhere with fast VPN. I tried this on 3 different networks, all give me the same answer. I am inclined to believe that this must mean I'm incorrectly configured on the router, but I followed all the steps as described by linksys. I even upgraded to the latest firmware and the latest version of quickVPN all to nothing does not.

I use access rules to guide the SQL traffic to one of our servers, that is the question? Any ideas?

Thank you for your response. You are right it is not access rules, but it is the configuration of the router. In the tab "Firewall", you need to enable HTTPS. There was nowhere in the product manual update, I downloaded, but it was on the info for the Firewall page tab. The only reason why that I disabled it HTTPS is that my remote management session with the previous firmware would sometimes close unexpectedly under HTTPS. In any case, connection works fine now.

So my next question has to do with the speed. This is the first time I've gotten a quick VPN to work. When I connect to my ping time to a server is 60-80ms. At work, it is 1 ms. It is common to have a time big lag? Unfortunately at this slow speed this VPN may not be such a solution. I used a PPTP VPN in the past and latency are not too bad, but of course there is no encryption that is important here. Any thoughts on the speed?

  • Can fast VPN and VPN Cisco coexist (WRVS4400N)

I am looking to buy a WRVS4400N to take care of my home network.  While I get out on the road I want to VPN in my home network to my laptop (on which I installed Cisco VPN for the company's mobile access to my corporate network).  In this spirit, I have three questions:

    1. is the Cisco VPN client on my laptop be able to establish a VPN connection to unity WRVS4400N?  I suspect not, and instead, I have to use fast VPN.

    2. I understand there are problems in co existence with different suppliers, VPN clients (when I tried before with a Netgear router, the VPN Netgear client broke the Cisco VPN client).  Quick VPN client Linksys can coexist with the Cisco VPN client without any problems?

    3. a last resort, if Cisco and Linksys VPN can coexist, install the client quick VPN Linksys inside a VM Ware image would work (while the Cisco VPN client is still installed in the host operating system).

    Thanks much for any help.

    (1) correct.  For WRVS4400N QVPN

  • RV082 and Windows 7, no internet connection with active firewall

    Hello

I have a 1.3.98 - tm firmware RV082 and have recently upgraded several Machines to glass & RC for testing, but they can't access the internet.

They can access all the other mahcines internal, but cannot ping the router.  The first Pc I upgraded was beautiful and accessible to the internet without problem.

The second started Ok but then loses the internet connection.  It can access all internal machines and if I reboot it with XP (dual boot) it works fine.  He has been an operational machine without problems netowrk for 2 or 3 years.  I tried a diffetrn nic card and another cable froma different wall point in case there was a problem that XP could cicumvent and Windows 7 has been more difficult.

Now the second PC has started doing the same thing and wont connect to internet.

If I disable the firewall on the RV082 Windows 7 PC connect correctly.  Can I wathc the tray icon of system on the State of PC modification simply chagnign the status of the firewall on the router.

Occasioanlly a PC will continue to work for a short period before losing internet again or blocked him.  I have checkled newspapers and others are no entries in the standard newspaper.

I bypassed Vista Batteux ther so a setting or something I need to change on the window smachines, but as I have Windows 7 on test in withotu the Council to clarify a problem and my two lapotps and have connected through various cafes, Internet etc. even in Spain and Brazil without problem I tend to think it's a problem with the RV082.

    Any ideas would be helpful?

    Hey Kevin,

To clarify, we have not heard of this I didn't think (I am curious as well), did this start happening when you upgraded the computers?

Its sounds like it from what I've read, and also you can generate by activating and deactivating the FW on request, but this didn't happen until you have changed the PC SW?

If it does, then, looks like soemthing SW PC made and maybe you can endure a wireshark trace and try to sniff which continues when the PC tries to access the internet.   I'm not asking to review track, only that it can help you.    If you feel like it is a defect of the Cisco product, you can open a folder with the Small Business Support Center and they will watch the track with you.

    > Buy a SATA II (3 Gb/s and 500 GB 7200 RPM) for this computer?

Yes, you can, however, due to limitations in the T61, there only a SATA I interface. This isn't really a problem because the drive itself is unable to transfer data at the maximum speed of the interface.

    Hello world

I have a Vista Ultimate SP2 system and all updates, my hardware is an AMD Athlon 64 x 2 3.2 Ghz with a RAID 0 (2 discs), 4 GB of RAM, video memory shared up to 1 GB, Asus M2A-VM Motherboard.

My problem is that sometimes when you work with any my computer shutdown application package to meet any keyboard or mouse control for 2-3 seconds and suddenly come back with tasks in the queue and fast as usual.

I've updated my Chipset and RAID drivers.

I uninstalled ASUS ACPI Center who could be one of the causes of this problem, rename the executable to Center asus acpi.

I ran TuneUp Disk Doctor to verify my RAID and fix problems

I update and updated my Antivirus ESET Smart Security in order to improve the performance of the process EKRN who sometimes take a large part of the time CPU.

Can someone advice me how track and what tools to use to run a diagnosis of systemd and check if my problem is with the hardware or the operating system?

Run process monitor. Stop the trace when your problem occurs. Look through the timestamps of the gaps.

  • Cisco and Checkpoint VPN clients on a single PC

    Hello

    I'm in the following fix:

I had used customer Checkpoint SecuRemote 4.1 SP - 5 VPN in the past.

Now, I have installed the Cisco VPN client version 4.0.4 on my PC to access IPSec VPN for the PIX in our headquarters.

