Why does not correctly FF poster .htm web pages created in Word, and how do I fix it?

I create my web page using Word and recently upgraded to 14.0.1. The updated web page displays well in Mac Safari or Chrome, but not in FF; is instead displayed as unwanted characters. I know it's probably because of lines added to the .html code by MS Office, but I think that FF should be able to analyze whether Safari and Chrome can. Thanks for any help.

It is a page saved as Unicode UTF-16, but send by the server in UTF-8 format.

View > character encoding > encodings more > Unicode > UTF-16

You can either save the page as Unicode UTF-8 or configure the server to send the pages to the UTF-16 format.
The first is probably easier to do.
