Samsung and Dell monitor questions

Hello:
I had a given PC new and works fine, but when I hooked up with monitor with Samsung, a floating message popping up in the middle of the screen... "Not optimum mode, recommended 1280 x 1024 60 Hz Mode" and the screen empties a few minutes later. When I tested with another monitor with Dell, there are no floating message and gets a good quality screen that shows the Dell monitor is compatible not compatible Samsung to PC refurbished.

Monitor Samsung was hooked with two different PC KVM switch, and no problem with them.

Is there a way for me to do the given PC replacement compatible with monitors, "Dell" and "Samsung"?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Your Samsung monitor is a type of format of 4:3 image, that's why she asked '1280 x 1024 60 Hz '.

Your video card is NOT defined for it. How to change the settings:

http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/256-screen-refresh-rate-display-settings.html

See above with the Dell connected monitor. Set it to 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz, and then connect the Samsung monitor and see what happens...

Type of form factor small PC are not the easiest machines to be upgraded, especially regarding video cards. I wouldn't go this way if I were you...

  • Black glitter and LED monitor S2440L screen

I have a new LED monitor from Dell which flickers to a black screen during market for a few seconds and then turns back on. I can't understand why this happens. It happened when my monitor has been connected to the slot built in HDMI on my motherboard. And it always happens when I connect the monitor to the HDMI slot on my new NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 of ASUS graphics card that I bought recently. My motherboard is the ASUS P8Z68 - VLX running Windows 7 with an Intel i5 processor. DELL LED monitor is S2440L. Anyone experience this state of the black screen that comes at random on the time where to watch movies or even surf the net.

    Hello

I have the same problem as you with my L-2440. The screen flickers and sometimes it's curtains blackout for a few seconds. I think this problem for this monitor is not an isolated case, because many people complained the same problem.

I have noticed before I installed driver Dell and Dell monitors management program, this problem does not exist. Admittedly, I don't use 1 hour after the introduction if theres no way to be sure about that. Anyway I uninstalled both and use the driver default Windows (generic PnP monitor) and disable DDC/DCI under 'Other settings' in the configuration, monitor and now dancing lines are for the most part disappeared (sometimes but rarely sound still there), but black still happen.

After experience, it turns out that it is related to electrical installation of the dwelling. Whenever someone support some switch in my house (On or Off), the screen will be black without fault. Im sure this model in particular have some bad Earth or something since I have never experience such problem in previous Dell monitor that I own or any other device. Try it yourself and make people put the switch in your home.

I am awaiting response to Dell too because it is the time of 2md my monitor is replaced (totally busted S2320L and cannot be turned on) and Dell replaced by 2440L as the third replacement. Anyway Im afraid it will break the monitor sooner or later and I'm inclined to return it...

Connection cable vga card screen depends on whther or not your PC is configured with a video card. It is not necessary to open the PC. Just look at the back of the PC. If there is a card, it will be in one of the slots instead of the bottom basket I/O headers (as in the picture in my previous post).

Test the display on another PC or laptop to test the display and cable. This is the method of troubleshoting simpleest. If it doesn't, then the problem is with the display or vga cable.

  • Video card GeForce GTX645 and two monitors Dell

Just place an order for a Dell XPS PC 8700 with a GeForce GTX645 video card. I'm trying to figure out how I'll be able to connect my two Dell monitors to the video card. My monitors are a Dell 2407WFP-HC 24 '' and a Dell IN2020M 20 ". I'm fairly certain that the 24 "monitor has a DVI - D connector, and I think (but I'm not sure) the 20" monitor also has DVI - D.

It appears by looking at the specs for the GeForce GTX645 there a port DVI - D and DVI - I port. If this is the case, how can I connect two monitors using DVI - D video card?

    -Larry

Yo is not an adapter to hook up 2 monitor DVI - D DVI - I and DVI - D + HDMI + [...] video card.

DVI - I mean it is a compatible port DVI - D AND you could plug an adapter DVI / VGA for use an old monitor (VGA d - Sub 15 pin)
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface
    +

DVI - I simply means that the DVI connector has some extra pins (on the right, under the direction, my mistake) with the data (if necessary)

  • Dynadock and Satellite Pro U400-135 - external monitor question

    Hello.
We have a serious problem on the 26 dynadock vga e Satellite Pro U400-135 unit

    The problem is:
If set to host as a single external monitor during startup frequent windows loses resolution external monitor.

Example of resolution monitor post seting like 1280 x 1024, start with connected dyndaock, frequent resolution 1280 x 800 not correct and external monitor image not correct.

