that one can recommend me?

What is the best?

which is more stable and reliable?

Excuse me for my bad English

Best regards

Make sure you get a warranty - if you end up buying an OEM drive, it will not have everything.

Is either a decent choice (but note that Hitachi/HGST is now Western Digital).

When I bought the laptop, it came with a 120 GB HARD drive. I am running Windows Vista Business which fills almost half of the hard drive. I want to upgrade the HARD drive because I think the upgrade to Windows 7.

Is it possible to upgrade the HARD disk? If so, what are the compatible HARD drive options? If I do not change the HARD drive, this will affect the status of the guarantee of the laptop? for example, I currently have a 3 year warranty and the warranty upgrade HARD drive Toshiba?

    Hello!

Of course you can upgrade the HARD drive on your laptop and this doesn t affect the warranty. HDD upgrade isn't complicated and so it can be done by the user.

To swap the HARD drive, you need only remove the screws to the HARD drive Bay and remove the HARD disk cover. Then you can see the HARD drive and swap it.
I don t know you, look in your user manual. You will find interesting information and photos on this topic.

Theoretically, you can buy each HARD drive you want. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.
I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

  • Satellite P300 - upgrade to larger hard drives and 7200 RPM?

I have a Satellite P300, model PSPCCA-01W073 (sold in Australia). Machine has two 320 GB of HARD drive. Yes, it's all up to 640 GB. I upgraded to Windows 7 OS and I have dual boot in to Linux Ubuntu.

My job is editing/processing of multimedia files big and my hard drives are overexploited, so I now I am forced to exchange large files back and fourth with various USB hard drives. If I can replace the existing readers with much larger models, then I will go ahead and do it. .. But at this point, I'm out of my depth!

I asked the support from Toshiba if P300 supports larger disks but they will not engage all the answers outside the original specifications. They suggest that I should try Toshiba users forum for more help.

A kind person could tell me if it is possible to run drives 320 GB and the size. Also, I believe that the existing drives are 5400 RPM. My online store parts and pieces of local computer lists a choice between Hitachi, WD, Seagate and Samsung with sizes:

    (2.5 "/ 5400 RPM") 320 GB, 500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB as well as sizes: (2.5 "/ 7200 rpm") 500 GB, 640 GB and 750 GB.

So my second question; y at - it no advantage or disadvantage to the superior speed of 7200 RPM.

TIA, your help should prevent to me yet an another expensive blunder.

    Longbow-00

    Hello

Theoretically more big hard drives must be supported and should not be a big problem to use this HARD drive as the SATA controller is not limited to any size.

Also the use of the faster HARD drive 7200 RPM should not affect the performance of the laptop even if this HARD drive faster produce more heat

In my opinion you can upgrade to a larger and faster HARD drive

  • Can satellite A30-154 - I switch to a 120 GB HARD drive?

I have a laptop Satellite A30-514 with a 30 GB hard drive which has done a great job.

Is it possible and easy to switch to 120 GB and pointers to the best HARD drive to use?

    Thank you very much

    Hello!

As far as I know the laptop is equipped with IDE HDD's. This means that there is a limitation of LBA 28 bits and you can use up to 128 GB s HDD.
If the upgrade to a 120 GB model should work fine.

You can buy a disk of each production, but I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.
    :)

  • Can satellite A30 - I install a larger HARD drive?

I thought I had taken care with boards and pieces of kit. but after the reconstruction of my A30 (having the replaced DC Jack), he comes up with the following messages:

    * SMART failure provided on hard disk 0: TOSHIBA MK4018GAS (PM) *.
    * WARNING: Immediately back up your data and replace your hard drive. A failure may be imminent.*
    * Press F1 to continue. *

I tried winding connector to HARD drive decision-making, which seems OK.

So start thinking I killed this disk somehow. If Yes, can I install a larger drive, say 80 or even 160 GB and should I look for a magic word MK4018GAS, or is it SATA or IDE, I'm looking.

    Thank you. Robin

    Hello!

If you delete the old HDD, you can see if an IDE or SATA HDD but the Satellite A30 is equipped with an IDE HDD.

