S2240Ms + AMD Radeon R9 270 XPS (8700), Configuration cable

I want to connect two monitors to my dell xps 8700 special issue.  I don't know what cable buy and adapter to use ports

* Monitor Dell model?  Dell 2 S2240M 21.5 "

* What specific model of computer, desktop/laptop?  Desktop Dell 8700, special edition
* What operating system? 8.1 Windows 64-bit
* Which video card? AMD Radeon HD R9 270 2 GB of GDDR5 memory
* Which ports are available for the video card? looks like two dvi ports, but they are slightly different in the search
* Which video output from the video card port video on the port monitor do you use?  Currently I use the top port dvi + dvi-> vga converter to connect a monitor.  It works well
* What cable are you using to set the video card to the monitor?  That's what I'm trying to understand, what s that I should buy.
* You use the Dell supplied cable?  I plan to buy one in the store

I went to Fry and bought two cables DVI - D to DVI - D single link.  Given that the video card has two DVI connectors, I just connected a cable to each connector and the other end to the monitors and voila, it worked.

My PC had a screen black/reboot during the ten days about problem. My son, who plays games on it, believes that the video card above is at the origin of the problem. There was a recent series of Windows included 10 updates a driver for this hardware, but after several attempts (including RESETS of Windows with a picture CD 10) installation via the update or directly from March 28 AMD download, the furthest I get is a black screen after trying to install the driver software. I did it with Windows Defender disabled. I tried Mode safe mode with and without networking, but the Crimson AMD software will not run here. I used the utility from dismantling of AMD as well.

The problem earlier, before I start all the diagnostics, was a reboot loop.

Having said all that, at a time given, I ran the HP BIOS utility that scans everything for chess... guess what, video memory FAILED:

    ID 0LM8HS-00082V-QFFV7F-Q2WM03 failure

Is this an indication that the card is toast, or that the pilot and the chipset is just missing/messed up?

Another symptom is a weird game of vertical strips on some graphic characteristics.

So I guess my question is, where I go from here to get the PC up?

    Thank you

  • 3 monitors on XPS 8700 with AMD Radeon HD 270 R9

    Hello world

Just a quick question. Can I conduct 3 monitors to a XPS 8700 with the AMD Radeon HD R9 270 card?

I read somewhere that it supports Eyefinity, and in the marketing of the images I see 3 ports on the video card. an hdmi and a DVI and a VGA. Eyefinity normally uses an active displayport adapter. You don't know everything just not if I'll be able to use all 3 ports to control monitors. Or maybe use 2 ports from the dedicated card and the onboard port.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Steve

I've never tested, but in theory, it should work.

  • AMD Radeon x 270 r9 + first CS6 support

I want to akcellerate first with my gpu (asus radeon r9 270 x) but within the parameters of the project I have this

    Snímka.PNG

    How to choose my gpu?

Simple. Premiere Pro CS6 (Windows) does not support OpenCL GPU Acceleration (or if this support is in the program code, it is disabled internally). Premiere Pro CS6 supports only the Protocol of Nvidia CUDA for GPU acceleration.

And based on tests of Bill, the R9 280 X with OpenCL high-end activated in first Pro CC is currently slower than GeForce GTX 750 it with active CUDA. If on the other hand Adobe makes available the GPU Nvidia OpenCL GPU acceleration (currently the OpenCL is disabled internally with a GPU Nvidia installed, only CUDA available), the R9 270 X would be clearly faster than almost all GPU Nvidia OpenCL turned on two cards.

  • U2414H, XPS 8700, Confusion

    Hello

Could you Chris or any other subject matter expert help me please?

I received my dell xps 8700 and u2414h monitor a few days back, but not yet able to use them again because of connectivity issues. Very frustrating!

I spent an hour on the phone to support technical today, but they don't seem to grasp the problem.

The pc comes on shelf with this graphics card:

    NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 750TI 2 GB DDR5

Am I right in thinking this means that I cannot use the connection port on the actual video card and not the DP/HDMI ports on the pc itself? That is to say the mini DP DP cable supplied is of no use. (if so, it's basic instructions that must accompany surely the pc and the monitor!)

Support centre said they would send me a hdmi converter regardless, but then reminded a few hours later to say that they were not able to send me one of them, but he could send me a vga / dvi adapter. I don't know that I have this to connect?

