'safeguards' eat memory

Hello community,

at first, my problem isn't the time machine or the capsule. To get more memory on the hard drive I remove music from a few gigabytes. Easy, no problems. But I have no more memory after you remove the music. Now I have less memory then before because what I deleted in the music I now in 'safeguards '. When I go on the 'Apple' key, "about this mac" and then "hard drive" I see backups 44 GB. No matter what? Before I had that. I don't know what it is and where it is and how I can clear also to get my memory on the hard drive. Just for information, I have a time capsule and use time machine, but can't see a connection. Thanks for help.

.. .on the other site, when I open utility HDD I see these "backups", listed as 'other' as you can see in the following picture. The strange here is that my mac says I have 32, 67GB available, but among them, he says I have 77, 04 GB free, until? I don't understand, please help me. I just want to know how to clear in addition to these 'backups '...

Backups Time machine Instant local created when your backup disk was not connected. Although they take place on the disk, the operating system will automatically remove because more space is necessary. So you can ignore them.

Snapshots of Time Machine

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder, and enter or paste the appropriate command line. Press ENTER and enter your administrator password when prompted. There are not displayed. Press RETURN again.

To light: sudo tmutil enablelocal

To turn off: sudo tmutil disablelocal

Note that fades OFF will also remove all existing snapshots.

  • Something that eats all my memory? (or hard disk space?)

    Hello

Someone told me that there is something in Adobe Premiere Elements, I have to turn it off because he eats memory unnecessarily.  Is this true?  If so, what do I need turn off.  All I know is that my laptop is full and I think not I that much on this subject and I have a hard drive with a capacity of 250 GB.

    Thank you.

    lithea

I just understood what your tour focused on when I came across your question first Elements 8 wireframing.

In the first Element 8.0/8.0.1, features automatic background rendering and AutoAnalzyer are large cards for the acquisition of it resources.

The Premiere Elements 8.0.1 update was supposed to take care of the auto part background made by disabling its default state.

The part AutoAnalzyer, that you had to take care of you.

    1 automatic background rendering.

Go to the workspace of Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 timeline Edit Menu/preferences/general and make sure that there is no check box next to the

option on the bottom of rendering.

(If you have not download and install the 8.0.1 update, please do so.) See the help/update Menu. If this does not work, then use the 8.0.1 download

Adobe Adobe - Premiere Elements: For Windows: Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0.1 update

Once installed, it will not be "8.0.1" view.

    2 AutoAnalzyer

  • Memory usage of Firefox flies away and crashes despite Reset etc.

I use Windows Vista and recently, after he tried to update Java and Adobe plugins for Firefox browser last shot every time I use Firefox any open what really but especially if a video is open the memory usage keeps climbing and does not stop. Firefox crashes almost everytime. I tried the Reset, I tried to turn off and so on several plugins and others, and nothing has changed, but that the memory usage can climb higher and avoid crashing anymore. The fundamental problem of the memory usage crazy not stopped nor slowed down.

It starts at an average use 200 k to 300 k, which was normal, except if he had run for hours or playback of videos for hours could go up to 800 k. For now, thirty minute walk with no video and four tabs is 1 300, 000 k. I don't know what does. I'll try to uninstall adobe and then use an earlier version but I have done so many things at this point, I'm curious to know who else has this problem. I have not tested the safemode, but despite everything I need a lot of these add-ons to what I use my browser for. I do not understand why the use of memory keeps climbing even when I do nothing. I run a system scan for virus etc, nothing. I know that I have an older video, its pilots updated card and I tried to turn on the option acceleration on and out also. Why Firefox would continue eating memory?

The crash of the reports I receive look like this:
    BP-7cf4e751-66dB-49fc-8a05-083132130814
    BP-b680d967-eee5-44a7-a5e0-c1f422130814
    BP-5b457653-8B58-4ee0-80cc-32fe82130814
    BP-304b8b40-d4e5-4F36-AF10-de58e2130814

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Three of the four crash reports indicate a correlation with the Ghostery extension. The precise cause seems to be indeterminate. Can you make an exception for the video sites and see that allows, or try turning it off for 24 hours?

  • leak memory in vista64 sp2? __

I noticed recently that the overall consumption of the memory of my office has increased dramatically.  I am running Vista 64 Home premium SP2 on a Dell Inspiron with a Q8200 with 4 Gig of ram.

