S12 - Nvidia - update the BIOS, Hyper Threading option

Hello, any chance to see BIOS to enable - disable the Hyper Threading, s12 ion, other functional improvement options?

Even on the possible s9 off HT in the bios...

BIOS is the only way to enable or disable hyper threading.but do not hesitate to try this.

  • Portege R700 - cannot update the BIOS

    Hello
I recently bought a Portege R700 19 M and I downloaded the latest BIOS version available in the Toshiba support page and when I run the .exe file, it does not work with this message: "the computer is not supported.
And when I look in the HWSetup Toshiba tool, it does not display the BIOS version but some weird characters (letters not usual) so I can't find out which version is installed.
    Thank you for your help

    Hey Buddy,

You update the BIOS to the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba?
Are you logged on as administrator when you try the update?

To be honest I doubt a problem to update the BIOS because I found other threads where users report that BIOS update was successful.

  • Problems after updating the BIOS on Satellite Pro P200

I recently buy a Satellite Pro P200 running Windows Vista Business. Yesterday, I updated the BIOS to the version 1.50 supplied with the machine to 1.80 available on the Toshiba site. I double checked that I was using BIOS correct update for the Pro P200 Satellitel running Vista.

After updating the BIOS, I have now two problems:

    1. whenever I start and join the office, I get an error message "record of Vista has stopped working". This problem has been identified as toshibavistaregistration.exe here: [link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=99805]

2 Control Panel > system now shows the processor and the memory (RAM) as "not available". Execution of the diagnostic PC Toshoba tool and looking at basic information show also no information on the memory (RAM) Although the processor information here. There may be pieces others missing too under the eyes of list shorter than before the update of the BIOS.

Basically, I want to get everything working again as it should, but cannot find any information on these issues.

After further review, it appears that the update of the BIOS is not the cause of the problems.

Immediately after updating the BIOS, I had a major system crash. It turns out that this is what has caused problems.

After a system restore to a point before the update of the BIOS and the major system crash, now everything is working again with BIOS version 1.8 in place.

  • Update the BIOS Tecra M11 - 11L: to get power on display on two screens?

Y at - it a BIOS update that lets me select "BOTH" as an option for the power on the screen?
Currently, it lists only internal and automatic selection.

Automatic selection outputs only to the external screen if it is connected.
I need set the default output on both screens.

Older Toshibas to this. In fact, all other Toshiba I used has this feature.
Like a laptop rental/presentation/Conference, this is an important feature.

And Yes, I've updated the BIOS with the latest version.

    Thank you

    Ben

    > Self-select out only on the external screen if it is connected.
    > I need set the default output on both screens.

No, it doesn't have this BIOS update that would add this option.

  • Satellite L450-188 - how to disable ACPI.sys and update the BIOS?

Hi, hoping someone can help me with a slight problem, I'll have

    I recently bought a Satellite L450-188 (number PSLY0E-03K019EN) running under Windows 7 64-bit

I use the laptop with a DJ program called Rane Serato Scratch Live, I got latency usb problems, getting usb dropouts when I try to use the program on the smallest audio buffer position (which I expect to be able to do)

When I contacted support at Serato team with my problem, they suggested that I run a program to check the time DPC on my laptop, when I presented the report to them, they said ACPI.sys was the origin of the problem and suggested that interest me to turn it off, but I wasn't too comfortable with that.

The other suggestion was to try to find updates the bios for my laptop, but I'm not too set up with that sort of thing, and I'm worried I might damage the laptop maybe installing the wrong thing.

Can someone give me advice on this topic, because I don't know what to do

    Thank you
    Jim

    Hi jimbob_1,

Normally the ACPI means Advanced Configuration and Power Interface and control options for energy savings.
So if something is wrong with the ACPI.sys file I recommend reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.
By the way: are you running pre-installed Windows version or another?

