SA540 end of life

Hello

I tried to give a sense of end of life policy and notifications for the SA540 unit. The "last day of support: HW" is on 30 April 2016. This means that updates of firmware to address security issues will be available until this date, or firmware update have already been arrested?

Thanks in advance,

Richard.

Whatever the EOS/EOL announcement, IMO the EOL practice has already taken place. Just look at when the last firmware update was published (December 2012) and then think about what happened in the area of security since then. For example all SSL/TLE-problems in recent years.

It is time to replace these units.

  • I support a very large school district running Firefox 3.6. What will happen at the end of life date? In the online environment, we test this week.

I run the test center for a very large school district with over 120 students of k. We have a current deployed at base of 54 client machines of k using Firefox 3.6. We have not upgraded for many reasons, of which the most important is to remove the possibility of use in navigation private students and dealing with plugin-updates for the digital non-born (read dumber than a bag of hammers users) that make up the majority of the customer base.

We test ESR now, but only discovered this end of life for 3.6 is tomorrow, 4/24. We are currently in the middle of the scale of the State of online tests. The question is, what will happen tomorrow, when the browser will end of life. ESR wiki mentions that "an update to the current version of Firefox Desktop will be available through the Update Service Application"

So the main question is, are my students/teachers goes to get a popup telling them that they have updated the browser if we have already turned off updates? If so, can I I disable remote using SCCM, because there will be all sorts of havoc.

Please advise as soon as possible and thank you in advance.

An addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-private-browsing-pl/ can help, or http://kb.mozillazine.org/User:Dickvl / Private_Browsing_disable (don't forget, this is beyond what this forum can help you with if you need help making these changes).

There was no official word from Mozilla on a date for end of life for the Firefox 3 version? I support Firefox 3 and 11 in a corporate environment and would like to know if we need begin to gradually eliminate version 3.

  • Windows 2000 end of life July

We have a server with Windows 2000, i.e. at the end of life to July 2010 and therefore no support available after July.

Because of the dependence of the applications that are running on this server we are not able to upgrade the operating system until October 2010.

I would like to know if it is a replacement option where we support October 2010?

  • XP end of life Date announced

I am fully aware of the April 8th date of end of LIFE.  However, I need to know when Microsoft made the official announcement on the EOL for XP.  I can't find anything online, nor Microsoft Help Desk could provide me with all the dates.

I work for a company of POS and I have clients asking me these questions.  If possible, a link to that date would be perfect!

    Thank you!

  • Will be - this safe to use XP behind a firewall after the end of LIFE?

I have a netbook that I use as an external 1 TB NAS with a hard drive device on my LAN.  I use it also for connection of MagicJack.  I have a firewall in my router and the only thing that that accesses this machine online is updated antivirus and places / receives calls from Magic Jack.  I don't respect the minimum specifications for Windows 7.

If I keep this machine behind the firewall and prevent web access, it will be safe to stay with XP after the end of life?  MagicJack is a security breach?  My only other option is to switch to a Linux distribution, but I need to configure to run on a Windows network and it seems that you have to do back flips to get the MagicJack to work on Linux.
    Any advice will be appreciated.

End of the security updates is something much more...

antivirus support, but again, you are not protected completely...
  • End of life programs remove the D drive which is the system restore partition

I am running Win Vista Home addition.  I downloaded and installed PowerPoint Viewer 2007.  Now, when I scan with Secunia I get a message that I have an end of life program, 2003 PPV, in my D drive system restore file.  How can I remove an obsolete program from drive D?

Sorry, but it does not work.  Drive D is partition of the hard disk system restore.  I tried everything to get there, and that cannot be done.

It may be worth mentioning that I ran a Windows search for files and folders looking for power pint Viewer 2003.  I've included the D drive in the search.  I got a recovery that the file is not found.

I finally opted for another suggestion and Secunia to ignore this file.  Now, everything seems to be okay.

Thanks for the suggestions which are appreciated regardless of the outcome.

  • WinDVD Gold 5, end of life

I ran a Secunia scan today and my WinDVD Gold 5.0.11.1268, which is preinstalled on my A61e has been classified as a CAT4 (highest level of danger) security risk.  This is because it is listed as a product of end of life and should be upgraded to a later version (I think might be acceptable, v9).

I scanned the posts here on the series A and M for a solution... no reference to the A61e.  I saw a post that said an upgrade did not Support and downloads for ThinkCentre A61, but my model systems (6418) was not.

Dear gurus: if I download the upgrade of WinDVD 9 of Lenovo to the A61 would it nuke my A61E?  Looking for guidance here because I would like to conclude this security exposure. If there is a version for the A61E, please please send me a link. Note: I do not understand that the site of Corel offers V9 at a price, but as that program upgrades are available for other models of the A61, why would mine excluded?  TNX.

I plan on upgrading Vista to Windows 7 this weekend. I understand that WinDVD 5.0.11.1268 may not work under W7.  There is no indication that I should uninstall it before the update... so I won't.

Yesterday I went to the Support and downloads for the A61E (6418) and found that there no upgrades for this product available, whereas it is available for several other Lenovo systems.  WinDVD came preloaded on the A61E and I registered it with Intervideo in 2007, however, Corel has developed its website to ignore Intervideo registration information.

I searched Lenovo S & D on WinDVD and came across a WinDVD5 to WinDVD8 for upgrading systems to Windows 7. I downloaded it. The A61E was not as supported a system.  I don't know if it works or not and I close this post because I'm ticked.  This my my solution.

  • End of life for PS6000XV & PS6500E

When PS6000XV & PS6500E reach the end of life?  Thank you

End support PS6000XV is seven years after the date of billing.   The end of the date of sale for the PS6000 was Nov 18,2011, making 2018 the last possible date taken in charge, assuming that you bought Nov 2011.

End support PS6500E is 5 years after the date of billing.   Since the replacement has not yet been made public, there is no released to end of sale date.

    Kind regards

  • End of life dates.

    Hello group,

Y at - it a portal where I could enter a part number to return the date of end of LIFE?

    Thank you very much.

As far as I know, no. You must read the appropriate product page and their end of LIFE announcement, if published.

But ask yourself in the wrong forum (see the description for more details), and I'm no expert on the subject. I'll pass your question to the community, I would like to fit better this kind of question. Hopefully someone more qualified will answer you.

  • Cisco ASA 5500 Series end of life

    Hello

I noticed that all 5500 series (5510,5520,5540,5550,5580) ASAs are all end-of-life announced in March 2013. However, I don't see ASA 5505 on the list. Can anyone confirm that 5505 EOL has not announced?

    Thanks in advance

The 5505 is not yet announced EOS/EOL, but the announcement can * t be extreme as 5506-X will be available soon (well, I hope... ;-)).