Operating system is Vista 32 bit, driver dynadock is 2.3 update and dynadock displaylink displaylink site 4.6.16208 site.
Same problem with Windows Xp 32 bit.

How can I solve the problem?

    Hello

If I understand the first message, external monitor resolution automatically goes to 1280 x 800 even if you set it to 1280 x 1024.
I guess that your external monitor is connected to the dynadock.
    Is this good?

AFAIK, you can customize the video settings of the dynodock.
It provides a video output in two modes: Mode and extended Mode of mirror.

Mirror mode creates an identical display of your computer to the external monitor screen. In mirror Mode, the dynadock automatically selects the settings (screen resolution, color quality and discount rates) for the external monitor that will allow the best resolution based on your computer's settings.

Maybe you use the mirror mode and therefore the dynadock the resolution automatically because it of the best for the external monitor.

I recommend checking the Dynadock manual for more details.
There are two modes are described there.

    Welcome them

    3. what program do you use to see the pictures?

4 did you changes in the program before the show?

    Hi Jill,

Please note that in order to have more than 2 monitor Setup, it is essential that the video card on your laptop actually supported the possibility of having 4 monitors. Most of the high-end video cards supports the option double screen.

You can even confirm by contacting the manufacturer.

  • Windows 7 full screen games and desktop applications losing focus and stealing discussion questions

NOTE: The updates at the top of this announcement, the original message is less than.

UPDATES: here are a few updates and new information that I have gained since the original publication.

    Registry settings

After doing a lot of reading, I found some registry settings that appear to solve some of the problems I see. All three were found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER-> Panel-> Desktop

ForegroundLockTimeout: Has been reset for some reason any. I removed the key and restarted, but he is back to zero. This is why I looked at the default value of 200000 (decimal) and set it. After that, he stayed. \

I saw two other keys HungAppTimeout, WaitToKillServiceTimeout, and WaitToKillAppTimeout and all have been set to zero. I deleted these registered.

I have no idea what set these registry keys to zero, but after being put into default, I can now click on an application full screen reduced, and he returned immediately. I can still lose focus in full screen or desktop app, but not as often as before and now he is usually just badly behaved apps stealing focus rather than seemingly random events.

I wonder if there is a patch that has changed these values, or a settings option that does. From what I read, they are sometimes twisted to allow faster restart and stop servers.  I don't have a software that would be while and manually set their and none have the people I know. One of them has confirmed that their box also has these set values zero and has no idea why.

I hope this information is useful to other people with odd focus problems.

    ORIGINAL POST FOLLOWS *.

I have a problem in Windows 7, which at first I thought a number of different problems, but I am more convinced that they are all connected.

All of them started to happen around the same time - late January or February after a Windows Update - and largely the same or very similar issues affect 3 of my friends and co-workers running Vista and 7. Unfortunately my notes on the update happened while the time are missing, but all 4 of us have seen questions start at the beginning of the year in the January/February calendar, which makes it seem like they should be linked.

NOTE: There were a few minor problems before even with the update, but nothing like what happened in early 2011. I had problems to update with Vista and 7 alone, but they were rare and sometimes fixable with registry hacks or it was an offending program, something did not like Aero, etc..  The questions below got a lot worse in early 2011 so they appear together in this post.

I will describe each problem separately and the affected BONE and the symptoms, and I hope that some can make sense and help me solve the problem. Major problems first, then a few small problems and measures that I took to the to check follow after. Sorry for the long post, but it's a maddening problem affecting many people, and I want to be as complete as possible.

Games not switching and the apps full screen #1: if I'm in a game fullscreen and I go to the office, it is very difficult to go back. If I click on the taskbar icon, nothing happens. I have to click on it repeatedly, often a dozen times or more before the application full screen or game is restored. It is most often with the games. Full screen I don't want not maximized, I mean where a program takes the entire screen. Games is easier to reproduce so far have all I currently use the question and variances in how it is difficult to come back in full screen are not significant between them.

Apps full screen #2 focus lost: this happens especially to my friend running Vista, when you play the game full screen. She will play something like the Lord of the Rings Online and she loses the keyboard focus and the mouse, but the game is always full screen. Usually the only way that she can solve the problem is to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the Task Manager, which for some reason solves the problem and she can return to the game for a little while that. I run Windows 7 with another couple of friends and we can also see this question, it is much less common. Changing an old mouse seems correct for Vista for some reason any. 7 that it happens rarely, if hard to duplicate to see if changing the mouse would help. In any case, will and against a beautiful new mouse laser mouse is usually a horrible option.

Office applications #3 lose focus: it affects two of us under Vista and 7. We will be typing in chat, email, anything... and the foreground app will lose focus. What catches there that is impossible to determine. In my case, I can occasionally see a taskbar popup button and then disappear immediately, but I have never been able to track it down. Running in safe mode or boot seems to have no effect on this, or disable all services, extension and program but by default Microsoft in Windows 7 and Vista. Its almost like a Microsoft program is to do. Also, even though I mentioned the taskbar icon appears briefly from time to time, which cannot be bound: it does not always coincide with the loss of focus and is not always present when the focus is lost.

#4 desktop applications lose keyboard focus and the mouse: it's like the number #2 above, but happens at the level of the office. Unlike the #3 that the window does not lose focus, it is always in the foreground, but keyboard and mouse stop working. It is usually impossible to move to another window. Just like #2, the solution that we have so far is to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to switch to the Task Manager, which temporarily solves the problem. ALT-tab through windows does not work.

Here are other minor problems that may or may be linked, because they seemed too much to start with.

Switching away applications full screen takes more time: Windows 7 on my machine, switching off games full screen takes more time than he did in the past. It was a minor issue in autumn 2010 and became much worse early 2011.

Some windows lost focus while being re-size: if I take the corner of some windows for re - size, sometimes the re-size operation stops until I release the mouse button, as if he has lost the focus. Color of the window indicates usually focus however is still there, and grabbing the corner once again we will move me a little more. It may take several tries to get the window size as I want, as the re-size operation closes several times before I release the mouse button. This affects only 2 of the 4 people I talk so much that I can tell from our conversations and shared between Vista and 7. Both of us have Logitech mouse it might even be a driver problem, but using a mouse cheap test has not fixed the problem with me.

Firefox: Firefox repeatedly will "dim", where Aero makes the window lose color to indicate that the application is not responding. It didn't happen before January 2011 for any version of Firefox.

Concrete results to track down the problem:

I ran programs like WhatHang and others who are trying to catch the programs that are suspended, stealing focus, etc.. Hours of testing found no results except that Firefox crashes frequently. Disable Firefox doesn't solve all the issues however, so I guess that its not related.

I tried booting safe and clean, and they have had no effect. Secure boot is rather useless since I can not usually run programs that show the problem more easily. I also tried turning off everything except what comes with Windows 7, and it had no significant effect.

I tried to use a different mouse. While it helped a bit with one of my friends, it only helped me so far. Different mouse drivers do not seem to help either. I also tried various nVidia without significant information acquired or corrective drivers.

I also ran through various other ideas here as the race of the file system scanner and so on and not found any problems with my system, and where I could help my friends do and they also found nothing of note with maintenance and verification tools.

My friends and co-workers: most of them are not local to me, so my focus of their issue has been rather limited. The main thing that we all have in common is that we had some minor problems in the past, as in 2010, and they've all got a lot worse in early 2011. Unfortunately none of us kept of records accurate enough to indicate any special updates that might have caused it.

In any case, I apologize for the log message, but this issue emphasis is maddening. Its become a frustration serious then I thought to post information on the problems which seem related would be the more useful approach.

I am a graduate of comp-sci systems and a companion systems programmer, and I have tried everything I can think of to debug and isolate problems, symptoms, etc. and had no chance. My friends are usually illiterate computer so that they are even more perplexed and frustrated by this problem. In my reading the forums, I see a lot of Windows Vista and 7 discussion questions, but rarely a lot of details, and when a problem is identified, it this far does not apply to me or my friends.

I am happy to provide any other details I can.

    Updates:

I forgot to mention that I have a Setup dual monitor. Aero seems unhappy with it, a lot of flicker when switching to full screen in games and other applications. I guess its because a single display off Aero while the other has it we or maybe not accelerated. Remove the second screen does not solve the problems I see, but I mention it in the interest of further development.

I want to just chime in that I see similar (but not exactly the same) behavior and time seems to match as well. Among the updates must have messed something up. I forgot my Cardinal never update rule anything :/

In any case, I have a few specific questions all problems related to full screen/window/input. When you play the Witcher, when you look at, if the mouse touches the edge of the screen, it stops, thus giving a very narrow range of angles I can watch from. Baldurs gate, as soon as I hit any key, I can't click on anything whether (and what I typed does not appear). Looking for police 3 (dosbox) it works fine until I hit a key, and then the mouse bounces oddly around the screen. If I alt - tab, in these 2 cases to last and go back, the problem is solved until I have a button again. In the case of the Witcher, if I alt tab and click the icon to the taskbar, it seems this problem, until I have a press.

And I'm sure I had none of these problems a few months ago. I have tried everything I can think :( I tried the registry settings, but they do not seem to help.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot. Whenever I click on full screen on an online video, like youtube, it appears in the background behind other windows, and then I have to click on it in the background to bring it forward. Very weird. Not sure if it's related. I'll try to change my video drivers... So boring when everything was working fine a few months ago.

Edit 2: Do not take into account my post, I had a program called synergy race (usually use a mouse on multiple computers at the same time). Apparently, he was the problem.

  • XPS 8500 CPU connection monitor question

First of all, my apologies if the question I'm about to ask answered several times or seems stupid. I sought an answer in the database of the product and on the different for one for what I consider to be a reasonable period of time and has not found an answer. I tend to replace (high-end) computers about every 5-6 years and all replacements comes a new set of technologies to learn and understand. (I'm also more than 60 years, but please don't hold that against me-one day you will be this age too if you're lucky and try to live right)  My old Sony Vaio desk had the usual video output VGA I hooked to a monitor CRT even older and later in a flat screen monitor.

OK, so what is my question? Pretty basic: I bought a new 27 '' HD 1080 p Viewsonic monitor and find he has two input jacks-one is the customary VGA and the other titled "DVI - D '. The new '' has usually taken VGA output and then taken two apparent labeled additional video output: HDMI and "[0]" (?)  I really don't like that means taking [0], but I would like to know how I can get the highest definition possible/resolution displayed on my HDTV? The Dell quick start guide under 'Connect the Display' shows five different connection next to the VGA version configurations. I bought my local Fry Electronics HDMI cable, but have no idea if its what I need or if it will work with the configuration of my CPU and monitor. In addition, Dell put two black plastic plugs into the socket HDMI and Sockets [0] so should I infer that they are 'dead' links or what? Please don't tell me to request a refund of CPU Dell or call Geek Squad and pay $300 to get out and connect a cable... It is impossible THAT complicated-it's all in knowing which wire to connect to the place where seems simple. Thanks in advance for any valid response. I contact Dell technical support and after waiting 15 minutes for the agent to answer my question, I released on bail.

I typically do not "reply" to my own comments, but I made a mistake in the information. "VGA" alleged out Jack at the bottom of the back of the CPU is actually NOT a VGA port (which has 3 rows of 5 pins of each for a total of 15 pins) on further review, (put my reading glasses) he has three rows of eight pins per line (total 24) left a 4 socket side pins in a sign more or configuration. My monitor has the same number of pine (24) entries in the same configuration (without the 4 pin side socket), so assuming the same number of pins (24) is compatible between the CPU and the monitor, all I have to do now is to get the appropriate cable and the problem is solved. Thank you once again, Kirk, for giving me a starting point to work from. Now to contact tech support for my win Dell. 8 issues of pro...

  • Cannot get the resolution max X 1 carbon (3443CTO) and Dell U2713HM

I recently bought this dell monitor and trying to connect via a mini displayport to DVI Dual link adapter to a Dual Link DVI cable to the monitor.

Can't see an option to increase the resolution after 1080 p.

Have updated the dispay driver 4000 Intel and install the U2713HM driver.

    Does the x 1 carbon (3443CTO) support 1440 p?

Just use a miniDP to DP cable. I use this with mine first generation X carbon 1 and U2713hm and it can support this resolution very well.

  • Reliablity and performance monitor is empty

I was just playing on Vista, now that I finally got and decided to launch the performance and reliability monitor to see why my computer was using up to 1.6 GB of RAM at idle. Not that she really bothers me or hurts my performance of the computer (after x 64 windows and 6 GB of RAM), but after opening it, I was a little confused because nothing was actually happening. I went to the monitor tab, you press start, but who have done nothing. I also tried to pass through the computer management program, but the same exact results. The work of monitors of reliability and performance, but the main screen, which shows the performance used by individual programs won't give me empty graphs, of the options and outcomes - although lack of. Any help would be great.

This is just a screenshot of what happens:

Well, I did everything what should have made the monitor, at least, I don't think that I did... the only thing that I changed the activation cool no silent mode for my CPU on my motherboard options, so I would not use too be able to leave my computer on all night. The monitor now works... If it stops working again, I'll post, but that seems to have been the cause. (?) It seems weird to have solved anything, but w/e... I do not know... I don't understand. I'll leave it is open for a day to make sure that it is the question. If this is the problem my motherboard is a version of Platinum bios msi k9a2 1.4, so others know how to solve this problem.
