  • New processor for my OptiPlex gx270s

    Hello!

    I currently own a OptiPlex gx270s.

I don't want to buy a new computer, so I decided to get a new CPU, graphics card and hard drive

The problem is that I don't know what CPU, graphics card and the hard disk is Compatible with my motherboard (computer)!

    My specs are:

OS: Microsoft XP Professional 5.1 build 2600

BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS v1.10 A03

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 running at 2.66 Ghz

    RAM: Mb 2174

Graphics card: Intel 82865G Graphics Controller

    Sound: SoundMAX Digital Audio

Can you please tell me what CPU, graphics and hard drive can be put in this Dell OptiPlex gx270s?

I like especially the top processors of range (Intel i7 or i5), but computers that have it's expensive.

    Thank you

    QuattroBrain

    Hi QuattroBrain,

What form factor is your gx270s.

Your system does not support any i-series processor. Remember that your system is old, a few generations for the improvement of the performance will be limited at best. All new system, even a low, will run circles around your gx270s.

  • OptiPlex gx270s for Windows XP video drivers

I rebooted a boring optiplex gx270s with XP SP3 to replace another machine having for some reason to have XP on it (an old piece of equipment must be supported and has no drivers after XP).

In any case, I ran into problems that others have also and got through it, not seeing the network card or sound.   However, Device Manager does still no video driver.

When I opened the box, there is a Council of DVI that says:

    Silicon Image

Map of ADD sil 164 Carrera

    SIL - SC - 0034C Rev 1.3

Enter the number of inventory shows this machine originally shipped (guess that's the same still in the box) with:

    8M 206

Adapter, graphics, Digital video Interface, LPF-BRKT

Nothing else shows on the manifest of the video, but not sure how many configurations this box might be bundled with.  I really hate on port DVI port anyway as I have only something connected to the VGA.  I can install this driver if necessary but is really one does not like.

In any case, the XP Device Manager currently displays a yellow question mark for "Other devices" video controller (VGA Compatible).

Without a driver, I can not set the resolution what that went 640 x 480 (16 colors)

I tried to look at the list of drivers to guess the most appropriate one and I have tried the one below only because it didn't seem like a fix for something and he mentioned dual DVI/VGA in what is definitely what this box has.

    R253949.exe

    and it says:

    ATI 64 MB PCI-Express x 16 (DVI/TV-out) Radeon X 300 SE, 128 MB PCI - Express x 16 (Dual VGA or DVI) Radeon X 300, v.8.263.5.1 - 060607 a - 035600 C, A02 ATI 64 MB PCI-Express x 16 (DVI/TV-out) Radeon X 300 SE 128 MB PCI - Express x 16 (Dual VGA or DVI) Radeon X 300, v.8.263.5.1 - 060607 a - 035600 C, A02

In any case, running this program seems to basically just abandon (maybe because it wasn't the right one), but certainly does not solve the problem of not seeing a driver in Device Manager.  I even tried another install into a directory of the driver that was created.

Any ideas on what video driver must I use?   I can try them all, but have seen other posts about people getting into trouble when you use the opposite hole (vs DVI VGA) which became the 'active', one from the pilots.   Just thought I do it first.

    Thank you!

Silicon Image is not a card at all, it is a passage.

8M 206 is just an INTEL shipped to past DVI.

  • No Audio device - Dell Optiplex gx270s

I just installed XP - sp3 on a Dell Optiplex gx270s. The sound does not work.   There is no symbol of "speaker" on the taskbar.

I went to Device Manager and clicked on sound - nothing appears.

I went to control panel and under sounds he says no audio device.

I also checked the bios of the computer, 'her' is 'on' and 'speakers' were 'off' so I went that 'on' - but still no change.

I so appreciate the help - THANK YOU.

The Soundmax AC97 Codec driver is specific to the gx270s is not originally from the XP CD.

I downloaded the package for windows xp drivers for my model L40 - 14F & have try to install the driver file SATA Chipset (from packaging) but still does not work, this is the package - drvpack-en - 20071119132412.zip

Yesterday, I bought my pc and I'm still not functioning normally.

Initially, I have no cd with drivers.
    I need to download some.

    Hello

Don t know how you tried to install the SATA drivers, but this must be done without a doubt before, you are going to install the XP operating system.
During the installation process you must press the F6 key to include the drivers of external USB FDD.
I you don t have an external USB FDD drive and then use the 3rd party software called nLite to create a new XP CD and include the SATA drivers.

Driver SATA can be found in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager which can also be downloaded from the Intel page.

You need a SATA driver for new generation mobile phones are equipped with controllers SATA HDD, which needs a SATA driver.
The key is the Intel Storage Manager.

It contains the SATA driver for different Intel chipsets.

I found the compatible driver here in page Intel:

    [Intel® Matrix Storage Manager: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go % 21]

  • Driver SATA XP for Netbook dv6-3109ea

Can someone provide me with a link for the driver concerned? There is no XP drivers (not that I would of should it be) available in the usual Support/drivers section.

    Thank you

    Stephen

    Hi, Stephen:

HP only supports the use of the PC for the current operating system in force at the time of the PC.

People who want to install other operating systems must do so because of their own, or buy a professional PC where HP provides it support and drivers go back to XP on the PC's current company.

You'll have a hard if impossible task, get the audio and video to work on XP.

Here is the link to the SATA AHCI drivers you need.  Second download is for XP 32 bit.

Take a look in your device manager, expand the IDE ATA ATAPI controllers section and note the name of your SATA AHCI controller if you plan to install the driver to the F6 using a USB FDD prompt.  You cannot use a USB flash drive.

I think this will be one of the following conditions:

Intel (r) 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller

Intel (r) 5 Series 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller

Intel (r) 5 Series/3400 Series SATA AHCI Controller

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21730&ProdId=2101&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20 * & DownloadType=.

If you plan to integrate the drivers, then I recommend you wake each other.

If you need information on how to integrate the drivers please read the info at the link below. Read the Intel section

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-e-g-Windows-8-and-software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

I'll make sure that you can find audio and video drivers for XP before you continue.

This guide may be useful to find you the XP drivers.  It's kind of old and I don't think that there is help for the graphic solution specific to your laptop, but the audio section can help.

Read the information in section models difficult.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-e-g-Windows-8-and-software/General-XP-downgrade-Guide-for-HP-laptops/m-p/83267#M12776

I took a quick glance and can't find any specific video driver XP for switchable graphics in your laptop.

  • Where to find the SATA drivers for hp a6745f desktop to install windows XP

I have a HP a6745f desktop computer and try to install the hard drive from my old inside with windows XP on it, so I can choose between Vista or XP when I start my pc. My old hard drive is IDE and SATA supports only the mobo. I bought an adapter that converts the IDE to SATA, which recognizes the bios, but it does not start the windows xp operating system. I tried to do a clean install on FDI, but it reminds me of an error code. From what ive gathered research on the net, I need SATA driver for my mobo and SATA/raid controller. Ive read the indications on how to wake in os windows with "Nlite" disk, problem is questioned Nlite for the driver file, he wants a ".inf" file The only driver downloads ive found are executable in accession. mobo is MSI, chipset is AMD 780 G and video onboard is ATI radeon 3200.Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Shugninx, you can integrate without the sata driver AMD/ATI drivers. Most of the nVidia chipsets include the necessary drivers. This isn't Intel.
