SA40-702 satellite: startup messages

Hello

Until recently, I experienced no problem with my satellite SA40-702. However, while starting I started getting the following messages, which appear before the Windows XP best wishes...

PXE - E61
Media Test Failure - Check the cable of

PXE - M0F
Exit Intel Boot Agent

While no obvious problems occur while using the machine, its obvious that these messages should not be appearing. Someone had no previous experience of these message?

Any help/advice gratefully received.

Concerning

Peter.

Hi Peter,.

The PXE - E61 message ususally indicates the laptop tries to start from a LAN attached rather than the hard drive or the CD source.

First check the boot order in the BIOS (press and hold F12 for the market) and make sure that your boot order has your hard drive as first or second device in the list before the connection to the local network.

If it is already defined in this way, then it is likely that your hard drive is corrupt because the system can't find the boot sector (or can't read).

I presume that you can boot from the CD (since you say that you tried to reinstall XP. Did you use the recovery discs for your laptop or a Microsoft XP disk?

Kind regards

  • SA40-702. Does not start, missing file...

    Hello
I have a series SA40-702 Satellite. I had the laptop for about 18 months and until recently had no problems with it.
While on the Internet one day, the laptop has decided to lock up & then close on me, I'm sure that, it displays a message on the execution of a physical memory dump, anyway it closes I started in safemode, performed an analysis of drive & off frag & all appeared to be well again for about a week. He then decided to do it again, but this time he wont even go into safe mode. It displays a message - Impossible start because the following file is missing or corrupt " \Windows\System\vgaoem.fon ."
I really don't want to have to do a full recovery on this because I have a lot of important information about the hard drive I need.

Can someone tell me if its possible to load this file back to laptop...?

Thanks in advance, & apologies if it's a bit lengthy...

  • SA40 has no startup options and does not load Windows

    Hello everyone

I just met my first problems with my SA40-702. I got it about 2 years and everything was fine.

The machine will not start is no longer in Windows. He's sitting there for hours with the screen of boot of windows XP, the bar of scroll nothing happens. I tried to access the CD/DVD drive to reinstall windows, but I can't boot from it!

I have had so much try 'C' nothing happens.

    I tried "F12" nothing happens.

I tried several copies of windows and the boot disks, but there is no success.

I was in the BIOS and removed the password so it now reads "unregistered" I am unable to change the menu boot options. All that I can change it is time and the password.

Any help on changing the options of startup, or as to why the machine will not let me choose the CD as boot device would be appreciated.

Infact I can't choose ANY boot device.

As far as windows goes all start attempts including safe mode etc do not work. They just plant rather then wait eternally for restart.

    I hope someone can help!

    Thank you
    Richard

    Hello Richard

Usually, if the supervisor password is set, you can have this kind of problems and you will not be able to enter the BIOS settings. I put t really know if someone put the supervisor password and this way I can't help you.

You are the owner of this device or using it in your business?

    Hello

Google who provides virtually no information that suggests it might be the malicious program or a start remains for her entry search

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.

  • Satellite C650 - message from the PXE ROM at startup

My 6 month old Satellite C650 (Windows 7 64-bit) started grippements this afternoon and now will not restart. She gave the following message is displayed after the Toshiba screen:

PXE - MOF: EXIT INTEL PXE ROM
    NO BOOT DEVICE

I think that there is a "insert the disk and press a key" after that, but I'm away from home and have not all disks (not sure if there are home either!). So I tried a few off/ons and now does not go as far as the Toshiba screen.

    At a loss - nightmare!

Obviously HDD is not recognized correctly, but the question is why.
It's new model of laptop, and you should contact Toshiba service as soon as possible.

    Hi guys,.

laptop was dropped and I now get the blue screen with this message at startup "stop: 0x000000ed unmountable boot volume.
I read in some sites 'recover using xp disk', my laptop was bought with xp was preinstalled and I don't have a recovery disk.

    (1) can anyone identify the problem?
    (2) a recovery disk help?
    (3) if so where can I get one?