You can use a larger HARD drive. This should not be a problem, but as far as I know this laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits. This means that the disc size limit is 128GB and so you can use a 120 GB HARD drive.
If you want to learn more about this read the article on Wikipedia or here: http://www.48bitlba.com

So, you can buy a 120 GB HARD drive or an 80 GB HARD drive as you suggest. I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

In any case, I think that it s a good idea to exchange the HARD drive. SMART error message appears as if there is something wrong with the HARD drive to back up your data as quickly as possible. ;)

  • Satellite A210-ICO - what HARD drive I can use?

I'm getting bad sectors on the hard drive of my laptop, so I guess I should pay for a new one – but who are able to A210-1CO?

    TA, M

    Hello

Satellite A210 uses SATA hard drives and you need a new HARD drive with SATA interface. You can buy each HARD drive you want, for example 160 or 320 GB. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

In addition, most SATA HDDs have already SATA2 interface but its compatible downgrade to SATA1.
I would have preferred a HARD disk at 5400 RPM. Of course, you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, but they produced more heat and noise. For most of the applications are pretty 5400 RPM.

I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

  • Imminent hardrive

Hello, I'm doing ' Impending disk hard failure "message at startup. I therefore seek to replace my hardrive. I have hp Pavilion a1222n, 3500 + processor amd. I need to buy a special hardrive or buy credits?

The HP recovery discs, you have created will be automatically partition the new drive with a C: drive and a D: cool (recovery partition) Player.  It should be fairly simple once you put a new one in.

Readers, I bought these were Western Digital 1 terabyte those - they seem to work well and are relatively quiet.  I had a Maxtor 500 GB I bought that worked well, but was very noisy.  I had luck with Hitachi and Seagate drives as well.  I saw Hitachi TB and WD 1 readers for sale in places like newegg.com/buy.com/compusa.com/tigerdirect.com for as little as $80 with free shipping.

I'd be sure to copy your "My Documents" folder (or anywhere else where you have placed things) on a USB drive before switching to the new disk, if possible.  Another possibility would be to get the old drive, put the new install from recovery disks, then connect the player failed as a secondary drive and copy the folders documents from there.   A hint - the system default is to start on the motherboard SATA port is black - the secondary drive would be plugged into any other port...

  • Adding FDE drives to T410/T510

    Hi all

I need a computer laptop sharpish and want a Lenovo with a FDE drive. I can't afford to wait for the option to customize and buy, however and can not find one with EDF from a reseller, I have to buy one without and exchanging the drive. So, a few questions:

    (1) all of the Lenovo T410/T510 laptops do not support FDE disks?

    (2) if so, what are some brands (i.e. the Hitachi)?

I read through the service manuals and * suspect * 1) is the answer to Yes, but have nowhere with 2). Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Simon

Your usual choice in self-encrypting hard drives are Hitachi BDE (bulk data encryption), Seagate FDE (Full Disk Encryption) and Toshiba (formerly Fujitsu) SED (SED).  In my view, Hitachi and Seagate use AES - 128, while Toshiba uses AES - 256.  I don't think that there is a difference in practice between the two unless you have a client that requires you to use the latter.

As far as I know, this Lenovo 250 GB HDD FDE (Google UK Shopping Search) is actually a Toshiba.  See here and here.  Also, it comes with a hard drive enclosure, so you don't have to pass an exit.  It is SATA 1.5, but many readers of automatic encryption and since it is a hard drive, it won't matter anyway.  It would be my first choice if the ability meets your requirements.

    I hope this helps.

  • SAS 6iR not recognizing disc Hitachi hard, SAS

I recently installed a 6iR SAS in a R200 with 2 disks SATA not searched. I can boot from the primary drive without problem, but the secondary is on its way. Both are running on the new controller that uses v06.22.03 BIOS.

I have now swapped the two disks SATA 2 wiping Hitachi SAS 450 GB 15 k disks (HUS156045VLS600) and uses the same cable. During the boot process by using CTRL-C to enter the SAS set up, I chose to set up a raid 1 type using both disks. However when I develop the topography I can see the controller with two connected drives, but both discs are marked as Wrg Type.

