This problem has only started recently.
Open another web page (URL) in my home page always opens in the same tab and the button "go back a page" is gray and does not work. If I open a series of web pages in the same tab, the button 'back' green is green. By clicking on "recent" pages down arrow will allow me to return back, but only to the page after the home page.
In other words, having travelled, I can return to the opening page (my homepage) only by clicking on the Home icon, but not using 'recent pages' function.
Is there an option that has changed after the last update? The add-on Advisor Macfee site was at the origin of the problem, thanks for your help

I know how to set correctly in homepage. I'm an experienced user. My problem is when I start Firefox 20.0.1 it always starts two tabs. The first is the correct home page. The second is a blank tab switching to. I want only the first tab that is the home page. How to stop the second tab to open. The homepage is defined only with a URL and is correct.
Note that you enter the permanent private browsing mode if you select "never remember history".

How can I get rid of all that have hijacked my homepage in Firefox 12 and replaced by a login page "Bank of America"? I have reset my home page in Options, but it does not help. I suspect that there is an entry of thugs in my Windows Vista registry. I tried to get rid of it with several antivirus programs, including MS Security Essentials, Avast, Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes, but none removed the offending attacker. Help would be appreciated.

AVG safe Search appears when I only use Google Search on my home page.
My home page is the default page of Firefox with the Google search bar. I like occasional Firefox messages when I log so I don't want to change my homepage. However, when I use the search bar on my homepage only, I get the unsatisfactory results of AVG safe Search.
UPDATE: I realize has now all the troubleshooting information that I included in my original question is displayed under the link "Details of the system more" beside the question, not in the body of the question. I copied here to make it easier to see what I've done to try to solve the problem, but also to describe one clue that I have that may be relevant:
I tried all the fixes on different threads, but my point: config is now Virgin (no avg or isearch mentions; keyword.url is default). Closest solution for you is to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/866327 , which requires a change of my homepage.
Curiously, AVG safe Search is not a problem when I use Google or search the site of Google toolbar when I use the search bar that appears on my home page (start). This is true even when I return to my home page - if I search from the Google search bar in the middle of the page, I am sent to AVG Safe Search. (isearch.avg.com).
I read in a thread of a suggestion to delete my file chromeappsstore.sqlite in the folder of my profile. As promised, Firefox has created a new when I restarted however, the search bar in the middle of my home home page did not work at all. Tried this three times before restoring my original.
I don't have an application that opens a sqlite file, but I tried to do in Excel and found a cell containing the following text:
emoh.:moz - security aboutsearch engine {'Name': "AVG safe Search", "searchUrl" ': "http://isearch.avg.com/search?cid={7A3C25A0-E345-4507-AA31-D98F596A81A9}" & mid = c48135235ba247d18ac1d14b344db451-addd29eab2809954d5abdf0b991a5b911a297819 & ds = is015 & lang = en & v = 10.0.0.7 & pr = his = d & sap dsp = & q = _searchTerms_ "}
I have no idea what this means, but it's the only thing I can find related to Firefox which mentions again AVG and isearch.avg.com.
At this point, my best guess (but that's a guess) is that the chromeappsstore.sqlite file is a key for a complete solution, but I don't have enough knowledge to go beyond and address it. I appreciate any help anyone can offer.
I think I solved the problem. As someone who has used occasionally used Access and other database applications, I had to first find a free app that would allow me to change chromeappsstore.sqlite. Then, I needed instructions on how change. I found the answers to these two questions to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/779082 . Thank you Dr. Watson; awaits my needs 10 months ago!
I don't think I'd be able to formulate my questions clearly enough to find the solution without posting here first.
For the people who try this solution do not know databases: make sure that you save a copy of the chromeappsstore.sqlite before trying this fix. You cannot save a copy under a different name of the sqlitebrowser application (or at least, I couldn't find a function "save under").

I can't open Firefox. Home page comes up, I get just the reporter Crash asking me to restart/quit but every time I do the same message always comes back. I was not able to use Firefox for days now.
In recent days, we have a lot of crashes with Trusteer report. If you have this program, try to disable it and see if that stops the noise.
You can stop the report by using the Start Menu > programs > Trusteer report > report stop
You can ask their helpdesk when a version update of their products will be available or, if you do not need this software, uninstall.
http://www.Trusteer.com/support/en/report-problemIf you do not report, so we have a crash report ID. When you send a report of the Mozilla crash puts it right in a gigantic database. We have no way to seek without the ID of the report. I don't know what the problem is without searching the crash report. Please get the ID of your last report of the accident report.

I set as my Facebook home page, but when I quit Firefox and return, it does not save my login (e-mail address) so I have to retype it each time. It did not used to be like that. When I go on Facebook using AOL it still works.
My subscription to Norton has been recently updated and this problem seems to coincide with that. Is there a link?

According to the title of your question, you can not open the collection of Microsoft solitaire on your computer. The question could be if some security software is limiting to open. It could also be if there is a corruption in the application. If you get a black screen during game play then it could also be due to drivers. So try to follow the steps below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

I always get requests to update on my office home page. After the most recent, most of my quick start icons are badges of adobe. Except a few functions are not open. When I right click on Firefox (for example) it says 'READ' rather than 'OPEN' and then displays the Adobe error box. The only other answer I received (from Ask.com) is that the update was a virus. I'm not computor savy and my pc is quite old. I just want to come an hour before this recent action, but I can't open Norton power eraser or even the ability of the computer to return to an earlier point in time to cancel the action. Each of these attempts of task appears Adobe error box. I am currently showing Adobe Reader X 10,0