The graphics card seems to have two dvi connectors and a micro HDMI.

The solution mentioned by other users seems to be hdmi connection hdmi (or micro hdmi in my case), but I've read elsewhere that the hdmi connections can cause other problems to monitor here, including issues of color.

Can someone give me a definitive answer on the connectors to use, and if I'm likely to have subsequent problems with colors etc (I do graphics work, so the colors are very important to me)

Thank you very much in advance for any help, anyone is able to offer.

    Kind regards

    Nick

The cable provided in the box monitor has nothing to do with the computer that you order. They come from different places. They are not bound together somehow.

The U2414H of the factory comes with the following cables =.
    Power cable
    JHF6D mDP to DP cable
    Cable USB 3.0 P57VD

The U2414H has the following ports =.
    DP
    CDM
    HDMI
    HDMI

The technical sales page tab shows clearly.

XPS 8700 Nvidia GeForce GTX750Ti video card has the following ports =.
    DVI - I
    DVI - D
    Mini HDMI

    * Go to the sales page
    Find the video card section
    * Click on "help me choose".
    * Click on "compare video cards.
    * Scroll down to the maximum resolution
    * From there you could have checked all video cards and chose one with DP on

Because a discrete video card was added to the XPS 8700, you cannot use any onboard senior XPS 8700 ports. You must use the ports on the discrete video card. So in your case, you will need to purchase either:

    Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable

    HDMI DVI cable

If you really want DP video card to monitor the CDM, you must return the video card from Nvidia GeForce GTX750Ti credit 8MXMJ and buying a video card XPS 8700 out DP has =
    TC2P0 Nvidia GeForce GTX745 M302N, 4GB, DVI-I/DP/HDMI
    FPDH3 Nvidia GeForce GTX660 D15P2-40 V2, 1.5 GB, DVI-I/DVI-D/DP/HDMI
    9168: Nvidia GeForce GTX645
    9KYFK AMD Radeon R9 270 RD14D-P1-70, 2GB, DVI-I/DVI-D/DP/HDMI
    WNMHJ AMD Radeon HD8870, 2 GB, DVI-I/CDM/mDP/HDMI

  • New Dell XPS 8700 overheating and shutdown itself

I bought my new XPS 8700 4 days there and that's the first problem, my pc is overheating and I don't know why, I have it on my desk so no dust can damage as it have enough space around fans.

The problem is that the pc is overheating even when I do nothing, its just to put on a few sites and after some while pc crashes: the screen goes all black. The last time it happened I had the only song on YouTube and I was typing on Facebook, when suddenly the screen goes black and pc closed down, ive checked CPUID HWMonitor where I discovered that my graphics card is approximately 70-85 ° C.

Second crash is almost the same as the first, but with this difference that the pc remains powered on and just monitor the message "entering power saving mode" and can not be awake so I have to hold the start for 10 sec button to restart my PC. Im a little scared because I am sure that it will not be caused by any software just because the computer is 4 days old and I has not yet opened the case (im not sure if I can just because of the warranty)... What should I do? It is necessary to call Dell technical support or I can solve it it somehow better?

    My PC specs:

    Intel Core i7 4770 Haswell, 16 GB RAM, AMD Radeon R9 270 2 GB, SSD 32 GB + drive HARD 2000 GB 7.2 k, 8.1 Windows Pro 64 - bit

    Sorry to hear that!

If it is only a few days old, contact Dell Tech Support as soon as POSSIBLE. In the United States, you have 21 days from the date of billing (no delivery date) to request a replacement. Then contact them immediately if you want to have it replaced. Otherwise, arrange for Dell fix this one, if all goes well in your premises...

BTW: Open the case do not void the warranty.  But if you replace all of the equipment installed at the factory, Dell may ask you to reinstall the original parts, before they honor the warranty.

I hope that get you it fixed quickly!

  • XPS 8700 faster?

OK so I xps8700 and want to make it faster, I like speed. Some say go with card PCIe SSD x 4

Some say mSATA is just as fast and you can start of one or the other.  Price is not a factor

EDIT: ignore the PCIe x 4 comments. It seems that the 8700 crack that resembles a PCIe x 4 is not working at full speed.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3513/t/19536759

    / EDIT

the 8700 has no crack m2, so a m2 SSD ascended in a x 4 Adapter PCI to m2 will be the fastest interface.