Is there something I did wrong in the development of these readers, or they are not compatible with the SAS controller?

    What I see in the configuration utility is the following;

There is no other devices on ports SAS 0-3, 6 and 7.

    I can't change anything using the C option to set up the raid. If I simply continue the boot sequence, it ends with;

Boot ROM, no device supported find MPT of Dell Inc.

Have I plugged the drives on the wrong connector? Wouldn't be the pale connector instead of black?

It seems that these Hitachi drives have firmware for use in Netapp systems only. Hitachi provide no firmware to change to be recognized by other controllers.

Looks like they go back at the end on eBay, I've now replaced by WD RE drives that the controller seems to have no problem with.

  • PowerEdge T320 / Seagate Savvio 15 k SAS hard drives

    I'm trying to improve our hard drives from 10 k to 15 k, it's a drive RAID5 4 with a H710 perc card.

I replaced the first hard drive with a Seagate Savvio ST9300653SS disk and it worked great, but every time I try to substitute a different drive it always comes back with a predictive drive error, that happened on 4 different new readers.  The only difference seems to be the revision of the firmware on the drives, he who works is YS07 and all failed drives are 0004. I have improved the perc card later. I was wondering if anyone has seen elsewhere, or have any suggestions?  You want to understand this in the case of a drive failure.  Thanks in advance

  • The Serial HBA Adaptec 1405 + windows 7 + Seagate 1 TB hdd SAS ST1000NM0001

    Dear community members

I have the Adaptec card to the subject

-J' updated its BIOS/FW to the latest version
-J' downloaded and installed the latest Adaptec 1405 for Windows 7 x 64 drivers (in my case)

The map itself correctly detects the ST1000NM0001 SAS 1 TB drive (I have a background of basket SAS connected to the HBA, where the HARD drive is gliding/plugged)

Please note that this HBA + cables and so on, perfectly work with a connector SAS 146 GB HARD drive *.

Since the HBA BIOS, I am able to test the ST1000NM0001 and also for formatting (it takes 4 hard hours)

Windows Disk Manager detects the HARD drive

But soon I run the initialization command, disk management is blocked and backplane hdd activity led (one led for each HDD bridge) turns off.

The Adaptec 1405, according to its documentation, supports SAS drives up to 2 TB (especially after that the BIOS updated)

    So, what's the problem?

Why can't I initialize and use this ST1000NM0001? Please note that, as said above, he Commander of the Adaptec BIOS, it seems healthy and working properly, no errors are popped when I formatted, nor when I tested it (test and the format are two commands available in the BIOS of the Adaptec HBAS)

For any advice, or even better, thanks for any help.

    Robert

P.S. look for ASPI drivers are part of the history, I was already using computers when he was at the time of NT3.51, they say that era ASPI finished with XP, but with such behavior, it seems to me as if he lacked ASPI drivers :-)

Aside from the using snipers badly listed in the other post, I would recommend even when contact Adaptec.

When I had reason to Contact them about problems with another Adaptec card they informed me that for some reason they could solve a few motherboards problems caused with their card

  • R320 and H310 support for Dell / Seagate 3to SAS with SED?

    Hello

I'm playing with a R320 as a test bench (we have a few)

I seem to have a problem with a Dell Enterprise Plus badge Seagate Constellation ES.2 SED

Reference Dell part No 07GR 25 / Seagate model ST33000652SS

I seem to be able to set up as a virtual drive, but when I go to it's OpenManage, I can't drill down to the physical drive info, it all comes with an empty picture frame.

This also occurs if I try to go to the virtual, even if drive info another virtual disk, which is not to sit on the ES.2, shows the fine info

Given the firmware available for the ES.2 on R320 support page, I'm assuming that (I know..) it should work fine with the H310

Also, if I try to run the update of the firmware (version RSFE) I get an error "This update Package is not compatible with the configuration of your system"

It is a bench test 2012r2 data center, but found the Standard as well.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

SED support is not a feature of the controller H310. You need a H710 or H710P if you want to use SEDs. If you search for "encryption" in the user guide you will find the section that lists the time controllers that support of the SEDs:
