S5610y: S5610y computer desktop Slimline won't start
I turned off the computer, and I tried to turn it back on after a few hours. It will not start. I pressed and pressed the power button for a few long seconds and tried again. No luck. The output is very good, and therefore the power cable. I noticed that there is a green light on the back of the power supply, and when I press the power button to turn on the computer, the green light turns off. It turns out if I remove the cable at the back of the power supply and reconnected, but disappears again when I press the power button to start the computer.
This can be a symptom of a bad diet? Thanks in advance for the answers.
Hi there @Uncle_Zia
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand you have problems, turn on/off your computer. I'm happy to help you.
In response to your question, it certainly could be a power supply problem, or possibly a component internal. I would recommend that you look at the following page: desktop HP - troubleshooting the power supply problems

s3710t computer desktop slimline HD and RAM upgrade
I bought desktop s3710t with Vists BONE several years ago and it works very well with no error message.
I did not have the large files that would come in the future I am looking to upgrade my HD. The specifications on the HP.com site lists the 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA 3 G (3.0 Gb/s) as the max I could have ordered.
- Who is in fact a limit or simply everything what has been proposed when I bought the computer?
- I am considering a 3.5 inches 1 or 1.5 TB 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache drive. Is there a reason any that this drive does not work? i.e. 3 Gbit/s faster and with 64 MB of Cache?
I also bought the option/3 GB RAM that is configured as (1 x 2 GB, 1 x 1 GB) DDR2 PC2-6400.
- If I replace the key 1 GB with a 2 GB key will there be a reasonable increase in performance?
- Is the 4 GB limit or could I go on to say 8 GB? Which will bring a significant improvement?
I use the computer mainly for word processing, e-mail and photo retouching.
Please see cannot restore the PC after replacing the hard drive with a disk (Windows 7 and Vista) AF for general information about problems using discs of HP recovery with a disc of AF.
Please see Advanced identification of a hard drive to Format to aid in the identification of a hard drive of the AF (Advanced Format).
Sorry, but there are too many discs on the market to recommend an and since 2010, most hard drives have been AF readers.

About 2 months ago or not, I've updated my desktop iMac computer 2011 at El Capitan (running 10.11.1). Everything has been works fine until this afternoon when I sat in for use. I remember leaving the computer on when I went to work last night and didn't touch when I got home this morning. When I tried to turn it on, nothing - no fans spinning, no boot screen, nothing. I unplugged the computer and held the power button for about 20 seconds, but nothing happened. Does not even plug and unplugginh both ends of the power cord and have switched plugs. Does anyone know how to fix this?
If you do not have any audio or video on what means its are not getting any power, check what is obvious, and if not then it is likely a supply failure.

Two monitors with computer desktop Slimline?
Hello
I want to set up two monitors with my HP Slimline. Is this possible? I know I have to change the graphics card to accommodate two cords.
Slimline s5310f
64 bit
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
LG E2360V LED monitor
Hello
You have options:
1. install a video card that supports two monitors. -> the best performance option
2. use a video USB adapter/converter. -> What are your needs of video connection? VGA, DVI orHDMI
3. use a USB attachable monitor such as this AOC 16 "monitor.
Option #1.
Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply. These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.

My laptop is a Presario F700 l PC, Vista operating system.
We live in Italy and service broadband and wireless local apartment acquired last week. We also bought and installed a Canon printer. This computer was used in Italy before. It was purchased in 2008 and also used in Manila and Yokohama. I just had 'set to top' and checked before leaving the United States in September.
I do not have the complete operating manual and I know what a yellow light on the front does mean something but I have no idea what. The computer has been acting 'strange' for about a week in which he wont 'stay' at the top of a list of e-mail, the Office does not 'click', and it activates a different screen of the selected.
IM technologically dim and this computer is my only link with "House" and my source of planning in Italy-travel. " Im trying not to panic. Thanks for your suggestions.
Thank you very much for this - it's reassuring to know the resource and quick response is there. I had already tried a solution I found online fixed 1/2 of my questions, but feel sure that these steps will finish my dose. Thank you very much.