I don't know what has caused this maybe a recent update by one of the programs installed or updated MSFT.  I have several logons to this computer and run 2 of them at the same time.  They all have two race of Outlook and IE8.  After a fresh reboot, I see that approximately 40 to 45% of the memory is used however after some time (in hours) it will up to 70-75%.  I know that Java and Adobe have been updated in the not so recent past.  Any ideas on how I can find to eat memory?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, 900M is very high in terms of memory. The process "SearchIndexer.exe" makes reference to Windows Indexing tool. Try diabling to see if she will not solve the problem:

Step 1: Disable indexing in General:

    1. go to my computer (in the Start Menu).

    2. right click on the first hard disk, you see (it should be labeled 'C:') and select 'properties '.

    3. on the "Général" tab, uncheck "Index this drive for a quick search" at the bottom.

    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each of the other drives installed on your PC (their names must be "D:", "E:", "F:", etc.).

Step 2: Turn off any personal or other Index locations:

    1. go into the control panel (in the Start Menu).

    2. open "Indexing Options".

    3. at the bottom, click on 'change... '. ».

    4. in the window that opens, there will be a button named "show all locations". That and click 'Allow' to safety messages.

5 uncheck all listed locations. This should essentially disable the indexer.

    This should fix the problem

  • Storage of media file in the memory of the phone blackBerry Smartphones

I'm puzzled. The assumption that the memory of the smartphone (I have an a BB 8310) would store media files for example tunes, or at least some of them, but every time I try and drag a file from the Media Manager in the memory of the device, according to me, a message appears saying that there is not enough disk space. I only just bought the article, so I don't see how this could be possible. Is this a fault on my phone or they can be stored in a multimedia card (which I don't have yet)? Can someone help me with this, sorry I'm not a complete technophobe, it's just that NOWHERE in all the advice I have read it say NOTHING clear on this subject.

If you want to transfer multimedia files to the device, it is recommended that you purchase a microSD for storage of media. According to me, there is a limit of 2.86 MB file size when you transfer media files to the main memory of the device. Also, when you start to store multimedia files in main memory of the device, it eats memory, which can cause problems like the logs of calls and messages deleted to save space.

  • Smart memory leak of Plugin

    Hello

I'm writing just my first plugin smart - so far, I just write regular plugins. My first test was pretty simple, he just had a single slider ranging from 0 to 1 and filled it all out with black, white or gray the appropriate hue.

However after the cursor to scrub back and forth several times all locked up. Task Manager to open (which took some effort) has shown that AE had eaten all of my memory. Running in the debugger, I found thatcalling filling consumed approximately 8 MB of memory, and then between the return of my AE chip make event and the call to free my AE pre_render_data had consumed on an another 8 MB of memory. Each cursor movement resulted in an another 15 MB or more be consumed and with breakpoints deleted making slowly slide from one end to the other consumed a few hundred MB.

Then, I changed my plugin so that it completely ignores both made smart and smart prerender events. He has literally done nothing but return PF_Err_NONE. Always AE accumulated memory use. I still get 10 or 15 MB of memory leaks for each render event.

Have you ever seen this type of behavior before? Is there something I need to make a smart plugin that I did not need to do before that could cause this problem? If necessary, I can post my sample code. I use Visual Studio on Windows 8.1 with AE CC 2012.

    Phil

It turns out that this is correct behavior. There is no bug. It's just the AE cached results.

I downloaded the SDK of 2014 AE CC and built the plugin Smarty Pants here. I still see the same behavior. AE eats memory that I move the cursor backwards and forwards. However if I go to Edition-> Purge-> memory usage then falls to about 200 MB. By increasing the allocation of memory for other applications under Edit-> preferences-> memory & multiprocessing, I can limit the memory usage to an amount that avoids crashing the debugger.

  • Is Lightroom 4 a Devourer of memory?

One of my colleagues at work keeps insisting that Lightroom 4 is a Devourer of memory and slows everything and insists I've got close while he was working on Photoshop. It seems to me that Photoshop needs more power horse and is a hit parade on the performance of the processor and memory. Anyone can provide information about this so I can go to the boss and give specific information.

Lightroom is very greedy in CPU, the faster and more better carrots. But I've never seen consume more than about 4 GB of RAM (same great export runs files D800). Yes No. hogs memory.

Photoshop is the exact opposite. Not too high demands on the CPU, but it eats memory, up to the limit of allowance you set in preferences (after which he gets swapped to disk).

