RV120W ROUTER/firewall "cannot display the webpage".
I have a small LAN using a T1 of One Communications line. Static IP address.
30 workstations. Windows 2003 DHCP server.
Installed new RV-120W firewall router last week replacing an old unit of Netgear.
Configure VPN tunnel on the unit, have remote access for about 10 users.
This part works well. A little slow, but acceptable.
My question: is internet connectivity on internal LAN in and out. She's very agitated.
Upload and download speed has been consistent (~2.5M/sec)
External Pings see the very minimal loss.
Users have seem intermittent loss of web streams and corrupt downloads. web activity 90% is ok, but we continue then getting "cannot display the webpage error."
NSLOOKUP displays the DNS, but occasssionally "TIMEOUT" occurs.
I got the provider perform loopback tests and replace WIC on CISCO 1841 router T1, but I still see the behavior.
I see by reading other forms, that it is an ongoing problem with the routers of RV.
My settings...
Public static IP / DNS on the router.
Reverses the MTU to 1500. I have adjusted downwards by increment to 1350.
Windows Server 2003 has RV120W address as the router / gateway.
T1 to CISCO 1841 ROUTER... to CISCO RV120W... to LAN CISCO SLM248G interrrupteurs (2).
I do not configure all redirects the port.
I continue the line tests on my end, but as I said this problem was not existing with Netgear unit.
Please indicate any change of setting / suggestions.
Hi Jason et al...
In my view, the technician are now experiencing a UDP on the Rv120W question.
The internal discussions on the issue of R & D and development seems to be;
1. default on RV120W a UDP Flood attack control that limit 25 UDP by customer connections in one case there, IE to a particular instance of time a PC behind the router can establish only 25 UDP Transactions, if we exceed router drops packets UDP.
2. we have a script that sends dns queries to search at a very high pace that the router deletes the entries in the UDP, in this way, that we accumulate the UDP entry in the router table (IE 25 entries)
3. once 25 limit is reached, we are unable to resolve DNS queries, in addition to using the script or by using the browser.
4. in real-world scenarios it could be a PC behind the router and open a website where all the elements on the Web page are related to the different website, if you open this type of Web site, it may have links to over 25 different site and clog the table routers UDP for the PC and the user may not able to solve queries DNS additional and impossible of browse all new Web sites. This inability to browse happens until the UDP entries on the router time dead and are deleted.
5. this limit of 25 is because of the feature called raw block UDP on the router that is enabled by default.
6. once we disable the block UDP Flood, router does not check 25 connections limit UDP and dns resolution is continuous, without interruption.
This is a customers in the area could be to see breaks in the DNS resolutions and browse site failed.
Some customers talked explicitly about DNS failures.
Jason I see that you have placed a service call, so I hope that CCORAL who posted August 15 should be helping you.
So people, if the technician finds the problem not a hardware issue requiring an RMA, the technician will intensify the call for our people of level 2 in the Irvine case, probably CCORAL. You will get a help to solve this problem.
The small business support center, should be aware of the problem. Please do not hesitate to show them this announcement, I am ready to discuss with them to get things moving.
Yet once, if you have not already done, please contact the HWC and place a request for service and keep a copy of this number they give you as a reference (you can need). My apologies for the inconvenience that you all had.

When I try to access gmail or goole I get the edict 'internet exploer cannot display the webpage '. Not sure why this happens, it happens for all search engines.
Hello
1. are you in a position to able to view other Web pages outside the search engines?
2 How long have you been faced with this problem?
3 did you recent hardware or software changes to your computer before this problem?
4. what version of internet explore do you use? Please answer these questions, that could help us help you better.
Try the troubleshooting steps provided in the article below.
You receive an error message in Internet Explorer: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/956196 -
After the removal of the malware "IE cannot display the webpage" - a user only
After removing various malware with Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, MalwareBytes 1.46 and the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, the user who received the malware (all detected instances are found on their profile or in the system restore points) can not access all the Web sites with IE 7:
"IE cannot display the webpage."
The administrator account, or another standard account have the problem.
I tried to open IE with 'no Add-ons' when you are connected to the consumer - same result.
I have reset the Internet Explorer settings on the tab 'Advanced' Internet Explorer (inetcpl.cpl) - same result.
Once more, the other two users can access Internet without problem.
The 'user' can access the network otherwise - e-mail, drives mapped to the server, etc...
One option: delete and re-create the profile of the user in question.
But before resorting to that, is there another option?
If I deleted Internet Explorer components in his profile, would they be recreated (correctly)?
System Restore is not an option, because the troubleshooting procedure indicated that we should delete because they could just bring back the malware. And indeed, the malware has been detected in several snapshots.
Have you tried to double check the proxy in Internet Explorer?
Try going to the Internet Option-> setting connection and LAN, check the setting and be sure to correctly configure other users.
You can also try to contact Symantec Support for more help with this problem.

I was an active member of this forum for more than a year and was just on the site yesterday. Yet, for some reason, today, I can not access the site. I tried clicking on a search link, manually type in the name of the site... nothing works. All I ever get is the message "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage"; no error codes... no nothing!
I have no trouble access to other sites with the exception of the McAfee site. I know that the site is running.
UPDATE: for some strange reason, now all of a sudden I can again access McAfee Forum site this morning. Still have no idea what happened here, but at least that the problem is now solved... I hope!
Thnks a lot for your time!
Hello
I am happy to know that your problem is solved. In case, if you need help, you can always post your questions as well as your valuable suggestions in this forum.

I am not able to access the MS Update site and receive page cannot be displayed error when I browse them directly or search results. I am able to navigate without problems to other web sites. Any ideas? I see all kinds of references to this in all directions, but the solutions that have been suggested do not work for me. I use McAfee anti-virus following personal firewall installed - version 10.15. I tried to disable the firewall (some messages indicate that this is what keeps me to access the update site), but still cannot access the MS. Update site
Any ideas?

Any attempt to access Microsoft Update leads to "Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage"
No error message appears. "Analyze the network connection" does not work.
I have XP with SP3, IE7, automatic updates on, no firewall other than Windows, all other work on Web sites, including updates for antivirus (Avira Antivirus personal), I've deleted browsing history and disabled the unrecognized programs modules. I have tried to run a UpdateFix.bat one of these positions without result. Help!15 + months your computer of late on the Windows updates. Do not waste time trying to solve it: the computer must not be connected to the internet or networks in its current state.
Backup of personal data (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then do a format and clean install of Windows. Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

I am running XP SP3 with IE8. A / V is McAfee of ATT Uverse. I downloaded the MSRT tool and ran in safe mode. Can't find any infected files. Has not run mode normal because svchost.exe has exhausted all of the CPU resources. At 8 instances of svchost.exe running at the same time. This computer has only 1 GB of memory and AMD 2 GHz processor. That is to say also jumps at randomly selected sites and opens the Windows SE. Just had it take me to 3 other sites while trying to log on to this site. I have another computer on a home network wireless with Vista, IE8 & Symantec that has no problem. Something other than gasoline and a match is not going to solve this?
OPTION A: There is a good chance that you see the effects of a hijackware infection!
NB: If you had no installed anti-virus application or subscription has expired * when the machine was first infected * and/or your subscription has expired since and/or the machine is not kept fully corrected in Windows Update, don't waste your time with any of the following: Format & reinstall Windows. A repair install won't help!

Otherwise...
1. see if you can download/run the MSRT tool manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
NB: Run the FULL scan, not analysis FAST! You may need to download the MSRT on an uninfected machine and then transfer the MRT. EXE to the infected machine and rename it to SCAN. EXE before running it.