As Akuma writes that you can download the BIOS update from Toshiba Web site. http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/ > support & downloads > download drivers

Your laptop belongs to the series of PSLY0E, so you can download latest BIOS.

Before you begin the BIOS update, close all running programs and extract all the files from zip archive. You start the update as an administrator and connect the AC adapter. Also, make sure that the battery is fully charged.

    Hello

Looks like you want to update the Bios back-base. You can download windows-based BIOS:

    http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/7228/78420804.jpg

Note, updating of the Bios, close all running programs running, including antivirus, disconnect from the Internet. However, if the system works well. should not touch.

  • I updated the BIOS on my dx2250, now NLTDR is missing

I updated the BIOS on HP Compaq dx2250 my wife and then received "NLTDR is missing" press CTR, ALT, delete.  The machine has XP Professional as the operating system.

I used the Windows configuration Option 'R' for copy NLTDR and NTdetect.com by HP help site.  It did not work.  I ran the disk supplied with the machine to see it finds errors and everything was fine.

    Thanks for the reply!

I went on another avenue.  Seemed like everything was in good shape as I run diagnostics, might start with a Windows disk in the optical drive.  I felt that most target rich environment was the BIOS, which was the most recent change.  Saw a post somewhere else, which suggests that the new BIOS on his machine was not to find the Windows directory.

I went into the Setup program, changed around such as the BIOS startup sequence and Windows were aligned.  It works now and I cycled many times I took off to try to expedite the departure upward.  Enough for one day, my wife can use his computer and on another slow start Saturday, I will hunt down updates the driver, programs etc.

    Thanks again

  • Satellite A100 - 803 (PSAANE) - Trouble updating the BIOS in Vista

    Hello

I tried to update the BIOS on my laptop today. After the installation of the new BIOS, restarted the pc and then it showed a black screen with white display text material in the machine.

In the end, it says something about a corrupt CMOS. She said press F1 to default or F2 for Setup.

    I pressed F1.

The thing is that I don't know if it worked. I used a program to display the bios version and it seems up to date, but the CMOS thing me freaked out.

I met all of the planned maneuvers (AC adapter / CC plugged etc.) except in startup mode. I assumed that the boot mode is currently in the standard vista desktop.

    * What is this thing of startup mode? * It's driving me crazy. I searched the forums, google and nothing. How can I get the computer to "boot mode and not recovery mode" as the tutorial says.

I intend to reinstall the BIOS as soon as I know how to enter in the boot mode.

I think that this announcement has already answered in this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=122727#122727

You're talking about the traditional BIOS update, but the fact is that on the Toshiba driver page you will find ONLY the base BIOS update windows.
All new BIOS updates are versions of WIN and can be updated only running a Windows operating system.

In the BIOS, the package should be unzipped everything first, and then an .exe file must be run.

    That s all ;)

  • Satellite A210 - 16G (PSAELE) - how to use 4 GB and update the BIOS?

Hello! I hope someone can answer a few questions for me.

First of all is: How can I turn on my laptop to use all the 4 GB of RAM? OS is Win Vista Ultimate 32-bit with Service Pack 2. Now Vista all show the 4 GB of RAM, but don't use it. I activated the EAP in Vista, but still nothing. As I saw, I need to turn it on too memory remapping in BIOS but there is no option (my BIOS is ver.1.70).

The second question relates to the BIOS. Because my version is 1.70 and there are more recent version 2.00; I get benefits if I update to BIOS? Someone has updated to version 2.00? And there are more options in the BIOS after update to version 2.00 (for example the memory remapping or a similar option)?
I'm a little afraid to update BIOS, because sometimes my Toshiba freezes, and I would not hang during the update of the BIOS.

And the final question is there any changelog to the BIOS? So I can see what is added and changed, and what's new in the new version of the BIOS. Because I could not find anywhere.

Thanks for the responses to come.

    Hello!