Computer won't start; 3 long beeps, the fan turns
Hello
I have a desktop HP equipped of Windows Vista that does not start correctly. When I turn it on it looks like it is starting, I hear the fan, the computer will beep 3 times in a row (I would say long beeps) then stops and beeps 3 times in a row again. Then nothing on the monitor, fan always running. If I didn't get anything I think that the computer and the monitor's energy-saving.
Before I turn it on the screen says no signal so I think the screen itself works. I don't quite see the HP splash screen. Pressing F8 during startup seems to do nothing.
I created Vista backup discs (food?), but I don't think they are bootable. Some back story: a few weeks ago, I tried to download Windows Live. After installing the updates, I could never Live DL and the next day I got the blue screen of death. I rebooted, you press F8 repeatedly and Windows started normally. Although it worked fine for a few days I felt nervous that I did a restore of the system around October 31. Everything seems to be ok for over a week but now I have this problem. I thought to upgrade to Windows 7, but do not know what to do at this point. I've never opened a tour - answers Google talk out of ram or certain types of error of keyboard Bios (3270 keyboard card).
Help, please! Sorry to be so long. :-)

Satellite P200 - 17 c - Vista won't start up - how replace/repair boot.ini
Hello
I have a Toshiba P200 - 17 c of the vista computer and it won't start, freezes on the splash screen. I have
used iso image to boot from and ran repair disk, makes no difference.
Machine will not get beyond microsoft loading page (with yellowish scroll bar).My question is: How can I replace / repair the boot.ini file to get the machine to start or disable all applications / drivers for applications in order to get the machine to start.
I have not (my fault) create a back up or restore disk.
After booting the machine from cd, system repair running and try to run the system restore doesn't work...Can anyone advise on a way to replace/repair boot.ini or turn off the drivers?
Try to avoid to pay another £30 pounds for a recovery disc that I already paid for the licensed software, don't know why.
If you pay because you do not get a copy of Vista with machine...Anyway any help would be most appreciated.

Hello
> How to replace / repair the boot.ini file to get the machine to start or disable all applications / drivers for applications in order to get the machine to start.
I doubt that this could be done under Vista cannot modify the boot.ini as on Win XP OS.
To edit the boot.ini file you must use the BCDEDIT command.
However, I put t think it would start the Vista correctly.In my opinion you have two options;
You can use the safe mode and might attempt to start the Vista slim or you have to reinstall the entire operating system yet.
But I doubt you'll be able to start in safe mode if the system repair and system restore didn't work too.So in my opinion the last real solution could be the new facility.

Choose the following memory Upgrade for eMachines computer eMachines T5026.I am running Windows XP SP3 with RAM sticks of 256 MB (2) on an old eMachines T5026 desk top. I added strips of RAM 1.0 GB (2) for the two slots open and computer would not start. I tried with stick (1) 1 G and (2) 1 sticks and it still won't start. I tried to mix and match the 256 with 1 G in each combimation, but it does not start. Won't start with one or two sticks of 256. Best Buy had PC3200 DDR RAM but the spec above States use PC2700. Geek Squad says that PC3200 is OK instead of PC2700. Is this the problem or I had to do something besides just insert new RAM? Suggestions welcome. Thank you.
Thank you for confirming that. I still think that the above tips are relevant:
Because what you bought doesn't work, my suggestion is to stay within the plug (PC2700), like this: -

If my printer USB cable is connected, my computer won't start?
If the printer is on and the USB port connected. The computer won't start. If I turn on the laptop with the USB plugged in and as it starts and then turn on the printer, everything works fine. Almost ok. I think I should be able to leave the printer on all the time as I do at work. Then when I start the computer, the printer is ready. Every other printer I've ever had worked this way. Any suggestions?
Maybe the printer looks like a hard drive (some printers have card readers that make them look like a disk) and the computer attempts to boot from the USB drive instead of the hard drive? It would be a modification of the settings in the BIOS