According to Cisco VPN release notes http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/vpn/client/rel404/404clnt.htm#wp1346340 , it should be possible to have clients both Cisco and Checkpoint VPN installed on the same machine.

But I am not able to connect to my PIX, I receive the following error message:

"Secure the complete VPN connection locally by the Client.

Reason 403: failed to contact the security gateway. »

When I'm looking for signs of PC control-> system-> hardware-> device Administration-> network cards, I can see Cisco Systems VPN Adapter disabled.

After you activate manually, I always get the same error when you try to connect to the Cisco VPN client.

After PC restart the Cisco VPN adapter is disabled later.

I tried to uncheck Check Point SecuRemote form my Dial-up connection (bypassing CSCea31192 of bug, but the bug does not affect NAT - T connection which I use).

I noticed the same situation on three different computers, one running Windows XP, both running Windows 2000.

After uninstalling the client Checkpoint completely (including Windows registry manual removal), the Cisco VPN client works very well.

It seems to me, therefore, that there is a profound mismatch between Cisco and Checkpoint VPN clients.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

    Thank you

    Milan

We had the same problem with some of our users who need to use the two clients to connect to customer sites.

If I remember the cisco client does not start automatically, but the client of checkpoint 4.1 don't.

We by-passed by deleting the registry entry point control that starts the client at startup. fwenc.exe is the entrance and it is in

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

After that make a shortcut to the executable file that is stored in the directory \bin to relevant checkpoint on the client (it is different from NT & 9 client x) and then only start when it is necessary.

    Hope that's a help

  • Site2Site and remote VPN

I have a site2site between PIX506 and 877 router VPN. Site A has PIX506 and Site B router a in 877. I configured site2site VPN and it worked fine. I also configured remote VPN on PIX 506 so that the remote user can access A site. But when I configure remote VPN on PIX506 site2site VPN works and both sides can ping each other. But site B users cannot access any resource network or application of the SiteA while site A can access resources of site B. • ASR1K and SSL VPN

I'm having trouble finding information on SSL VPN for ASR1K, when we bought the boxes told us that SSL VPN was on the roadmap of the software, but that was back in 2010 and now I can not find anything nor can I get the right information.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what to do or who to ask?

PLS, contact your Cisco account manager as he or she would be able to provide additional information.

There is normally a long list of features to add to the product, and SSL VPN is one of them who was asked to appear on the ASR. However, depending on the needs, it might be on the top of the list of the road map, or to the bottom of the list. Your Cisco AM should be able to get information from the product team.

The simpton is that DNS resolution is slow or fails in the Mac App Store, Firefox, Safari, etc.. I once solved this in hard reseting the RV082 and get to the page were it ask a firmware and does not work until you download the firmware.

I did this same procedure, but no longer works. Everyone knows this too?

    Hi oliversl1,

Thank you for posting. Please provide additional information:

    1. What type of internet connection? (Cable, DSL, T1)
    2. No matter what Windows PC? If so, it works ok?
    3. A new hardware version 3, is the RV082? If this is not the case, do you know how old he was?
    4. What version of the firmware?

Please as well see the following:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2022782

We also had a problem with Mac computers and RV0xx which has been tentatively scheduled by a downgrade of firmware. I think it was firmware version 1.3.12.19 - tm who had problems with the Mac.

  • WebVPN and remote VPN access

    Hello

Is there a difference between WebVPN and remote VPN access or they are the same.

    Thank you.

    access remote vpn consists of

-IPSEC VPN remote access. It is part of the ASA, no permit required, requires pre-installed Client from Cisco VPN IPSEC on PC

-with AnyConnect SSL VPN remote access. It requires licensing of SSL VPN on SAA. AnyConnect client can be installed automatically on the PC with the launch of web.

-with Essentials AnyConnect SSL VPN remote access. Beginning with ASA 8.2 (1), almost license $ 0. It's the same AnyConnect client as in the previous article, but it cannot be installed automatically with the launch of web. It must be previously installed as of Cisco IPSEC VPN client.

-webvpn aka clientless vpn. It is a portal HTTPS which allows HTTP connections, file sharing, telnet, RDP and much more (with smart tunnels) resources without having to install a real client on the PC. It requires licensing of SSL VPN on SAA. It cannot be used if "AnyConnect Essentials" license is activated on SAA after 8.2 (1)

  • PIX and ASA static, dynamic and RA VPN does not

    Hello

I am facing a very interesting problem between a PIX 515 and an ASA 5510.

The PIX is in HQ and has several dynamic VPN connections (around 130) and IPsec vpn remote works very well. I had to add a PIX to ASA L2L VPN static and it does not work as it is supposed to be. The ASA 5510, at the remote end, connects and rest for a small period of time, however, all other VPN connections stop working.

The most interesting thing is that ASA is associated with the dynamic map and not the static map that I created (check by sh crypto ipsec his counterpart x.x.x.x). However, if I make any changes in the ACL 'ACL-Remote' it affects the tunnel between the PIX and ASA.

    Someone saw something like that?

    Here is more detailed information:

    HQ - IOS 8.0 (3) - PIX 515

    ASA 5510 - IOS 7.2 (3) - remote provider

Several Huawei and Cisco routers dynamically connected via ADSL

    Several users remote access IPsec

A VPN site-to site static between PIX and ASA - does not.

The problem is that the ASA has a crypto acl defined between host and network, while the remote end has to the network.

Make sure that the acl is reversed.