    (1) you can use the entire 4 GB of RAM on a 32 bit OS. It is a due limitation of 32-bit technology. Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 may recognize the full 4 GB of RAM but not use it, more than 3.2 g.
Here you can find more information about this limitation:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

    (2) about BIOS updated I can tell only must be made only if you have problems with the laptop. A BIOS update should never be done just for fun, because it of still a little risky. In the worst case, you can destroy the ROM module or complete motherboard.
Update the BIOS doesn't normally contain new features or options. It s bug just setting. In addition it can t solve the problem with 4 GB of RAM and Vista 32 bit if you think that ;)
If your laptop does not have 100% stable you shouldn't t update because it s too risky. Before the update, you should try to solve the problem of gel.

    (3) If a change log is available you can find it on the Toshiba site. If you can t find, there isn t available.
    That s all about this.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A-C50-K9K - after updating the BIOS, cooling fan is very loud

Gas station proposed to update the BIOS. 1.00 to 1.30. After updating the cooling system is 90% of the time. Load the default settings BIOS do not change.

No backup of the BIOS. Is it possible to download BIOS 1.00 or solve this problem?

The downgrade of the BIOS is not possible because you n t have the first version of BIOS and even if you get the 1.0 version of BIOS, the BIOS update procedure is not possible because the newer version is already flashed.

But I recommend you set the method in Windows to optimize power or better management the cooling battery life

+ Control Panel--> Power Options--> change the parameters of plan--> change power avancΘs--> TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings--> cooling method.

  • Satellite M30 - user not allowed to update the BIOS

I have a Satellite M30 (204, according to me, model 60 GB 1.6 GHz) and I try to update the BIOS but get the error message the "the user is not allowed to update the bios. The reason why I'm trying to update it is I just bought a 250 GB hard drive, but the BIOS does recognize that 128 GB and I guess the most up-to-date BIOS will allow the drives of this size, although I have not found any documentation for precise to say so be it.

Someone at - it a patch to update the BIOS (I don't think I have a usb floppy drive drive anywhere) or to access the full capacity in other ways? Thank you.

    Ainsworth

    Hello

could you please tell me what operating system you´re to help? I guess that Windows Xp...

Usually, the update of the BIOS routine has absolutely NOTHING to do with the capacity of your hard disk drive. You are working with a limited user account? If not, I suggest right clicking on the BIOS update file and choose the option "Run as..". Subsequently a windows pop up and you ask under which user you want to run this program. Click on the "Next user" radio button and choose the administrator. If you have a password for your admin account and then type in, otherwise it should start automatically.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P100: After updating the BIOS 3.8 I can't access MCE pressing enter

    Hello!

I was able to enter XP MCE by pressing the Enter key when the Welcome screen. Now I cannot and must click on the photo of the small image. Is it because of 3.8 BIOS that I put in place recently or not? Can I do this option still works? Thank you very much.

    Hello

I put t know if you can restore this option but you should access the BIOS and try to define again the default settings t.
Don t forget to save the settings if you exit BIOS ;)

But I really don't understand why you have updated the BIOS. If the laptop is running without any problems a BIOS update is not necessary!
Therefore, never change a system up and running, you know? ;)

Besides as I know the P100 were not delivered with Microsoft XP MCE but with XP Home and Express Media Player or Vista

  • Satellite L505 - update the BIOS didn't

Indicated by the TEMPRO software that came with my laptop L505 (1.5 months) I've updated the BIOS version but to halfway the process order and fan running at high speed and nothing more. After an hour, the only option that had left me was to unplug the power and remove the battery. The laptop does not now anthing and refuses to start. I guess that the BIOS should be reset.

Who can advise me what to do?

    Thank you

    Hello

Oh, that s not good news, Buddy :(

I think you have only the possibility at the moment and it's authorized service provider. Technicians may try to reflash the ROM module but if all goes well it s not completely destroyed now.

If you n t know where is the nearest ASP you can search on the Toshiba site for them. Call them and they will tell you what to do now.

    Good luck! :)
