Safari more than consuming 100% CPU

I am currently working with Safari 9.1.1 and whenever it is open it consumes 100% CPU and causes fans on my 13-inch MacBook Air to the race. For example, while describing the problem in Safari with only this tab open my CPU is 102.3% (33.2 MB memory). Besides the closure of the only open tab CPU usage remains high until I have completely quit the application. If I open the same page in another browser, the CPU of the other browser usage is much lower. Any ideas as to what is the cause and how it can be fixed will be very appreciated.

A simple reset of the SMC should solve this problem. Please read this article to know how to do this in your device:

  • Oracle to consume 100% CPU

    Hello

I'm under Oracle XE 10g on Centos 5.5. Most of the time that my database performs very well but sometimes (usually in 2-3 days), it becomes very slow. When I run 'top' on linux it shows me that the Oracle processes consumes 100% CPU.
Can anyone suggest me please how to start to find the reason? I have doubts that some report done this but I don't know which. The application was overturned has more than 150 reports so it is difficult to find who is this? Also the processor does not become free, until I bounce the database (I tried to wait another 24 hours). In my opinion, if a report is by doing this, the processor must become free when the report is finished. I have very little knowledge about DBA.

Download statspack running on your database. The next time, the CPU hits 100%, you will be able to find the best CPU consuming queries (as appropriate).

  • distnoted consume 100% cpu

Every now and then my mbp will be completely insensitive because of a process called "distnoted" consume 100% cpu on a period of time.

Why is this happening? Is this a virus? I have 16 GB of RAM + SSD - surely that should be record high enough to run OSX 10.11?

The good news is that this is not a virus. This process was created by Apple and runs along the side to provide iTunes supported mobile devices. I would just try and force them to leave the application. http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/distnoted-exe-process-running-background-safe/

  • Upgrade to Win 8.1 the fan runs all the time and Raw (Silkypix) converter consume 100% CPU resources

Hi, after upgrading to win 8 to 8.1 win my converter (Silkypix) raw program running extremely slow and consuming 100% of CPU. VAIO all updates completed, all Win 8.1 updates made. ATM Radeon HD 7500 M / 7600M (Maj) with 2 GB RAM dedicated.

In addition, the fan works almost all the time that was not the case with Win 8.

Vaio SVE1712Z1EB with 8 GB of RAM, i7 processor execution.

SeanQ, after some time looking for a solution I finally found it on one of the vaio sites forum: it is the Radeon driver that must be installed from the Vaio support site. NOT the driver the latest AMD site. It does not solve the problem.

I did as follows: device, graphics card, Uninstall Manager. Did not help. Went to AMD in Program files. Setup.exe has begun, but instead of installation, clicked on uninstall. In this way, I uninstalled the driver former AMD and bad news from the site of AMD. I had to manually uninstall the driver in Device Manager, several times. Finally, I went to the site of Vaio and tried updating the driver. He failed. Reset. Manually start the update of the Vaio AMD driver. Finally it worked.

The fan is now more or less normal speed.

Overall, I spent 15 hours looking for this solution. How much is my time worth? Just joking, I'm happy that I found the solution.

  • First Pro CS5 never uses more than 15% of CPU, so perform much more slowly than first 6.5!

    Hello.

I make videos of marriage for a while. My material included map DV500DVD and first 6.5 CPU Core 2 Duo E8400, 2 GB of RAM, Windows XP SP1 (DV500 does not work with SP2 or SP3).

The above system is quite old and absolutely not usable for HD videos. So, I decided to build another machine. The configuration is the following:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

    M/b: Asus LGA 1155, H67 chipset.

    CPU: Intel Core i7 - 2600K

    RAM: 4 GB DDR3

HARD drive: 2 x 64 GB SSD, 2 TB SATA (RAID) 4 x (all drives connected to separate the controller PCI-E chipset fault intel isn't a problem here)

I recently downloaded and installed the first Pro CS5 trial version, to see how he adapts to my needs. And I'm very disappointed. I started the first, chosen preset widescreen DV, inserted two static images on the timeline and made a mix alpha between them. Then put movie export. Not only it took too long to make, but it only used a nucleus, and the CPU usage is only 15%. Just out of curiosity, I installed first 6.5 on the same system, and he did this task about 10 times faster!

That is, limitation of the trial version, or just first Pro CS5 cannot be used with this modern processor?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

I can understand your experience... After I installed Windows 7 and CS5 Production Premium, adding another 8 Gig of Ram for my PC, dying on the fact that my Nvidia Quadro FX 4600 is not able to use the reading mercury and literally hours of waiting for spending returns, on a hunch, and after reading about someone else who did the same thing.  Finally, I took my old PP CS3 and installed on alongside first CS5. To my surprise, with 64-bit OS, CS3 running and makes exactly the same content about 4 times faster, does not idiosyncratic seizures slow when moving clips in the timeline, no white on the error screen "not responding" messages, etc.etc. I have no problem with After Effects or Photoshop CS5, they work fine, but first CS5 is close not functional as it gets. A: 30 minutes with some effects of magic bullet, even native capture HDV format takes about 10 minutes with PPCS3... and about 45 minutes with CS5. CS3 also reads smoother and barely stutters, so that I have to sit and to return with CS5 because of choking in order to continue working. One post suggested that I don't have enough gas in the machine, dual core AMD Opterons 3.2 GHZ, disks, 16 Gig ram working 7200 and 10 000 rpm... but cannot see how CS5 can maybe make CS3 on the same stage. What I'm missing here? I'm not whining just baffled.