On the m2 SSD Samsung seems to be on top with the XP941, but plextor and samsung have been mutually one-upping in this field and Plexstor announced the M7e which should albums the samsung as soon as it is available.

I'm not sure I've seen a XPS 8700 configured with a PCIe SSD as boot drive. It might work, or you may need to use an mSATA or SATA III SSD for the boot drive,

Then, slide into a PSU expansion and put to update the graphics card for a GTX 980 and you'll probably spent more than the cost of the system on the upgrades, and who will take the 8700 about as much as you can.

You must also download intel UERX and overclock the memory slightly. with the tension of memory limited to 1.5V on the card mother dell, it is difficult to increase the frequency of the memory and keep stability. Instead you can squeeze latency and that helps a little. Here are my attempts as well as some synthetic test results. Real-world tests did not much difference.

  • XPS 8700 and Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 OC graphics card

I saw a thread on here stating that the AMD Radeon 7870 was compatible with the XPS 8500, so I guess that the overclockee of this card Sapphire version would work in my XPS 8700.  I inserted the card into my computer and connected the two power connectors 6 pins.  When I rebooted the computer, he made five beeps short and then put under tension (without the Dell splash screen, I think).  Restart again (and hear the same five beeps), I pressed F2 to enter the BIOS, but it wouldn't let me get into the BIOS.  The third time that I restarted, I just let it start and then after about half an hour of use, the computer is frozen on a blue screen (not BSOD). I turned off the unit and do not have reverse.

I chatted with a few guys from Dell, which said that the five beeps meant that it was a problem of compatibility of video card, but he could not say more than that and pushed to me to contact Dell sales to buy a compatible card (no thanks).

Anyone can check that the five beeps are told?  I hate to have to return this card to where I bought it and I'm not sure I can.  I get beeps if there is a driver problem that I'm missing?  Or beeps always mean a hardware problem? I'd get a beep if my diet was too weak?  Other thoughts?  Someone at - it no good they know maps work on the 8700 XPS?

There was many problems reported with some video cards and the XPS compatibility 8300, 8500, and now the 8700.

Make sure that you uninstall the drivers for video cards before you remove them and put in a new card.  Make sure that the power supply is disconnected and you have pressed and held the power button for at least 15 seconds.  You can also try to remove the CMOS battery.  Then install new video card, replace the battery and plug it back the power cord.

In addition, connect the monitor to the integrated graphics card and restart.  Press F12 or F8 to access the Start Menu. Under the Start Menu, there should be a 'Change Boot Mode Setting' setting. This parameter will have the possibility to turn UEFI Secure Boot on or Off, change it to Off.  It is a common problem in Windows 8 that occurs when you try to add another video card due to conflict with Secure Boot and new motherboards UEFI where you post or get the beep codes.

  • Dell XPS 8500 with 1 GB AMD Radeon HD 7570 - how to connect two monitors or?

Hi, I got my Dell XPS 8500 today with the 1 GB AMD Radeon HD 7570.

Before buying the office, I read online that the AMD Radeon HD 7570 supports Eyefinity.   Eyefinity is supposed to be capable of supporting 4 monitors using the HD 7570 map by the description here: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7570/Pages/radeon-7570.aspx#2

When you look at the photos of the Dell XPS 8500 online I thought that Eyefinity support was to use a display in addition to the DVI port Port.   Specifically, I thought that a monitor has been supported by DVI monitors while 4 thru two supported using an active connection to the view port using a product like the DisplayPort Accell UltraAV K087B-005 / 3 x multi-monitor DVI - D single-link adapter.

To my surprise the graphics card came with an HDMI port, not a display port and I believe that HDMI port is a connection from one to the other, and not one of many display connection.   Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong on this point.   But if I'm not wrong then, this would imply that, at most, the Dell XPS 8500 with the AMD Radeon HD card 7570 can support up to only 2 monitors (one DVI port) and the other HDMI port instead of 4 monitors as described on the above link.

Others would agree with this statement?

Note that the Dell XPS 8500 also has a VGA connector on it but I tested it using a monitor on VGA and a monitor on the DVI connection and the computer that reported as an invalid monitor config.   Probably because the VGA and DVI connections are originally the same video display as connect two monitors to display even has no logical sense.