    Thank you

    Jim

    Hello

I agree with Guybrush. The error seems to be related to the boot file system is defective and new resettlement could help.

As we have already mentioned, the Toshiba Recovery CD could be controlled using the adresse_web above.
If you are owner of an old series of laptop then the recovery CD could be ordered in the local ASP.

But generally, you can use a Microsoft operating system CD too.
You could install windows using this CD and all Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

  • L50 - B - creation of recovery - satellite error message

    Hello

It's my first visit so I don't know if my son was treated, for this, my apologies.

For several days, I am in possession of the laptop L50 - B Satellite. For security, I want to do a recovery media on a USB key with the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator program. After a while, I get a message that there is a difference between the path of the source in Z:\Recovery\install25.swm files and destination path E:\ZZImages\install25.swm,errorcode 02016E-3 c-00000000.
    Is there a solution?

    Thank you

As far as I know that there is a sort of magic bullet. Either it works or not. Some kind of change is not possible.

Try again please and let us know if the same error recurs.

  • Satellite A100 - message: Toshiba Power Saver already started

When I turn on with power supply connected, I get a false error message that says 'Toshiba Power Saver already begun'.
How can I get rid of this message permanently?

    Hello

I guess that the Toshiba power saver trying to load twice.
    Akuma s suggestion should work.
Once the energy saver has been uninstalled, all entries that control energy saver should be removed too.
After this, reinstall the new energy saver

The alternative might be disables a power saver in msconfig.
To ensure that the access the msconfig (in RUN type msconfig) and remove the mark of an energy intake that you might find in the Startup tab.
Then restart the laptop and check if it worked

  • Satellite M40: message: can not play because the DVD decoder is not installed

not serious... I am back... I did a little reading and tried to read another cd in the drive and the message came to say "can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed, so I guess that's the problem because I have a recovery * DVD *.» Anyone know where I can find a dvd for a Satellite M40 decoder?

    > can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed
This message appears if you want to play DVD movies with an application like Windows Media Player that has no (plug-in) installed DVD decoder.
Usually the DVD can be played with special programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD for example!

But this DVD decoder has nothing to do with the Toshiba Recovery DVD and the fact your new DVD Player cannot read the recovery DVDs.

I have a Satellite C660 laptop and when I recently turned it on I got this message... HARD drive has a clever feature on failures to predict, check the drive.

I did a HARD drive recovery but still getting the same message.
Do I have to buy a new HARD drive and if so where is the best place to buy a.

    I live in regional WA.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello

This looks to drive HARD going wrong and in this case the Get procedure isn't a real solution.
I think you need to replace the HARD drive in order to solve this problem.

The laptop supports version 2.5 SATA HDD and I think you should find some good deals online in your area.

By the way: after replacing HARD drive, you should be able to recover the laptop using the recovery disk.

  • hot to turn off Java after the startup message

    Hello world

I know it's a bit old, but I couldn't find an answer to it, or maybe I searched the wrong topic. After the reboot, I still get this warning window saying "to use the"java"command line tool, you need to install a JDK.
I ElCapitan and recommended Java installed since Mavericks version, but the message never goes away. The used warning window is displayed only after restart, but now he appears randomly during normal use of the laptop.

Please help me to get rid of

You have software that requires the Java command line tool? It is only in the JDK you will find Oracle's Web site.

Check your/Library/LauchAgents and /LibraryLaunchDaemons for startup like facebook or similar items. Also, check your user settings (users & groups) under your Log - In for Autostart-software items after the connection.

It is the diagnostic screen that you get, disable boot in the bios then go to the Startup tab and look for the boot if Mode so-called [diagnosis], then replace it with [fast] and then go to restart exit save changes that must disable the diagnostic boot and you should get only thinkpad splash screen and then start windows

Sounds more like a hardware malfunction as software delivers what dilute you?
To me, it seems that the graphics chip would cause this issue may be due to a higher internal temperature? ?:|