  • Windows XP system using more than 50% of the CPU

    Hello

Recently, my windows XP works very slowly, with system interruptions take up more than 50% of CPU, most of the time. I've updated all the drivers yesterday, the problem disappeared for a few hours then reappeared again.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Start your machine in a "Clean boot" State and see if you still have your problem (I bet you won't):

If the problem goes away in the clean boot state, then use MSConfig to find out which program or service is causing the problem:

There is a lot of trial and error, but finally you have to narrow down the cause of your problem.

  • Installation of Windows 7 support no more than 2vcpus

    Hello world

I have problems installing Windows 7 build vsphere 4 (208167) (experimental). There only support 2 vcpus, when I set up 3 or 4 vcpu the OS recognize them in the controller devices, but not in the Task Manager.

    Someone know why?

    Thank you

Thanks for the replies, I saw a windows7 with processor i7 with 8 cores installed (1 quad with ht processor) but I guess that's possible because that is a physical installation.

You are confusing CORE with POWER outlet.  By putting a BONE in a machine virtual you basically add Sockets.  The virtual machine cannot see the underlying CORES inside those casings and assume they are just a CPU core.

so when you add more than 2 virtual CPU virtual machine you add SOCKET.  Windows 7 CAN see multi CORE, but these kernels are inside a SLEEVE, no separate CPU.

While Windows 7 can only support SOCKET 2, that's all.  Everything you put into the socket, 4 core, core 6 8 hearts... whatever... Windows can see its main, but there is still only 2 limitation of DECISION-MAKING.

  • My CPU usage is at 100%, but the task manager says that nothing is more than using 01%

Last night, I installed the updates for Windows 7 during the stop, as I normally do. He said there are four updates, and one went by pretty quickly. It seemed to get stuck on the second (even though he probably didn't want to - the blue ORB turned and the dots are moving, so I guess it's to large or slow) for a few minutes, three update took slightly less time and at the time he obtained for the release of four, I was paying attention just because I was so tired.

In any case, I went to start my laptop (Toshiba Satellite) and on black splash screen "starting windows" with the flag/banner, he said that he needed install/configure 360 some odd updates. I had seen this before, although I do not remember how recently, so I thought nothing of it. I still don't know if it meant something significant.

Now the problem is that my CPU usage is constantly at 100%, yet when I finally managed to open the Task Manager, NONE of the listed processes use anything more than 1%, and those who fluctuate. I can easily boot into safe mode, and from there, I have disabled the start of the process, such as taskbar support and itunes things google related, but I still boot normally to 100%.

Any ideas? It would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm going to College next year and I really don't want to worry about finding how to get a new machine.

    Thank you!

    Hi Renae92,

    1. You have security software installed on the computer?
    2. High CPU usage occurs after the boot process?

    Method 1

As the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then I suggest you run the troubleshooter of performance and check if it helps.

  • "Stop IMAQ" takes 10 sec to run and consumes 100% of CPU

Hi, I'm calling IMAQ stop to put an end to an acquisition, but it consumes 100% of my CPU and takes 10 sec to complete (all your 100% CPU).  In our application, we have start and stop the device regularly, and that's exactly when the user wants the program is interactive, if this delay of 10 seconds is great irritation to them.

My setup is - camera scan online Dalsa Piranha, RT 9 running on a desktop PC (it is compatible according to the test), PCI-1429 cameralink map.

    Any help or comments welcome.

    Thank you.

Ah, I managed to solve it, but first, here are the answers to your questions:

With the help of Stop and then close or simply close makes no difference.  The judgment takes so long that I just used a probe before and after on the cluster of error and with function of probe of 2009 timestamp I could easily see how long it took.  For a more detailed analysis of the time I use the United States available with RT timer

Anyway, the way I solved the problem was ensuring that I stop acquisition BEFORE the clock of the camera line is stopped.  So stop IMAQ probably wait for the end of the current frame before returning - and if the clock of the line stops at Midway through a framework (as was the case), a timeout of 10 seconds causes probably Stop back later.

The clock of the line is powered by an acquisition of data (via RTSI) card and I simply closed the session to this counter after calling IMAQ stop.  Data acquisition interface is not displayed in the example above, as it is coded in an another vi.

    Thanks for all the help.

  • Svchost.exe consumes 90-100% cpu memory

When I start my computer there are 5-6 processes svchost.exe and none of them use 90% above the memory of the cpu. There is that one, IE, idle system process that uses more than 90% cpu. But when I turn off my net by right clicking on the icon in the status bar notification area and select Disable, after a while, one of the svchost.exe process begins to consume more than 90% cpu. Also its members use is superior to 40 000 K and my computer responds very slowly.

Also as soon as I finish this process my computer responds normally.
Also when I shut down my computer shows blue scree an additional message «closing network connections...» ', this isn't usually comes.
    Please help me...
    Thank you

Are you now a statement is not a problem.

    1. the amount of memory in the "working set" of a process (10 000 K = 10 MB) should not be a problem for most systems.  Even an old computer running XP probably has at least 512 MB of RAM installed.

2 PIDs are specific to your system.  Reports that a process has 912 PID doesn't mean anything to anyone else.  The svchost.exe instance you mention hosts most of all instances of svchost services into a Windows XP system (this is the "netsvcs" of services group), is not at all surprising that he needs more memory.

Buried in this long list of services is wuauserv, which is the Windows Update automatic update service.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if this is the service that used a lot of cycles CPU when you shut down your Internet connection.

If you 'end process' for this instance of svchost, most of the things that will stop working are related to the network, which may be important to you if you have disconnected your network connection.  Not all, however, are related to the network.  For example, the sound does work more (AudioSrv).

For more information, go here--> http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-xp-x86-32-bit-service-pack-3-service-configurations/ names when you run tasklist/SVC are the "service name" rather than the name, "display" then click on the header in the second column of the table in the Black Viper to sort by service name.  You can click on the "display name" of the any services to learn more on this subject.