I have not tested the HDMI port for the second monitor again mainly because I don't have a spare HDMI cable on site at the present time.   I'll probably buy one tomorrow unless I see the comments of my post, specifying that a second monitor can be moved through the HDMI port on the AMD Radeon HD 7570 map...   I'd be surprised if that were the case (1 monitor system would be quite restrictive), but it is difficult to say with certainty, because the VGA and DVI connections at the same time have been marked by the computer as an invalid configuration...

Any thoughts on the different ways to configure multiple monitors with the XPS 8500 and the 1 GB AMD Radeon HD 7500 is appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Doug

If the card is not a display port is not an eyefinity card and cannot stand 3 monitors... it will be 2 monitors, no problem... I couldn't find anywhere on the site of Dell, where he says that the card was eyefinity... If you want 3 assumption of monitors you can buy a video card that supports.

  • XPS 8700 + Radeon 5770 does not

Just got a XPS 8700 and decided to put my gcard of my old system in because it is more powerful.  Radeon 5770, when I put it in I get nothing.  The monitor does not display anything.  I put back it in my old system, and everything works fine.  Is the 8700 XPS somehow simply not compatible with the card Radeon 5770?

Any suggestions on a map of decent price I want to consider?  If the XPS 8700 for some reason any cannot support any powerful graphics card I can just return.  Very strange that the card doesn't seem to work.

Did you disable UEFI and secure boot?

  • XPS 8700 - NVIDIA GetForce GT 635-1

8700 XPS I'm considering buying has the "NVIDIA GetForce GT 635-1' installed.  I use the system for purposes with two screens and a lot of commercial cards. (no game).

Is this graphics card to the height or do I consider that I consider more expensive configurations of XPS with AMD radeon HD R9 270 or higher specs Nvidia cards. ? .

    I would appreciate any advice.

The GT 635 suits very well for what you will do.

  • XPS 8700 GPU upgrade

My PC is the 8700 XPS, described in my GIS unit. Non-SE.

Double boots both Windows 7 Pro and 8, secure boot disabled.

Current GPU is the AMD Radeon 7570 (OEM) that comes with it. I see this same pattern can also run the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 645 (OEM). It's basically a quick replacement? Obviously, the PSU is OK, as the POWER 460 block is the same in all models.

Will be one of the 6 pins that is not in use, it will take if yes, is it important that we? I noticed that they are numbered differently, probably just to label a connection. I found them hidden behind the other sons.

Finally, if everything is compatible, should I use the current Dell supplied drivers for the stability of the system (all the installed drivers are provided Dell), or I let NVIDIA auto detect & install?

This has been a great PC for me, the XPS 8700 packs a lot of power in a mid-size Tower. Just, I want better video & don't want to deal with swaps of power supply, which could void my warranty.

Thank you very much for any help given.

Unfortunately, you will need to move to a GTX 660 to get a display port.  I'd go with the HD 7770 HERE that is actually better than the GTX 650 for about the same cost.

  • AMD Radeon 6450 with two DVI monitors

just bought a new HP Pavilion p7qe with a graphics AMD Radeon 6450.  How 2 DVI monitors? I tried a digital dual link DVI, of no separator. I ordered a multi hub adapter, DP DVI 3 screen... who do not work.  Help!

    Hello

The Radeon 6450 on your PC has three ports; DVI, HDMI, and VGA according to the configurator.  Please check this information.

You can use a DVI cable to HDMI. www.pccables.com you can think of an adapter (DVI-HDMI).  I do not recommend adapters because they add more points of failure.

The problem is I want to play a game, it is named as League Of Legends, but it does that on my Intel graphics card, it's not going on my AMD Radeon HD M 8670 probably because my fps on the game is as 02 on low graphics. I play SWTOR with 25 mb internet and can't play on the spot. Just try to solve the problem of graphics agitated with the AMD Radeon HD 7450 card provided with the desktop HP p7 1245. Wouldn't be better to go with a configuration Crossfire or more powerful card like the diamond AMD Radeon HD 6990 or higher?

Your system won't "Crossfire", "Hybrid Crossfire" or 'Dual AMD graphics card'... whatever you want to call. Only, the system has a PCIe x 16 location and uses Intel GMA on board. Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p7-1245. According to specifications, your system has a 300 Watt power supply. To install anything but a low range graphics card, you'll need to replace the power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommended and favorite forum.
