s-video will not work.

I have a presario 6305nr laptop with a geforce 6150 nvidia video card. I plugged the s-video connector for my laptop s-video port and the yellow video cable to my TV. Is this why I'm still not the monitor in display properties? (answer only if you know, not if you assume). I have the latest drivers from NVIDIA. Like a couple of people mentioned on these positions, I contacted HP via online chat, and when they could not help, they said ' hey, you laptop is 2 years, why not just get a new one, we're running promotions. UH no, I paid a lot of money for this one. Your solution to this 'old' computer work is not is getting a new? Shit what you say so you send, and when shit doesn't work, you just get a new one? HP make decent products, but their support sucks... SUCKS! But I digress. What I am doing wrong. Turn everything off. All connect. Turn on the TV. Switch to audio 1 video (which is the front of the television, where I have the video cable attached), power on laptop. Nothing. Before anyone asks, I have Vista Home premium. And Yes, I already went in display properties, click with the right button on the second monitor to make it active, but after I do it again, its inactive (he made this checkerboard thingy in display prop - do not do that up, if you haven't seen it then I suppose because its that you have never had my question.) I go into the NVIDIA Control Panel, he did not see a second monitor. I go to the Windows Mobility Center, check for monitor, nothing. Help! If you can fix this, I'll be impressed. I hope its something stupid like the s-video port on the cable does not work (which is insane, because otherwise the cables work fine.) I was using a / v portion without s/video to have my DVD hooked for a long time.) Good luck!

ERICO, thanks for the help, but not necessary. After all my troubleshooting apparently is what it was. I found another TV in the home with a real s-video port. a s - vid to s - vid... booted up laptop and TV flickered for a second, and he was there. HP online support is horrible by the way. You can say that they have no idea what they are talking about. When I asked them for help, they gave me options in XP and I have Vista. I went back and checked and confirrmed I already said that! This has happened 3 other times. I said no to something, and their response has been as if I said yes. In any case, anyone who reads this, unless you are a beginner, don't waste your time. Good reading these forums. Oh and in case you did what I did, directly go from s - vid, s-Video, although a / v cables are all connected to the same cable. Thanks for the help anyway guys!

Hey delittle632, this is probably due to the recent update of the plugin to version 11.3 adobe flash. It has caused similar problems for many other users (chrome & IE get provided with a different version of the plugin by adobe).

You can try to remove flash 11.3 of the section of the configuration/program windows downgrade to an earlier version & Control Panel, until adobe fixes these problems.

  • Videos will not work unless I have keep the cursor, or switch to full screen mode. This does not happen on Internet Explorer.

    I've updated the flash player.

In past threads, users said that they managed to solve this problem in a variety of different ways, suggesting that there may be multiple causes:

    • Remove unwanted extensions
    • Clean malware
    • Disable hardware acceleration
    • Change to a different drive Flash (developer/debugger version)

In response to these first two, here is my procedure suggested to track down and cleaning of the bad modules. I know it seems long, but it's not so bad.

    (1) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the undisclosed items bundle smoker who snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Beware of everything that you don't recognize / remember, since malware often uses sounding names important or innocent to discourage you remove. Out as much garbage as possible here.

    (2) open Firefox page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

    (3) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

  • Inspiron 630 m video will not work with external LCD TV

    Hey guys

Im having some trouble getting connect an inspiron 630 m and a jelly LN19A450 LCD screen TV.
I use a VGA cable connected to both VGA devices, but the TV does not detect my phone. I have already tested the cable with a multimeter and any work necessary pins OK.
When I connect everything and turn on dual monitor on my pc (Fn + F8) and go to the menu of the LCD TV, the source of 'PC input' is greyed out and I can't select (it should be highlighted or yellow since there is a signal from the laptop).

I tried to lower the resolution of 640 x 480 with no luck at all.
I have connected a normal CRT monitor to my laptop VGA port and it works, so my pc is OK.

In addition, the s-Video on my laptop has works okay, but he's had a pretty bad resolution. That's why I want to use the VGA cable instead.
I also heard about the problems of compatibility between computers laptops Sony and Dell and Samsung LCD TV. Samsung support guy told me something about the cable pin10. Supposedly, he needs to land. I checked my vga cable and its not connected to the Earth. I don't really know if this could be the cause this problem.

If anyone else has trouble to learn how to connect a Dell laptop with a samsung lcd tv, I'd appreciate any new info on this

  • Videos do not work

I loaded the new ios 10.0.2 and now my videos do not work. It does not matter if you use videos from your own library or netflix or any other program (app). You can see that the subtitles. Is the problem in the update or what I can do? It's really important for me to see the videos.

    Hi, ehli.suomi!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I understand that you're having trouble playing videos on your iPhone from your post, 6; videos from several sources (Netflix, your own library, etc.) will show the subtitles, but you do not see the real picture. Watching videos all day on my iPhone, so I know it's important that they play in fact; I'm happy to help you!

I have some troubleshooting I can offer to you. Before you begin, create a backup of your iPhone using iCloud or iTunes, following the instructions here: How to back up your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

Once you have your backup, try the following steps, in order. A video test after each step and will stop when the problem is resolved.

    1. Restart your iPhone by following the instructions here: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch
    2. If this happens on a Wi - Fi connection, try restarting the network you are using from the router or the modem (if possible). If it is a private (for example, your home network) WiFi network, try to remove all the devices on the network, then by simply adding your iPhone.
    3. Try a different network (including your cellular data network).
    4. Reset the network settings on your iPhone in settings > general > reset > reset network settings. This will affect all personal data (like your photos, contacts, calendar of events, etc.) but it will remove saved passwords, and Wi - Fi networks one previously used settings APN or VPN and all paired Bluetooth device.
    5. Restore your iPhone to factory settings, following the steps described here: use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to factory settings

Once the restore is complete, configure the iPhone as a new device (i.e. without using the backup that you created earlier, at least temporarily). You can sign in iCloud, iTunes and App Store, iMessage and FaceTime with your Apple ID test then a video.

If the problem is resolved, you can restore your backup by the information here: restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup

    Have a great day!

  • Made the switch from the Firefox chrome; now, meeting places and a few videos does not work

Salvation; I'm wanting to get away from chrome, but in firefox, I can't get the 'hangouts' working in gmail, even if I do not have the googletalkplugin installed on my pc. Another issue I see is that, on some pages, video does not work; in the latest version of chrome, I understand that the flash thing has changed and I guess that firefox has not changed in the same way. I hesitated when downloading a plugin, as shown on the screenshot for fear that it will mess up video in chrome, I would use chrome. I would rather not switch back from firefox to chrome to phone or watch the video. Help, please.

I asked for help on the hangouts thing before, but your suggestion 'install plugin' was not enough, so I request further assistance on this now. on the video thing, please just tell if I should download the plugin and whether or not it will affect the reading in chrome. Thank you

Working! I had the talk plugin set to always turn on but I had disabled the video because I only use the phone, but apparently, they both need to be addressed to always activate... Please mark this as resolved and thank you!

  • the videos do not work in Firefox, but work fine in windows Explorer. Why?

I tried to check my plugin and all are enabled. I found here where it was suggested to delete and reinstall Firefox, but that did not fix problem either. I tried to change the Viewer for video, but still no luck. Not sure why Quicktime does not work. Note that when browsing videos will not open, but everything else works fine. Videos work very well with windows explore, but not Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.
  • Upcoming games with Windows 7 will not work on Presario SR1020NX. Upgrade Advisor said that W7 would work with the exception of the Aero

Hardware acceleration disabled or not supported by the video card driver"games will not work. A check says last drivers are installed.  Tried to reinstall WXP in separeat partition to see if would work like that but will not because most recent W7.

I suggest that you use XP personally gave a computer which is so old.

If you have a computer with XP (3 + years) and have not changed at least two of these things (CPU, RAM, video card), you should probably stick with XP. Not worth the headache of praying that things work with a material more old which probably is no longer supported on the new OS.
Usually, people that the computer was shipped with Vista 1, 2 or less it several years ago can be upgraded to 7 without too much trouble if it was a mid-range machine.

In addition, it seems that Windows is not recognizing your graphics card. It looks like (http://www99.shopping.com/xPO-Hewlett-Packard-SR1020NX-CEL2-8-512-80-COM-XPH) you have an Intel Extreme graphics card. However, nothing about it is extreme. Since it is an extreme Intel card I guess Windows Update should find the drivers for you, but it is not then maybe the video card is just too outdated for 7? I'm not sure.

Moreover, I wouldn't worry much about the lack of updates for XP right now. If ever you encounter more money then get the new computer with 7 on it, but at this time I suggest you stay on XP if your hardware and software actually works and that is more important than a few features of 7.

    Hello

Your question I know that some of these methods is not available now, however, all
Convenience store is included just in case where win you some access as you try to solve the problem.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
    field efforts.