One thing about Photoshop is that it has no shared memory when you close a file. It is reused, and this is normal (it would be much slower in the opposite case). People sometimes confuse this leak memory, which is not. But he sometimes makes life difficult for other applications that are open at the same time.

  • Digital certificates and runaway trustd

Just improved El Capitan (10.11), Sierra (10.12). Updated the o/s, kept my applications and data on both a beginning 2011 MacBook Pro and an iMac end of 2013.

First question mentioned was that Outlook for Mac 2016 hung on the iMac, if I tried to open a digitally signed message (DoD PKI-signed). Had to force quit.

Next issue noted was that Keychain Access hung when I tried to start it. No window of Keychain Access, never not published, if the icon showed in the dock. Open Activity Monitor to investigate and found that the process trustd seems to have run away. The memory of the process was beyond 1 GB. Forced quit Keychain Access, then sent a HUP signal to my trustd process via the terminal. Once he showed up, process trustd memory reached 11.9 MB.

Trying to reopen the Keychain Access, but it hung again. I let it go for a while, and Sierra informed me that he had become insensitive (thanks!). Killed, then looked at the allocation of memory of trustd. It was close to 2 GB.

I upgraded the Macbook Pro at the same time (won't do again). Soon after the connection, I noticed that the fan spun. When he didn't slow down after a bit, I open Activity Monitor and saw that trustd process memory beyond 8 GB. (The total physical memory on the Macbook is 8 GB).

On the iMac and Macbook, I created the new keyrings connection to get rid of all personal digital certificates.

It helped on the iMac. I work in the old Keychain, so I do not have access to the certificates. If I do, Keychain Access crashes and trustd fled. I can return to normal by sending a HUP and stop smoking-force Keychain Access. In addition, Outlook crashes and trustd fled if I touch a digitally signed message. Again, I can go back to normal in force - quit Outlook and sending a HUP to trustd.

The set of connection fees did not help on the laptop. trustd to save, eat memory in the process. I could reset by sending a HUP, after which she would free up the memory, but then he save again. From scratch (erase the hard drive, install Sierra) solves the problem of runaway trustd. I did not restore the Keyring containing digital certificates.

Is this a problem with trustd? I need personal digital certificates to work on at least one of the computers.

I also have problems with a runaway trustd, although slightly different triggers.  I'm trying to synchronize my mailboxes from several of my servers.  It downloads a few hundred saved messages, then trustd goes into overdrive, the fan is used, and the computer works nothing except trustd.

  • What is com.apple.ImageConversionService?

I was plagued by a slow horribly embarrassing iMac since I bought this one in 2013. Recently, I started using it more and noticed how unbearably slow, it really is. When starting it is slow, opening any program is slow, and when I ran the com.apple.ImageConversionService activity monitor is always at the top of the CPU usage. What is c? That is always running and eating memory for? Search Google left me with many other forums full of questions but no answers. Help!

  • Can I disable the Tcrdmain.exe in msconfig - Toshiba Flash cards

I do not use the Toshiba Flash cards - I find them just a nuisance, so I kept of appearing them at the top of the screen. However, I note + + tcrdmain.exe is still running and eating memory. Is it safe to disable in msconfig?

    (I'm under Vista Business)

Why should t be is safe? ;)
You can set if something will go wrong.

    You can try it.
Disable this background process in msconfig one then boot the machine again.
After this short intervention, you can check in the Task Manager if the Tcrdmain.exe was disabled and that the laptop runs without problem.

    Concerning

  • To use or not to use: while loop?

Being relatively new to LabVIEW and excited by the event programming Structure makes me think that a While loop should almost never be used.

A While loop uses "polling" to see if a condition is fulfilled or not before you stop the execution, which eats memory. (No pun intended) while event Structures

don't constantly gobble up CPU memory and waiting for something to happen, and then runs.

Can someone give me a simple and good example of when it is appropriate to use a While loop? Do not hesitate to talk about certain situations more complicated, requiring a While loop

which cannot really be addressed with the programming of the Structure of the event.

While loops and structures of the event go hand in hand. You almost always want to place the structure of the event within a while loop. If you do not you will serve a single event. The while loop will allow you to repair all the events. It is important to note that when there is no event loop will not be doing anything. He will be inactive and essentially no time consume CPU. The structure of the event will have to wait for the next event.
